Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Spent a few days at the lodge after a busy business trip to Queenstown from Sydney - was looking forward to a few days of relaxation after. The Spa was the absolute highlight of my trip - we did a couples massage, the “rewind” package. Was to die for - can understand why it’s won all the awards it has. Can honestly say it was the best massage I’ve ever had. Would highly recommend as the staff were excellent, there was a vast treatment selection, and most importantly they made me feel comfortable and relaxed.

John, Amy, Michelle, Kara and the whole team provided some outstanding hospitality - from the very first welcome to the quality of the rooms and the food. We couldn't have asked for a better venue to run our business retreat.

A lovely place to stay, away from the hustle & bustle of Queenstown. Restaurant menu is a little basic (being the off-season) however the food was nice. Sherri (spelling?) at Reception went the extra mile to ensure our stay was pleasant & enjoyable. Plenty to see and do onsite, good facilities, beautiful room, with the Wine Cave & tasting a must-do experience.

We visit and stay at Gibbston Lodge every time we come to queenstown as we love the overall experience. The wine tasting and the food at the lodge restaurant was next level. Delicious set menu beautifully presented but I just want to say that the service was absolutely outstanding. I can’t recommend it more highly.

Gibbston Valley Lodge & Spa is in a splendid location about half and hour's drive from Queenstown. If you are looking for a luxury escape outside of town, this is it. The place is very new and everything, and as one might expect, looks clean and immaculate. Food was good in the restaurant on premises. Highly recommend.

We've arrived home after a most luxurious stay and we’re already missing this beautiful place! The lovely rooms are equipped with all the necessary amenities and more. Very comfortable beds and a spacious bathroom. Everything was flawlessly clean and top notch for the discernable clean freak traveller like me. We had dinner and breakfast at the Lodge and both were very delicious and of high end quality. Maggie served us for dinner and was absolutely amazing. She’s undeniably a true foodie and was very knowledge on all things food and wine/spirits!! All staff we came across were fabulous and are responsible for a truly outstanding customer experience. It was also fantastic and convenient to have the wine cellar, cheesery and deli on site just a few steps away. You don’t need to

We absolutely loved our visit to this Lodge. The villas are gorgeous and beautifully appointed with all the luxuries and comforts you could want. The Lodge restaurant is incredible - the chef produced the most amazing meal for us in a beautiful relaxed and warm atmosphere. There are hot tubs and a cute sauna with beautiful views. The theatre was a real treat to enjoy with a cocktail. There were warm and inviting private spaces for business meetings. But the Lodge hosts were the standouts. What lovely, warm people. Cherie, Deepak, John, Junior - everyone was so kind to us and nothing was too much trouble. We loved everything about our stay. Thank you so much.

Our travel agent had booked us into different accommodation in Queenstown prior to our trip, but we had become increasingly concerned on reading some fairly dire reviews. I looked for an alternative and discovered Gibbston Valley Lodge and Winery - happy days! Fortunately they had a room available for the three nights for which we needed accommodation. We stayed in villa 6 which was close to the main lodge and dining room. The villa consisted of a large bedroom and living area with a gas fire and TV. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was huge with a bath, twin basins and a large powerful shower. There was a private outside decking area with a table and chairs and lovely views. The grounds were all beautifully laid out. The dining room and bar in the main lodge

Booked a villa, couples massage and dinner! The massage was exceptional in a beautiful relaxing environment and I highly recommend! The villa was brilliant with a huge bathroom, seperate bedroom and a fireplace in the living room just lovely! Dinner was a set menu - we weren’t offered any other options - vegetarian entree, shared main and a dessert choice each. It was ok but had I known the menu I would have booked elsewhere. I highly recommend staying here just consider your dinner options!
