The staff here is very amiable, the in-house restaurant is scrumptious, and the location is extremely walkable. The rooms are well put together and provide quality hygiene essentials that will last more than one use. The parking is within the building, which makes even the cold days bearable. The front desk associates are beautiful and charming, while being efficient and professional. My wife and I were here for both business and pleasure, it being our anniversary the day before a big meeting, the Double Tree is a great choice for either or. Wonderful stay!

Beautiful hotel with a parking garage attached! You can't beat that in the city.
Parking over night cost $62 per night. The hotel will give you a card to go in and out of the garage a few times ( we didn't use ours)
We each got a bottle of water and a warm cookie at check in!
The rooms were a good size! 2 queen beds, and room to spare. We stayed in a city view on the 17th floor over looking the pool and city. It was great!
Security was no concern, great places for families. Early mornings are super busy in the hotel, as well as around 9:30AM
There is a Starbucks in the hotel too, which was a bonus.
Only had 1 issue, the pillows are FLAT! The hotel communicates via text message (which is fine) but it took over 12 hours to get 1 extra pillow because that's all they had available.
Rooms are quiet, you don't notice a lot of extra noise in the hotel. There were a few minor details, like dings and dents, a little wear and tear but nothing that truly took away from the hotel itself.
Location is fantastic! Centrally located and definitely a good place to stay with families.

I’ll start with the good. Great location with clean, spacious well appointed rooms. Pool area is lovely with plenty pool towels but be aware that there is not continuous sun due to the surrounding high buildings. Bathroom was spacious, clean, shower was ok and plenty toiletries provided. Check in was quick and efficient but no information given by the reception staff about the hotel. The not so good. Housekeeping is on request so be prepared to have to ask for towels, toilet paper, bins emptied, coffee pods etc and to make your own bed. This may not be an issue for some but I found it a pain as we were staying for 4 nights and time consuming waiting for coffee/clean towels to arrive. Bring ear plugs to ensure a good sleep. The air con unit was extremely noisy and windows don’t provide much sound proofing from outside noise. Late check outs are available for a fee but be aware you can’t request until the day of checkout and they are very limited. It would have been helpful if the staff had told us there was very limited availability. Would I stay again? No. When I’m on a leisure break I really appreciate getting my bed made for me without having to ask at reception everyday. Reception staff really need to be more engaging with guests. On this trip we stayed in 5 different hotels and the Doubletree was by far the most expensive but had the worst customer service which was disappointing.

Dear Robbies-tackle, We thank you for joining us during your extended travels and appreciate the insights you have shared about the experience. While we are delighted to read how much you enjoyed the cleanliness or our well-appointed accommodations, we understand that our "by-request" approach to housekeeping services wasn't quite what you were expecting. Your additional feedback has given us a few things to consider and we hope to have the opportunity to impress you during your next visit to Chicago. All the best, DoubleTree Mag Mile

Booked two connecting rooms for a 3 day family trip. We liked the location near the Mag Mile. However both the elevators and the pool (outdoor) are too few/small for a hotel this size. And our primary issue was the lack of service, not even basic room cleaning like replacing towels, coffee, garbage cans. And we did request service on day three that never came.
It did work for us because it was (slightly) cheaper than other nearby hotels but the wait for elevators, lack of available seating at the pool and no basic room service should be considered.

Overall, my friends and I had a great time at this hotel. We booked two rooms for a bachelorette party. The location is great because there are so many things that are within walking distance. We did pay for parking since we needed to go in and out. The parking garage was pretty spacious to drive through and had plenty of spaces!
The room itself was great. Very spacious for a two bed and the bathroom was also spacious. We did not ask for housekeeping to clean during our stay. However, housekeeping needs to check the different amenities within the rooms. There is a coffee maker with cream and sugar, but the cream was old and chunky. Also, even though the room was able to sleep up to 4 people, they only had 2 or 3 sets of towels in the bathroom.
We were able to use the open lounge areas when we wanted to hangout as a group and not feel crowded. The lounge areas were very nice. There was the main area next to the Starbucks and restaurant. Then there was another lounge area in the basement. The basement had event spaces that were not being used so we were able to hangout in the lounge late into the night.
Check in process was very slow. Even though they had 3 front desk agents, the wait was long and the process took forever. The first night, I forgot my toothbrush and asked the front desk to send one up. They said they didn't have the employees to send it up so they asked me to come down to the desk. I was on the 14th floor and away from the elevator, so it took me more than 5 minutes to get back to the front desk. When I got there, there were 2 front desk agents and about 4 maintenance/housekeepers just standing around at the front desk hanging out. They didn't have the toothbrush ready for me to pick up and it took them another 15 minutes to try to get one to me... I don't understand why they couldn't have sent someone up to give me the toothbrush, especially if they were making me wait such a long time to even get the toothbrush once I was downstairs. It doesn't make sense for there to be so many available employees and they can't provide a simple toothbrush to a guest.
Overall, I had a great stay and experience here. I wish it didn't rain so we could have used the rooftop pool, but hopefully next time!

