Where has this hotel been all my life? Brand new as of June 2022, this place hits all the marks that many hotels (including a lot of the other Marriotts and former Starwood brands) miss. In fact, if I come back to Chicago and can’t get a room here due to them being sold out or increases above my budget, I’ll be very sad. Why? First of all, the staff. You enter on the ground level to be greeted by staff, who then show you to the elevator that takes you up to the lobby on the 21st floor. The level of service I received when checking in has been unparalleled. On my way to the hotel, I ordered Uber eats and messaged the front desk staff to let them know. They were happy to hold my order for me. I was told in the Uber eats app it had arrived. When I arrived at the hotel, unfortunately the wrong order was waiting for me. This of course was the fault of the restaurant or Uber eats driver, not the fault of the hotel but still, the gentleman checking me in didn’t skip a beat and offered to comp me dinner at the restaurant. It was such a genuine gesture that I by no means expected and could not have appreciated more. Additionally, I booked a superior king and was upgraded to a deluxe king, which was a wonderful start. That gentleman at the front desk is Paul and he deserves the utmost gratitude and acknowledgment on his amazing level of service. Next, the meal I enjoyed was right before they closed the kitchen at 11pm and I didn’t feel rushed or anything. Again, the bar staff was impeccable and the woman helping me didn’t rush me at all and gave me suggestions on what to order. I ended up getting a medium rare 4oz wagyu (very reasonably priced for $27) and it came with sauce and mushrooms. The food was absolutely delicious and the wagyu was very tender. Lastly, the room itself is incredible. They have so many lights (and light switches!) and, believe it or not, an overhead chandelier!! In addition, my room had water bottles, a robe, the most comfortable sheets, and a full toiletry kit. The room is luxurious without feeling gaudy. The shower had a very convenient handheld that immediately produced hot water and had a wonderful mist like I’ve never seen before at another hotel. They also have a theme with the hourglasses as Paul explained to me. The look of the hotel lobby, hallways, rooms is so luxurious… honestly it didn’t look it from the outside at night on a rainy night but boy does the decor surprise you when you walk in. The decor and staff will make you feel like royalty here and you’ll never want to leave.

I echo the sentiments of the reviewer who noted that the hotel’s security qualities make it ideal for a woman traveling alone. The newly opened hotel, located on the upper floors of the former Continental and Commercial Bank building, which was opened in 1914 in Chicago’s downtown, was a welcome respite and a formidable addition to Marriott’s Autograph Collection. It reflects the quality of this particular brand quite well. The reception is on the 21st floor, and access to the hotel rooms on the 3 floors below is by key card only with a designated elevator system. I was in town for a conference and decided to switch hotels from another in the Autograph collection that was in a beautifully appointed building just a few blocks away, with a highly rated restaurant (that was closed) visually compelling, but, unfortunately, lacking the amenities I needed for this trip, so I decided to make the change.
The staff at the LaSalle was extremely welcoming from the front desk to the restaurant, and my request for “the quietest room” was granted with one on the 18th floor with two queen beds, that made for a very nice roominess for one person. The hotel’s high ceilings add to the slightly formal but not too intimidating elegance that pervades the hotel, from the dark blue walls and dark wood to the stylishly designed and spacious bathroom. The room had two nicely appointed and large closets, with a fully snack and beverage stocked bar just outside the 9bathroom. I had my choice of working at the small corner table set just underneath a lamp or a smaller one just big enough for a laptop which was set in front of a small half-divan with back support in front of one of the beds.
The hotel has a restaurant, Grill on 21, that is popular with locals, and if that is closed you can grab a meal at the bar, as I did. I also ordered room service for one meal that arrived quickly and with all of the proper accoutrements. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the hotel, and would recommend it highly to both business and vacation travelers. It is conveniently located within a 15-minute walk from the Art Institute of Chicago, with a CVS and a branch of my bank within half a block across the street, and the elevated train runs by it as well, although I could not actually hear it from my room. The LaSalle is an oasis of calm that I look forward to experiencing again soon.

I stayed at corner suite in this hotel with my husband on July. It was a little treat from me to my husband. This hotel was brand new so I chose this one over J.W. Marriott which is located right next to this one.
Hotel lobby and the restaurant (Grill on 21) was beautiful designed with gorgeous furniture. We had coffee at the lobby and it was cheap like $4 each.
We couldn't check in at 4PM. We had to wait until 5:30. That was huge downside for us. If you want to early check-in and late check-out, this hotel is not for you because late check-out is not guaranteed according to the director.
The suite was tiny but looked so fabulous. There were separate shower and bath tub and I loved it! The view from the living room and bedroom was okay but it was hard to keep privacy without blinds so we kept it down all the time.
TV was unwatchable thing because of loud AC. Hopefully they could fix this issue.
Unfortunately, this hotel has no spa or pool but they have a tiny workout room on the 21st floor. Surprisingly it had enough equipment to work out.
We had breakfast at 'Grill on 21' and choose our menu with extra money and food was good and loved atmosphere of the restaurant.
I highly recommend this hotel if you would like to stay in fancy hotel because it is definitely gorgeous and elegant. Also this hotel has great management. I gave my opinions about this hotel before I check out and Mr. Brian Adams who is a director of operations for this hotel. He took my concerns seriously. Some hotel managers don't care what you say or how your stay wad but he was different. Thank you Mr. Adams.

