The room was clean and staff are friendly. The mattress is on the hard side but comfortable for what you pay. The stairs are dirty and the outside has trash and cigarette butts all over the place. There is trash and broken glass in the parking lot. They don't do a good job of cleaning outside oft he rooms. On the weekends you can smell marijuana and smoke coming from the non-smoking rooms. There is weak coffee and granola bars for breakfast. I reported a spilled sticky liquid in the stair well and nothing was done until 4 days later I showed the front desk a picture. They cleaned it up right away after that.

Stayed here 2 nights while my wife was having surgery at a nearby hospital.I stayed in room #301 and the room was very clean and spacious for one person. Having a kitchenette was very helpful, even though there are several good restaurants close by. The location was perfect for anyone who needs to access St. Joseph Medical Center. About a 5 minute drive from here. The people here are very friendly and want to help in any way they can. Where they fall short is that's about all they offer. The "breakfast" is coffee, mini muffins and cookies. Admit tingly there isn't much room for a regular breakfast here. While I would stay here again, I don't recommend this hotel if you are looking for many amenities. I feel that the people realize that there limitations her and do their best to make your stay as pleasant as they can.

The location was excellent. We could walk to Meijer for our groceries and it was a very convenient location. We were there visiting family and friends in the area and we both work remotely so it accommodated our work. The kitchen was nicely equipped. And I can not begin to express how wonderful the staff is! Vincent in particular always greeted us with a smile and asked us how our day was.

The staff has always been professional and met my needs at this location. Respected privacy and promptness of ESPECIALLY a select couple of staff members. Melinda is a pleasure as an assistant manager and makes me feel comfortable so if there was ever an issue I know I could approach her and she would work diligently to get to the bottom of it. The room was clean and met my needs and again, if anything was needed it was a call away or just a few steps away, and it would be handled! Jocelyn is another staff member who has always went above and beyond to assist and always make sure I had what I needed at the time, and put herself out there so I know if I needed assistance with ANYTHING, she would make it happen or at least work to find the right person that could. It is a clean hotel and maintenance and the cleaning staff works hard to keep it that way. If something isn't clean or a door wasn't allowing a key card to work, etc, bringing it to any staff member's attention would get the job done. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a quiet place to stay where needs are met for a night, a week, or longer.

The staff and overall environment of this location is great. They are very welcoming and willing to help if you ever need anything. If an issue ever has arisen, which of course does and has happened before, just as it would at an apartment complex, etc. Anywhere that has people being in close quarters with rooms close together and closer than if in a situation such as living in a subdivision of houses, I think situations can possibly take place. That is just a reality. With that being said, if there ever has been one of those things that needed the staff, assistant manager's, and general managers to react in a timely manner, it was dealt with professionally and respectfully as to not be an inconvenience to other residents, etc. I believe the staff has a done a very good job with each one of their responses to the event (s) and they continue to grow and learn more about handling people that just might be "customer of the year"!! Lol They have always been very nice and respectful to myself and that earns them an A+ in my book! The staff also works very hard at keeping the hotel clean and sanitized at all times and the outside environment and cleanliness is good as well. As long as people continue to have the customer service that is being offered and maintained now and the cleanliness, etc. of taking care of the property. Overall, I am satisfied and happy with the staff and the customer service they have been offering.!!

Thanks for nothing. I had a confirmed reservation for Saturday night and when I got there I was told that they were overbooked. Not only have they screwed me out of a room but two other reservations as well. They asked me if I got a phone call telling me that they had an alternate place for me to stay and I had not. There was an email with a number for Expedia which I called. I was on hold for 47 minutes and no one answered the phone. Turns out the daytime clerk was supposed to have called and did not. Then two days later I see a charge on my credit card for the room that I never got. I called Expedia to try to get a credit and was told that the manager of the hotel whose name was Melanie was not available so I could not get my problem resolved. I was told to call Expedia back the next day so that they could again call the hotel and work on getting me a credit. I have to add that the night clerk was kind and apologetic. It must be frustrating to work with such incompetent people. We tried and vain to find an alternate place to stay but there was nothing available in South bend or in Laporte or in the Chicago area. So after a long day of moving we felt we had no choice but to drive home. Thankfully we all made it safe.

If I could give a negative, it would be a -5. Coming in for the worst possible reason, a funeral, the expectations of the hotel, room, and service were to be as the reviews and amenities listed. The staff was unprofessional, there was sloppy hotel attire, the rooms were clean but had an awful smell, there were NO kitchen items, and the hotel itself smelled of marijuana. Upon speaking with (3) of the staff members when expressed my concerns, there were many different excuses given, the main reason being, that management recently changed to a different type of hotel that accommodates long-term residency. If I had been aware of this upon booking my stay, I would have chosen another hotel. As a business professional, there needs to be better policies and procedures for the staff as well as accountability to those staying at the hotel, not living.

Both locations have kind, helpful and friendly staff. The biggest difference between the two is the south location is much cleaner. The other big difference is they are strict about smoking inside the building. The other location smells like cigarettes and weed.

I had an incredible experience at Extended Stay! The staff went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. Their exceptional service and genuine friendliness created a welcoming atmosphere. From check-in to check-out, every team member was eager to assist, making my visit truly enjoyable. My husband and I have been staying here since August. We love the staff and love our room. Our room gets cleaned once a week by the amazing house cleaning staff. Front desk girls are always so friendly and sweet. When the job is over. I would definitely come back and stay here if we visit again 🙂
