Detailed Reviews

We keep coming back to Jacobs Well, it is safe, friendly, accessible and over the last several years my family has found the Park Managers Alan & Nicky to be completely reasonable and responsive to the behaviors of those residing in the dwelling. The Villa's could be a little cleaner and have some more items to compliment them ie clock and clothes horse and some more cooking items, however the prices are very reasonable when contrast with other similar offerings in the region. There is everything on tap with a great bait and tackle and boat hire at the boat ramp that opens at 0530, and the local shops cater for all that you need and don't have to bring. There are big shopping center's within a 25min drive. Thanks for enabling our family to GET AWAY for 6 nights and reset.

Thanks Beehappy001 for your review we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay in the park. It is certainly very handy to have such great activities on our doorstep. Regarding the cleaning, we do take a pride on our housekeeping so to read that you villa could have been cleaner is disappointing. I will pass this feedback onto our housekeeping team - Thanks Nicky and Team Jacobs Well

Great place to stay...lovely staff Alan and Nicky are wonderful and always ready for a laugh. This place has the cleanest amenities we have ever seen and whoever thought of having the radio going for extra privacy thank you. We chose Jacobs Wellas we are new to caravanning and wanted to get used to our van....we weren't disappointed in our decision. Only downside is those pesky midgees but with mossie coils and citronella candles you're all set. We'll be back again soon.

We recently stayed at the cabins at Jacobs Well Tourist park for a family holiday to the theme parks and trips to the national parks around the gold cost , from the excellent welcome we received from the staff to the comfort of the cabin we had no complaints.
There are some great stores adjacent to park , the fish &chip shop and bakery were great to eat from and the general store covered all our other needs.
We heard there may have been a problem with midges so we took some bushmans spray but never had to use it.
Most of the theme parks are within a 25min drive from the park and tambourine mountain was only 45 mins from there as well
So in short if you are looking for a clean and comfy cabin that is quiet and peaceful with the pleasent sounds of nature around with close access to the water and only short drives to the theme parks and gold coast this park is worth a try, as we will be booking again on our next Queensland trip

Staff were approachable and very friendly, we had family in both tents and cabins and we were all pleased with them. They were clean tidy the beds were comfy, had the dinner sets cutlery even dish washing liquid, tea coffee sugar milk. Everything you want for a weekend away. The communal showers/toilets were very clean and always smelled nice. The grounds were clean and tidy and most of the people we passed were friendly and helpful. It was a lovely little hidden treasure.

We have been going to this park for about 30 years and have not had one bad experience. Nicky and Alan are the loveliest couple and run a beautiful park. Having sold our van, we stayed in one of the cabins with our boat and the cabins are absolutely fab. Very fashionable and come with every mod con you need to have a holiday. They are clean as a whistle and beautifully laid out. The linen was so crisp and white it was like sleeping in a cloud. I even enjoyed making meals in the kitchen because it was so easy and convenient. The lounge chairs were cosy and comfy yet stylish. The park and gardens are looking absolutely beautiful and so so clean and tidy. Our last visit was about 2 years ago and the difference in the grounds is amazing. It was such a pleasure to walk around the park and all the staff are friendly and accomodating and extremely helpful. From booking, checking in and checking out, it was a pleasure to deal with everyone. So thank you guys, I am just sorry we had to leave a little early. I hope we can visit again soon. Liz

The park itself is lovely. There is not much onsite for kids to do but there is a playground and skate park just outside the park and to access the swimming hole you have to leave the park and walk to the water no pool onsite. We stayed in a waterside cabin it was nice but a-bit dated mainly the bathroom the only issue was we were there for 8 days and was never offered a fresh change of towels for the shower. Staff were lovely.
Please be mindful that there is a lot of midgies and to be prepared. We got bitten quite a lot handy that there is a chemist across the road. The car park was busy due to a fishing Competition but once finished crowds died down a-bit. For the price it was okay not far from the local pimpama shops and the fish and chip shop across the road was delicious.