This was my first time staying at this Marriott property and it is a wonderful addition to the Marriott portfolio. The location was a different area from what I am used to, but I liked being in the financial area and did find that Michigan Ave as well as the Lakeshore trail were all within close walking distance. Access to the El train lines is the best because in the area you have access to either the blue or red line all just a few blocks away. This is the only area other than the Clark/Lake station where you have this option for the two lines as well as Orange and Green lines. The decor of the hotel was modern and sleek. I had breakfast at the hotel and it was very good. Nice exercise room. I used my Marriott suite nights to upgrade from a regular room. I was supposed to get a corner suite but it was not ready when I checked in so I opted to take a regular suite which was ready. The room and bathroom were great, plenty of room and I liked that there is no carpeting on the floor, just rugs and hardwood. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I love the LaSalle. We come to Chicago often and if there were no vacancies at the LaSalle, I would reconsider my travel plans…that’s how important it is for us to stay there when we’re in Chicago.
The solarium, library, and lobby areas are perfect to get some work done or enjoy a drink or coffee. The restaurant and bar areas have extended hours so there’s not a time of day where you can’t find something. The fitness center has 24 access and has treadmills, ellipticals, peloton bikes, free weights, etc. and is always stocked with water, fresh fruit, and clean towels.
The rooms are beautiful, with unique light fixtures and furniture. The rooms have an espresso/pod machine and a stocked minibar. Beds are comfy with plenty of pillows. The bathrooms are well lit with marble floors and all the toiletries you may have forgotten to pack.
The service is really what sets the LaSalle apart. Food and beverage staff, housekeepers, front desk, and valet/bell staff are lovely. I am always greeted and treated like I matter. The restaurant staff remember me from prior visits and treat me like an old friend.
I have nothing bad or even mediocre to say about the LaSalle. If I had to come up with something, I will say that the way the hotel is configured makes for a potentially long-ish walk from the elevators to your room. Give yourself a few extra minutes to get from point A to B. Count it towards your daily steps!
Thanks LaSalle for being RAD. Already looking forward to my next visit!

My rating is 3.5/5. This is a beautiful hotel in a convenient location. Check in was smooth, and the room was nice. The Queen bed was definitely not the standard US Queen size (I find this is often the case in hotels) but not a big deal. The bar area is very nice with good service. Breakfast was also tasty with good service. The beds were comfy.
Unfortunately, the hotel put us in a room directly below the live jazz band that plays until at least 12.30am on Fri and Sat nights (the nights we were there). WHY would any hotel do this and not expect a complaint, especially given we checked in with our kid. When I messaged via the app around 9pm I was essentially told it was too bad and there were no other rooms we could be moved to. My husband ended up leaving the room to go and speak to the Manager, who agreed to move us to another room that night. Annoyingly, we had to move rooms yet again the following day, so had to pack up and move out yet again. Nobody wants 3 hotel rooms over 2 nights.
We were comped the first night but in the circumstances that was the least we would have expected. They really shouldn’t put people in those rooms under where the band plays at the weekend, at least without warning.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us feedback from your recent stay. Our top priority is to provide our guests a safe and quiet place to rest and enjoy and sadly this wasn't the case for you and your family your first night with us. We are discussing ways to better provide our live jazz music to our guests without effecting guests trying to sleep. Again, we appreciate your feedback and for staying with us and hopes to see you back very soon! Regards, Brian Adams, Director of Operation

This is a beautiful hotel with very friendly staff, but it is a new hotel and they are working on getting some kinks out. When we arrived they did not have the room that I had reserved with two queen size beds, and instead gave us room with a bed and pull out couch. They charged me the same price but gave me breakfast coupons as a consolation which was a nice touch. However, when we got to the room, there were no sheets on the sofa bed and when we called down to ask for someone to make the bed, they just showed up with sheets and handed them to us rather than making up the bed. When we went to bed, the room where the sofa bed was located had a light over the coffee maker that had no switch, so it had to stay on all night. Luckily the person who had that bed brought an eye mask so she could sleep. The first day housekeeping was fantastic and gave us extra water and the cleaned the room meticulously. The next day, we left the room at 10am and when we got back at 4 the room hadn’t been touched. We left at 5 for the evening and when we came back at night, the beds had been made and we had new towels, but the bathroom was really dirty and didn’t looked like it had been cleaned at all. They did not clear out used glasses or replace them with fresh ones. I really like this hotel and hope that they work the kinks out soon.

The hotel rooms have been beautifully renovated. We normally stay at JW when we come to the city, we visit over December and thought we would try the LaSalle . It has that upscale boutique feel makes it feel cozy and special. The staff was all incredibly warm and helpful especially with our small children we had in tow. Bleu the bellman and his associates went out of their way to accommodate our family and children , it was a great experience.
Only down fall is you can tell they are still working out some communication and logistic kinks with the flow of the restaurant during breakfast. They took care of us and it was all great, but could see it’s not as well
oiled yet as other Marriotts we have been to. The only other thing not truly an issue, just different to have the lobby on the top floor and not right when you walk into the hotel, so we were a bit confused coming in. Would definitely come back!

Great option if you want to treat yourself to a quiet, relaxing and luxurious stay. Voted best new hotel last year. It’s located in the 21st floor of a historic building in Chicago’s financial district. Perfect on a weekend because the area is very calm and non-touristy compared to weekdays and the room rates are more affordable too. The room and bathroom are generously-sized and elegantly furnished. They offer a complimentary car service within a 3-mile radius if you don’t want to walk.

The staff were so amazing, I had called the day before and was able to switch from a double room, to a king room with no issues. I also requested an early check in and figured that may or may not happen.
I arrived at 11am and they had a room for me!
Stunning room. great amenities. The best hotel room coffee I have ever had. Enjoyed the location. I was able to walk to the magnificent mile, millennial park, and pretty much everywhere.
I traveled solo as a female and felt safe the entire time in this location. I just didn't go out after dark at all.
Only downsides: not much of a view from my room, in fact it just faced like an inside court yard.
Pros: amazing smelling soaps/conditions in the shower, room coffee was like nespresso, huge TV with some cable channels, robe, location, staff, early check in
