Lisa and Brad as well as Aore Island Resort's very friendly staff make you feel welcome the moment you arrive. This is a perfect place to 'stop and drop' which is exactly what we were after. Swimming in the lagoon and snorkelling during the day, bike riding across the island, and kayaking and SUPing between reading and cups of tea was the order of the day. The fact that breakfast and all non motorised craft is included in the tariff along with the ferry trips to the mainland each day makes this good value. The gardens are beautifully manicured with staff taking obvious care and pride in their work. The beautiful staff made a fresh frangipani lei and headpiece as well as a coconut cake for my birthday. We did not take any tours on this trip as we were only at the resort for 3 nights but the options did seem very attractive. Food and beverage prices are on par with other resorts throughout Vanuatu. Rooms were clean and tidy as was the main restaurant area. We loved everything about Aore Island Resort and are already planning our return. Thank you Brad and Lisa. Please give the staff (and pooches Max and Lolly) our love.

My wife and I (in our late 60's) have just spent a truly wonderful week at Aore Island Resort in Vanuatu. The country has only very recently reopened to tourists with the majority coming from Australia and New Zealand. That being said, the resort has hit the ground running with it being in fantastic condition. Hosts Brad, Lisa, Montana and Mikey as well as all the staff are so welcoming and helpful. Our bungalow, right on the water's edge, was delightful with everything provided. Room is made up daily with new sheets, fluffy white bath towels and beach towels.
Snorkelling from straight in front of the bungalow is amazing. Meals are varied, delicious and beautifully presented in a very relaxed atmosphere. Tours of other parts of the islands are easily arranged through the resort. The pace of life on Aore is so relaxing and the weather is perfect. We were very sad to leave and plan to return - hopefully bringing others to discover this gem.

We visited Aore Island Resort in December last year and had an absolutely incredible 7 night stay - beautiful resort and delicious food made even better by the people there. One of the greatest things for us was having the rooms so close to the water, which meant we didn't need to travel for access to pristine snorkeling, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding. The staff were also amazing and helped us organise different day trips, such as horse riding and a visit to a bluehole. We would highly recommend to all and can't wait to return.

Aore Island Resort, nestled in the heart of Santo, is a truly enchanting destination. It boasts a range of distinctive advantages that set it apart:

Idyllic Location: Nestled on a serene small island, the resort enjoys a prime position opposite the town. This provides an exquisite view and a tranquil atmosphere that's second to none.

Scenic Beachfront: The resort offers a picturesque beach area that is simply captivating. It's an ideal spot for relaxation, basking in the sun, and enjoying the gentle lapping of the waves.

Pristine Marine Life: The coral reef is meticulously tended to, resulting in a vibrant and captivating underwater world teeming with exquisite fish and marine creatures.

Recreational Opportunities: Guests are invited to embrace adventure with complimentary access to bikes and kayaks, allowing exploration of the stunning surroundings at their leisure.

City Excursions: Providing unparalleled convenience, the resort offers a complimentary boat ride to the city four times a day, making certain escapades easily accessible.

Cultural Engagement: The resort takes pride in fostering a connection with the local community, offering guests a unique opportunity to witness and engage in cultural performances such as the captivating water dance.

However, to ensure an even more remarkable experience, there are areas that could benefit from enhancement:

Management: While the management demonstrates friendliness, there is a lot of room for improvement in terms of creating an overwhelmingly warm and hospitable environment.

Sincere Hospitality: Although the staff is friendly, there appears to be a noticeable element of learned friendliness. Genuine warmth and personal engagement could elevate the guest experience.

Enhanced Cleanliness: Elevating the cleanliness standards in the room would undoubtedly contribute to the overall comfort and satisfaction of guests.

Maintenance Concerns: Some rooms show signs of wear and tear, and a proactive approach to addressing maintenance issues promptly would greatly enhance the guest stay. We had for 3 days problems with water leakage in our bathroom.

Culinary Experience: While recognizing the challenges of ingredient availability, there's potential to elevate the quality of the food offered. Drawing inspiration from other hotels in Vanuatu with similar constraints could lead to improved dining experiences.

Commitment to Sustainability: A greater focus on sustainability is encouraged, from reducing unnecessary towel changes on daily basis to implementing sustainable practices that align with the resort's stunning natural surroundings.

In summary, Aore Island Resort is a captivating haven with immense potential for improvement in several key areas. Addressing these aspects would undoubtedly elevate the overall guest experience, ensuring that it becomes an unrivaled destination known for its unparalleled beauty and exceptional hospitality.

Our time at Aore Island Resort was INCREDIBLE! From our first moment being met at the dock with a fresh coconut to our last delicious breakfast before getting on the boat to go to the airport at ES, it was pure joy. The resort is situated in a stunning spot, with clear water and beautiful, well- tended gardens. the rooms are stylish, simple and very clean. The service is impeccable, with the towels replenished and rooms being cleaned daily. Smiling staff are available for any request, be it booking a massage or mixing a cocktail. It felt very safe and the 4 kids in our group (7, 11, 12 and 14) were constantly in the water, paddle boarding, canoeing and snorkeling- within sight of our bungalows. The activities available are written on a chalkboard and all of the ones we did were amazing- The blue holes at Matevulu are stunning to look at and incredibly fun. The Mount Hope float is brilliant, and the women's water music at sunset is a cultural event not to be missed. The food is great, but not cheap, so budget that in when planning your trip. Great wines and cocktails. For my daughters birthday they created a magical dinner on the jetty, lit by candles, complete with a massive birthday cake, brought out by the chefs banging pan lids in tune to their singing! My only critique would be that the desserts were a little repetitive (as we were there for a week). It was a perfect holiday and we will certainly be back! Thank you team Aore!