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed review! We're glad you enjoyed the park's natural beauty and the convenience of nearby amenities like the playground, skate park, and the delicious fish and chip shop. 😊 We appreciate your feedback on the waterside cabin and the need for a towel refresh during your stay. We'll definitely look into this to ensure our future guests have an even more comfortable experience. As for the midgies, we understand they can be a bit pesky, especially near the water, and we're happy to hear the chemist was conveniently located for you. Thank you again for staying with us, and we hope to welcome you back in the future—hopefully with fewer midgies next time! 🌿

4 days at this site, pitch 30 opposite pub! All the sites along the road are noisey! Very noisey, the Tavern is busy, has outdoor speakers facing the road, and extremely loud live music outdoors at weekend. Traffic, local hoons, and boat ramp close. Massive Bird (100's) chorus in trees at boat ramp also drowns out normal conversation at dusk and dawn.
The sandy camping pitches are level enough, the white sand is filled with ash from years of camp fires, the black soot gets everywhere!
Amenities are very good & modern clean & fresh.
Seems both male & female campers were unable to use a toilet brush while we were there! Toilets always pooey! (Been to many cheaper sites where this was not the case!)
Lots of trees for shade but also lots bird poop! Heaps of mossies early and late, 10am to 3pm ok.
Staff were friendly, helpful and respective to changes and requests.
Gate barrier code sometimes played up and needed a few attempts!
Tavern food great, fish & chip shop very good, and so was cafe 100m away.
Superette very basic, no cold meat, limited fruit & veg. Bakery also very good!

Thanks Scottishduncan for taking the time to review our park. We are so pleased that you got to enjoy the local eateries in the township, we feel very lucky to have these great places on our doorstep. We do have a lot of birdlife living at Jacobs Well, the birds are usually well behaved and settle down at dusk. Thanks again Nicky

Stayed on an unpowered site, large grassy area, great water views, ammenities appeared to be new and were kept very clean. We received a text message invitation to Friday night happy hour held at the camp kitchen. Great location with a tavern and shops across the road. Lovely friendly staff and to top it off we were allowed to use our small fire pit.

Jacobs Well Tourist Park is our go to oasis in very busy lives. We go as often as we can, anything from one to many months apart. We never tire of the natural surroundings, very adequate sites either with or without pads and impeccably clean amenities. The staff are so welcoming and helpful. Close to water and shops. and the best bakery!
One thing to discuss is the midges. That is why on this occasion I have given 4 not 5 stars. They can be severe but for us, if you manage their presence the envionment and space of Jacob's Well outweighs the possible discomfort. Nikki and Alan provide information sheets and recommendations to manage the midges presence. As one who is very sensitive to bites I have learnt through experience to follow the recommendations and have found a good balance. Being aware and prepared helps enormously. In the cooler months it is not an issue at all.

We stayed in the Safari (Glamping) Tent and the facilities within were fantastic. Ian at the Desk was super helpful. The Ablutions block was clean and tidy. Local shops:- servo, good friendly and affordable, Freshly caught Fish with Chips across the road was very tasty but a little pricey, The Pie shop at the back was excellent and recommend the Curry and Mushy Pea Pie (Yum). Found the 'Bottle-o' a little pricey. Ten minute drive to the shopping village at Pimpama, has a good selection of everything. The Thai take away was excellent. So, the negative is the noise from the Birds, they seem to start screeching out at various times in the night and the sound of people entering and exiting the boat ramp and car park can be noisy through the night and early morning. We ended up buying some ear- buds to block the noise which worked. If there was anything I would change would be the way the tents are facing and would put the outside Deck to west which would provide more privacy rather than out to the river and car park. Bring Mozzi repellant too.

Thank you for your review, great to hear that you enjoyed the local eateries, must agree about the Curry and Mushy Pea Pie from the local bakery. The safari tents are fantastic, catching that coastal breeze and glad you enjoyed the facilities. We do have a lot of bird life here at Jacobs Well, I agree they can be a bit noisy at dusk and dawn, but for the most part they are well behaved. We hope we see you again soon. Cheers, Sandy.

You sure can aslong as its raised off the ground.
Hi Deborah. If you'd like to email me at mgr.jacobs@gctp.c om.au I can send you a copy of the recipe. Cheers, Tammy
Hi Kylie. During the cooler months midges are dormant and generally not an issue. As months get warmer and humidity increases their number will begin to rise and we recommend bring protection (mozzie coils are great, repellents etc). We have plenty of information at reception and our kiosk stocks a great supply of products to ensure everyone enjoys their stay! Cheers.
Hi Miss Lily. The Jacobs Well Bayside Tavern is a lovely spot to grab a meal. It's very family friendly and the restaurant is nicely renovated. There is also an outdoor beer garden with a playground if you have kids and they will allow you to bring your dog to a part of the outdoor area too! The food and service is good and what's best is that is a 2 minute walk from the Tourist Park. Harrigan's Drift Inn is a couple of minutes drive from the Tourist Park and is a great alternative. It is a lovely Irish pub which overlooks the water. Laid back, friendly and relaxed, the food is nice and you could certainly spend an afternoon there catching up with friends! Both pubs have weekly deals and events and their websites generally have all of that information! Cheers!!
