Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

My wife and I stayed here on a three week tour of New Zealand. The location not far from Nelson is very accessible to lots of activities on the south Island. the setting is lovely, the rooms very well appointed, and most notable, the managers, Greg and Nicola, are extremely warm and gracious. And, if you're in to fly fishing, there is an abundance of opportunity; I had a fabulous day with a guide arranged by the lodge.
All in all, highly, recommended.

Dear Nichola and Greg....thank you for a lovely 2 days spent amidst lush greenery, beautiful flowers, chirping birds and heavenly views. The cottage we stayed in is perfect for a family of 4...the girls enjoyed their Pvt rooms with all the little touches. Bridgette you did a luvly job of feeding us and thank you for the welcoming meal of bhajiyas and samosas! Folks you must know that while my family was off canyoning, Greg and Nichola took me into town for my own little reconnaissance trip. They didn't have to do that but extended their hand in friendship. I loved my quiet evening in the garden with a book, a cup of hot tea surrounded by birds and flowers. Mayy wish to come back again be fulfilled! Thank you for the memories.

Greg and Nicola were more than gracious hosts during our stay at this resort. We really appreciated the fact they went above and beyond to make our stay the best. Their knowledge of the area and their willingness to share was really appreciated. We can't say enough about the delicious food loingly prepared by Brigette and Nicola. Thanks Nicola and Greg for the memories.

One of my best experience in New Zealand! You will meet there some of the most amazing people you will never encounter in your life : at least I did! The location is beautiful and so peaceful, the stunning Motueka river just a few steps away, and the food, oh the food, so goooood! Such a perfect chef! Such a perfect place to stay! Such a lovely family to meet! I totally recommend the lodge and I strongly invite anyone to experience that special feeling about true and warm Kiwi hospitality!

We stayed at Motueka River Lodge while touring the Abel Tasman Area. It was one of many places we stayed during our almost two-week tour of the South Island. Simply put, Motueka River Lodge was the best place we stayed at during our time in New Zealand. It is a beautiful estate located near an absolute gem of a national park.

However, what made Motueka River Lodge particularly special was the INCREDIBLE hospitality of Chere. She treated us like family. She made us the most spectacular breakfasts and even did complimentary laundry when our clothes were wet. Cherie was truly a fantastic host.

We will absolutely be back.

We have spend one week in the amazing Motueka River Lodge and it was a wonderful experience. The accommodation is high class, the food is excellent and the hosts are lovely and always ready to help out. The view on the mountains is beautiful and we can only recommend this place to everybody who feels like escaping from reality for a while and relax in a wonderful environment.

We enjoyed every minute of our holidays at Motueka River Lodge and exceptional hospitality of Alan and Symone and their lovely family.
The hosts make the place even more special.

Our suite was very beautiful, spacious and luxurious. The standard was beyond our highest expectations.

Everything was absolutely first class: people, food and accommodation.

There were also many activities available at the lodge and lots of attractions in the region.

Motueka River Lodge is surrounded by beautiful gardens, vineyard and unspoiled nature.

We highly recommend Motueka River Lodge to couples as well as families.

Driving up the magnificent driveway through the manicured lawns and gardens to the beautiful lodge, we were greeted by Alan, Symone and their family.
Sitting in the very comfortable lounge enjoying afternoon tea after a long drive was just what was needed and so thoughtful.
Our room was perfect and being able to wander, at leisure around the Lodge and it gardens and over to the picturesque Motueka River was the stress relief we really needed.
The hospitality shown to us was exceptional especially the beautiful muffins and breakfasts cooked for us by Cherie and the quiet wine enjoyed out on the verandah in the evening.
Coming from Christchurch, the land of the 'Shake,Rattle n Roll', we really needed the calming effect of the lodge and we certainly got it. We can definitely recommend this amazing place and Alan and Symone as wonderful hosts - every need was met and the wealth of knowledge of the local places and activities were very much appreciated.

We stayed in the cottage and enjoyed the wonderful accommodations including a beautiful sunroom and relaxing soaking bathtub. Chere is a gracious and knowledgable host that made the trip super enjoyable. This was truly one of the highlights of our New Zealand trip and would highly recommend.