Thank you 823leelab for your fantastic review. It was certainly wonderful to see your group (especially the children) indulging in the water activities daily. With easy access to all the activities in Santo, the traveller can definitely build up an appetite. Thank you for all of your encouraging words, and we will work with the chefs on expanding the dessert options. Thank you again for staying with us, and experiencing our little piece of paradise in the Pacific.

The Aore Experience is truly wonderful. Lisa and Brad gently keep the great Ni-Vanuatu team focused on delivering a special experience. It all starts with a warm personal welcome following the short ferry ride from Luganville. We were delighted at the first glimpse of our beach front bungalow. The room was decked out with local flowers, a personal touch not often found in the best international hotels.

We were soon relaxing into the Vanuatu vibe. The views across the water to the verdant Santo landscape are stunning. Swimming and snorkelling were a few footsteps from our bungalow. Goggles and snorkels were available to observe the many colourful fish easily seen in the shallow clear water around the jetty.

Aore’s restaurant team deliver a range of excellent meals with a Vanuatu theme in the Nakamal. Lobster and locally sourced steak feature on the menu, along with a range of other options. The menu changes daily and we were never disappointed.

There is a range of local activities to suit all styles. Whether its trip to Champagne Beach, a Blue Hole, a local village or horse trekking, Lisa will arrange trusted locals to deliver an exceptional experience. Everywhere you will meet happy friendly people proud of their stunning scenery. You will return home with fantastic photos and fabulous memories.

For those who cannot leave their devices alone, internet is available in the Nakamal (restaurant) area. If you splash out a few dollars at the airport you can get a tourist SIM card that will give you 4G mobile internet in your bungalow.

After a magical few days, we farewelled Lisa, Brad and the team. Aore Island gradually faded into the distance as we were ferried back to Santo for the minibus ride to the airport and flight home.

Lisa and Brad have created something special. Well done!

First of all of you're pondering if this place is the place to book them just hit the book button it's amazing. We're a family of 3 with a 7 year old. He absolutely loved it and so did we. The location is perfect you opposite luganville and the resort has frequent boat trips in if you need anything like cash etc. The staff couldn't be more accommodating and a massive thankyou to Brad, Lisa, Mikey and Montana our hosts. Nothing was a hassle at all and they were very accommodating to our son. The food is next level! Daily specials are basically the menu options but that's perfect because it's always fresh and absolutely delicious. The snorkeling out front is good for kids no currents and if you're lucky like I was you'll even score a sunken WW2 souvenir from the old American base. I even took my son for night snorkeling to see the extra wildlife. Even better the resident dive operator Paul is right next door and he himself is also a legend and will be the subject of another rave review. We had a beachfront bungalow that was really comfortable beds and the view was unreal. What I noticed about this place is they have built a little community around the resort where you can meet colourful locals and the resident expats that call this place home. We had a lovely Sunday beach party under the cool shade of a large fig tree perfect weather, yummy food and cold beer! They also spoilt my son with a scenic jetty dinner. Oh I almost forgot the cats! We miss bear the cat such a gentle soul always up for a pat. Thanks for our stay we'll be back!

We loved our week of relaxing and having fun at Aore Island Resort with our two young adult sons enjoying everything the resort has to offer. The staff and owners are fabulous; creating a relaxed, welcoming vibe and we felt so comfortable and peaceful in our beachfront and garden studios which were simply and tastefully decorated, very clean, quiet and private. The hardworking Chefs and kitchen staff create delicious food everyday, there are wonderful cultural experiences to be enjoyed every second night from The Bamboo Band to trying Kava and of course going on adventures on Aore and Santo. It was a great holiday and we are cherishing our memories.

Stayed here for 4 nights with my family in a garden bungalow and had a lovely stay. Rooms are comfortable without being luxurious, weather was quite warm and humid making sleeping a challenge at times so would have been nice to have a/c but that's only a minor complaint.

We all loved the snorkelling out the front and did a great tour organised by the hotel to Port Olry, Champagne Beach and the Blue hole with a guide named Francis. Worked out better priced to book as a private driver than per person as a tour.

Downside of the location is mainly the irregularity of the ferry so you can feel a little isolated but the food at the restaurant was great apart from kids meals being tiny and not enough to feed my 9 or 11 year old. By the 4th night we started to feel the menu was getting a bit samey and wanted some more variety but all in all a fantastic stay and would highly recommend

We had five days at this beautiful resort, it’s just a short boat ride from Loganville, and the Aussie owners along with all of the local staff made us feel very welcome.

(Gluten Free Food) My wife can only eat Gluten Free Food, she was a bit worried about traveling to Vanuatu. No need to worry, when the kitchen was advised, they changed the full menu board to Gluten Free on every item every day

The owner even went by ferry to town and bought gluten free bread, the extra help kept going

We were also there to scuba dive the SS President Coolidge Wreck, well that worked out well, Paul from Aore Dive lives next door. We were able to walk next door each day to get on the boat for our dive.

Paul even met us at the bar each evening to give us info and stories plus plan more dives

We had lots of entertainment with local dance and music, plus the water ladies making beautiful music, we will be back again, thanks
