Super comfy , clean and at one with nature. We stayed in the bigger upstairs room, and loved it. Very quiet , relaxing location , just a short walk from a bus stop. Very clean kitchen .. would definitely stay again !

What a wonderful gem!
The hosts are completely fantastic and have made a wonderful, quirky, relaxing, and beautiful retreat for guests like us that were seeking a friendly and relaxing place to cap off our holiday in New Zealand.
Or, I could see making the Guesthouse the focus of your holiday. From the friendly personal greeting to the delicious breakfast and great advice for exploring the island, we quickly felt at home. Or maybe it was the hammocks in the beautiful bush and pasture with the alpacas grazing quietly nearby.
Villages and beaches within easy reach by walking or bus ride (some hills but they're gentle and beautiful). Great restaurants, too. There's also an island and vineyard tour that can be arranged (which we didn't take but heard wonderful things about).
We're so glad we made this part of our trip!

Myself and my partner stayed at the Waiheke Guesthouse and couldn't have been happier with our stay. The owners were so friendly and happy to share their knowledge and recommendations of where to go. The house is beautiful, set in a forest in the valley. They have a spa out the back which has beautiful views to the forest and stars above at night. We ended up extending our stay as we didn't want to leave. The place is very close to the main town and a large portion of the wineries are a short drive. I would highly recommend d the Guesthouse to anyone visiting Waiheke!

If this were a youth hostel at $40 a night, it would have fulfilled all of our expectations. The first challenge was a locked door and no one home when we arrived. After several calls between our travel agent, the transfer company (Ananda Tours-Jeanie was so nice to stay with us for over an hour) and the lone employee who initially insisted we had no reservation, we finally arrived. Getting a large suitcase down to the lodging is challenging at best and only very fit people could stay here. The house has no AC and we faced the choice of a hot room with windows closed or biting bugs throughout the night. The “private” bathroom is not en-suite and is on another level requiring one to go out into the public space. The self serve kitchen is spartan at best and breakfast consisted of a tin of homemade muslix with milk. No coffee day one.
This establishment is nowhere near anything you want to do on Waiheke. We had to get taxi’s and private cars to transport us around a wonderful island with an art and wine laid back vibe. We had fabulous meals, miles from Waiheke Guest House. Island is wonderful. Stay somewhere else.

I left early as I was thoroughly disappointed. I paid a lot extra for the breakfast for the 3 days expecting that some of it would be cooked. And for the price you charged $86, I don't think it was worth a tin of fruit, dried cereal, and eggs. And for it to be self service, which was not indicated anywhere that this was the breakfast option.

I was really disappointed that the hot tub was not available, as that was one ofthe main reasons I booked this accommodation for that facility.

We arrived for breakfast having booked for 2 nights as we were flying overnight from Melbourne.
We discovered that Nat and Grant, that were running the guesthouse at the time I booked on 6th July, have since sold up. The bedroom we booked looks nothing like the photos and the bed linen looked dirty and had cat hairs everywhere. We were shown our breakfast that we had to help ourselves to, which was a jar of muesli and some tins of apricots. The photos on the website/tripadvisor/booking.com are out of date and misleading. There are no lamas, delicious bowls of fruit and yoghurt with cappuccinos or beds with stylish cushions. I would definitely not recommend staying here. Obviously the last review mentioned was just before the property was sold.

Really enjoyed the room, We got the Pukeko room which is upstairs and a little more private compared to the other rooms. There was a little bit of left over wine which me and the partner gladly enjoyed out in the spa pool under the watchful eye of the two Alpacas. My Partner really loved the Alpacas and the dog Shanti was also super cute. I really liked the terrariums dotted around the site many of which had unique characters inhabiting each one. The Breakfast was of raw muesli with assorted fruits was fantastic and we also made use of the free range eggs available to guests. There are also lots of games, books, and suggestions for visitors, a tour can even pick you up from the site. We walked down the hill to the Ostend Markets (15 minutes) and then caught the bus from there down Onetangi to try wines from 5+ vineyards. 10/10 Highly Recommended.

We had a fabulous stay of four nights over Easter.

Highlights included lazing in the hammocks, watching the wood pigeons swoop through the valley, yummy breakfasts, and chilling out with hosts Grant and Nat.

Having stayed at a few places in Waiheke, this is my favourite. Nice central location within walking distance to Palm Beach and just a really great energy.

Altogether just a beautiful and relaxing place to stay. Highly recommended.

This is the second time I have stayed at Waiheke Guest house. The first time I was with a group of girlfriends to celebrate our 40ths. This time I visited with my husband, sister & her family (all the way from the UK).

I want to break down why I think Waiheke Guest House deserves 5stars.

Guesthouse - we stayed in the top room, which felt like we were in a tree house. The bed was comfortable and it was decorated with items that reminded us of our travels, including wallpaper maps and board games to remind us to hangout and let time escape us.

The entire guesthouse has been decorated with items that have been loving hand selected by the hosts, many a reflection travel and times past. I appreciated the feeling that this evokes, everything is a reminder to let go and be present.

My favourite place to chill was on the large back deck in a comfortable beanbag looking out over the beautiful landscape watching the animals.

The Hosts - Grants thoughtfulness was incredible, an example of this is he has collected National Geographic magazines from decades and found out our birth years and gave that issue to each of us, such a special touch.

Natalie is a zen-master and the perfect tour guide. We were fortunate enough to have several tours with her. We experienced the best of the local artisans (you must visit the award winning olive oil farm) and tasted some incredible wines, if you love red go to Jurassic Ridge. More than the amazing local people and business is the incredible landscape of the island. Nat seemed to know every single special spot there was to capture the beauty of Waiheke Island.

The Experience - You can’t help but relax here. Starting your day off to a delicious healthy organic breakfast, followed by hand feeding the alpacas breakfast was amazing. The kids loved going with Natalie and feeding the chickens and collecting fresh eggs.

A highlight was on our last night when Nat and Grant arranged a private wine tasting and paired food at the Guesthouse. The setting on the back deck with an open fireplace was picture perfect.

The reason I rate Waiheke Guest house 5 stars is that it embraces the true meaning of putting your guests comforts and genuine experiences first. The hosts got to know all of our needs well enough to be able to ensure we had a holiday we will all never forget!

This property is very unique and charming, you won't find anything else like this on waiheke, we stayed in the pukeko room, it was like staying in a tree house. Recommended too everyone visiting waiheke. All facilities are great, and there is a kitchen, free WiFi and the bus stop is just down the road.