Dear Eunice, We love to celebrate friendship at DoubleTree Magnificent Mile, and we thank you and yours for spending your Chicago weekend with us. We are thrilled to learn that your overall visit was so wonderfully enjoyed, and we trust you had great fun exploring the many “must-visit” destinations found within steps of the hotel. From brunching and shopping on Michigan Avenue, to taking in the sights at Navy Pier, the discoveries are endless. We apologize again for the delays related to your service requests and if that many colleagues were available in the lobby, we too agree that your toothbrush should have been delivered. We hope you can accept our apologies and we look forward to joining us again in the weeks and months ahead. Warm regards, DoubleTree Mag Mile

This is my second stay at a Hilton property in Chicago, and again i'm left a little disappointed. My wife is here for a conference, so we didn't choose this property not to say we wouldn't but FYI. Ok, so pros-cons. The location is about as good as it gets in Chicago, your in river north, the Magnificent Mile is two blocks away, navy Pier about the same, tons of great restaurants surround you within walking distance, in short its all here. The room is comfy, clean and spacious and the bathroom is large and honestly stellar. Iron and ironing board The biggest pro, we arrived at 830ish am, and they let us check in which when you arrive on an over night flight is a game changer. Cons, not a lot but there are a few things worth mentioning. Fridge but no microwave. There is a desk but no chair to is on which is nice to have sometimes. They went two days without servicing our room nit sure why? No big deal it just would have been nice to have a restock of coffee. There is an ice bucket but no cups or glasses so im not sure what you would need or use ice for? Would I stay here again, yes, the cons are small cons more peculiar than annoying.

I really enjoyed this hotel on visit to Chicago with my friend. It seems well kept and attractive. It has a little restaurant near the lobby that has tasty pickup items as well as a sit down place which we did not try. Also a Starbucks. The beds were truly wonderful. Soft enough to sleep comfortably but firm enough to wake up relaxed. The bathroom was nice with a step-in tub shower and all was in working order.
The very best part of my stay was that the day I checked out I lost my cell phone. I thought I lost it in the lobby but after Security got involved and watched the security tapes, it was discovered I had taken my phone to parking garage when we left. I knew my phone kept indicating it was still somewhere at the Doubletree so the kindest security officer went out of his way to walk to the garage and look around where I had parked-and found my phone next to where I had parked! Had he not gone out of his way to go there I would have been replacing a brand new phone. As it was, it had been run over multiple times but still somehow worked! So after a visit to the Apple Store for a new screen protector I was off to enjoy the rest of mytrip.
While the hotel itself was a lovely experience, my experience with this Security employee elevated my trip experience and makes me a Doubletree customer for life. I will recommend this Chicago Doubletree over any others downtown and expect to receive the same level of professionalism at any Doubletree I stay in anywhere.

There were some nice touches, like some check-in texts, but overall, a lot of room for improvement. First, every morning, I was woken up at 7:30 am by loud vacuum outside my door. Second, I asked for housekeeping to take out my room trash about 2 days into my 4 day stay and they said they could not enter my room unless I was there (Huh? That's not how house keeping works!). Third, it was really expensive for being so barebones in terms of room and services. Would not stay again...

I was prepared to write a middling review of this hotel (it is in a great location but the rooms could use a little upkeep through a minor renovation to help with dings/scratches), but the people who work here skyrocketed my review to stellar. Everyone was useful and nice the whole time, but soon after we left we realized we left a stuffed animal that is beloved to my child. The housekeeping staff noticed and kept it aside for us and made sure it was there for us to come get it. They took extra care to make sure that the item we left behind was saved, when they didn't have to, and it was very very special to us. I can't say enough for the care and consideration of the housekeeping staff and Vanessa, the manager, for making sure that we were thought of and cared for even after we checked out. 10/10 will stay here again. Also the rooftop pool is good times. I would absolutely come back to this hotel any time. Thank you!!

Dear PghIrishHarps, Thank you for the kind review. We have long believed that it is the gracious hospitality provided by our team that brings guests back time and again and your review further affirms that sentiment. Often times, when we think of that stellar hospitality, we reflect on the lobby team who has a great deal of visibility, though as your comments note the efforts of those behind the scenes is equally as important. We thank you for shining a light on Vanessa and the rest of our team. We look forward to celebrating your review with our entire DoubleTree team and we look forward to spoiling you and yours with another treasured experience, hopefully, one day soon. Yours in hospitality, DoubleTree Mag Mile

Choose another hotel!!!!! Double Tree has a few months of implementing this "brilliant idea": House Keeping by request to save a lot of money. This is not acceptable. Guests do not have to "request" cleaning as well as we do not have to "request hot water" if their brilliant executives like to live in the dirt then they should do it. Don't hide your rapacity for extra profit at the expense of your guests' well-being and health behind the word "sustainability". Hygiene is a human right and should come first but you. They are certainly interested only in money, not in people.
