This hotel is in my top 2 Hilton stays in Chicago! Staff is extremely accommodating. I was able to check in early after a change in travel plans, which was much appreciated. There’s a bar and cafe in the lobby. Rooms are so nice! We will be back soon!

I picked this hotel because it was new, it was a Hilton, and it was near my firm's office in downtown Chicago. I was delighted by many things. First, hotel staff were a super diverse bunch, all stylishly dressed, and provided great service. The design aesthetic is 1920s art deco (I think) and everything throughout the hotel is a pleasure to look at, whether it is inside or outside of the rooms. The bar was hopping the one night I sat down to get a drink, and I enjoyed the hummus plate I ordered from there (it was surprisingly huge). Great central location.
Only two things I would note:
1. Instead of providing an iron/ironing boards in guest rooms, this property provides a Conair clothes steamer. Because I was traveling for work and needed to iron a work shirt, this was a big hassle for me on the first morning of my stay. I had to figure out how to use it on the fly and it worked okay, but not as well as an iron. To be fair, I did not contact the front desk about this, so maybe they'll bring up an iron/ironing board if you ask--not sure.
2. Parking is in a public garage very close to the property, and there is no valet. If you're driving in and are not familiar with where the garage is, I would get the address from the hotel in advance of arrival.

We did a Christmas "staycation" and picked the Canopy because it was close to the theater and I had stayed at other Canopy locations before. While our stay was nice, this Canopy is not like other locations.

The staff we encountered were nice. Front desk staff and the bartender were all friendly and accommodating. The lobby is nice looking with lots of seating and we did grab a drink after coming back from the Nutcracker. Aside from hearing the person in the room next to us a few times, the rooms are quiet with little to no street noise getting in. My biggest complaint was the room decor. Other Canopy locations have a very contemporary, sometimes almost industrial clean style to their rooms. The rooms at this location have a "grandma's house meets steampunk" style that's kind of bizarre. The entry way has vintage looking wallpaper and antique looking drawers and storage. The sleeping area has lots of brass piping. It looks like a "Trading Spaces" room that they spent the majority of the money on the headboard and then had nothing left for the rest of the room. One corner of the room looked totally unfinished with a sad looking lamp hanging down. Wires & cables for the bedside lamps & clock were simply wrapped around the decorative pipes which looked janky. It just wasn't on the same level as other Canopy hotels I've stayed at. We had a good stay but the look and finish of the rooms is not consistent with other Canopy locations.

It's great to hear that you selected us for your Christmas 'staycation' and that our team members were friendly and accommodating! We're glad to know that you found the location peaceful and appreciated our well-appointed lobby. We take note of your feedback about the room decor. We understand that our design may not appeal to everyone, just as styles can vary with each Canopy location. However, we find that our blend of vintage meets modern provides a distinctive atmosphere that many guests appreciate. We will look into the matter of cords and cables to ensure an aesthetically pleasing environment. Despite this, we're glad that you had a good stay and, as always, we aim to ensure that the Canopy by Hilton Chicago Central Loop meets every guests' unique expectations. Thank you for sharing your perspectives and we hope to welcome you back in the future.

Canopy Hilton Chicago loop is built in the old Chicago and North Western Railway building. The whole space feels very warm and inviting from the moment you come inside and the rich jewel tone colors and art are all a welcome site.
The rooms were just as bright and welcoming upon entry! The decorations are impeccable. So many gorgeous details like brass and leather and wood… definitely a nod to the railway history with different train type decor and art throughout the hotel. We loved the sustainable option of a glass bottle in our room and filtered water-fill stations in the hallway, the extremely comfortable bed, the waterfall-style shower head, and the Nespresso machine in our room!
We highly recommend this hotel and would absolutely stay here again. Plus when the hotel is completely finished in late summer there will be a pretty amazing rooftop space as well! We can’t wait to go back!

I recently stayed at the Hilton Canopy for the first time on a multi-day business trip. I was pleasantly surprised by the large, clean, modern room. The lighting is excellent with numerous lamps, and there are plenty of electrical outlets for charging devices. The en-suite bathroom and shower were spacious. The window shades and sliding doors contribute to the quiet and very good sleep quality.

The food in the hotel lobby (both breakfast and dinner) was really good, and a special shout-out for the service from Ron on the evening bar shift. The chocolate croissants are delicious. You can choose to eat on the Hilton Garden Inn side as well. Their continental breakfast is $16 USD, or the hot breakfast is $21 USD.

The hotel is conveniently located to most businesses. There are plenty of good restaurant options within a block or two of the hotel. I will make this a regular stop on my return visits. The only item preventing me from giving a higher 5 star rating was the checkout process. There was a single reception attendant for both the Canopy and the Garden Inn. I had to walk over to the Garden Inn side with my luggage and request the electronic bill. I wasn't given the option to review a printed copy, and the attendant covering the Canopy side didn't have access to the reservation system.

The on-site “restaurant” is not a restaurant- it just heats up pre made food. Front desk staff was not helpful and told me they were staffed so leanly that they had no one to assist. The location is very convenient but the hotel is not a top flight hotel by any means. No irons in rooms (only a moldy steamer), only two elevators, shares some amenities with the other Hilton it backs on to. Would not stay again.

A quick business trip overnight in Chicago. Room was spacious, clean aside from the soda bottle cap I found next to the bed when my phone fell on the floor.

One master light switch bedside that shuts down the whole room at once.

Ate at the restaurant for lunch, it was ok, nothing spectacular, didn’t get the fries and my sandwich was wrong - I suppose Ham and Cheese panini ordered is easily confused with hummus/mushroom panini.

Breakfast smoothie on the way out was tasty.

I would stay here again. Parking is self park in the garage up the street from the hotel for $55/night.

Staff: Upon arrival the staff at the front desk was tremendously friendly and helpful with any questions that I had. Additionally the staff at the bar were so nice and friendly with me, it made me feel very welcome. The staff in the morning at the cafeteria were so patient with me when figuring out what I wanted to eat:

Location: I lived in Chicago for several years and this location is pretty much only 10 minutes from wherever you would want to go! East walking to distance to a few restaurants and I always felt safe.

Room: THIS ROOM WAS GORGEOUS! I definitely look forward to coming back and staying here again. The hotel is updated but keeps the integrity of the old building!

I would 100% recommend anyone staying here when visiting Chicago, I can't wait to check out the other Canopy by Hilton's around the world!

Our stay at the Canopy Hilton Loop exceeded expectations and we never wanted to leave.
The building was extremely well kept up and clearly brand new. From the first moment we arrived, Kyle at the front desk made check in extremely easy and pleasant. He was very informative and made sure all my questions were answered (even knew the history of the building!). The room was immaculate- so modern, clean and comfortable. My fiancé and I also had the pleasure of meeting Michael, the great bartender at the lobby bar. He was so friendly and made some wonderful drinks! Neil the GM was professional and clearly running a great hotel. The engineers seem to be incrediblely responsive and extremely accommodating, and it was clear they are keeping this building well kept above and beyond normal expectations and competitor hotels. We will never stay anywhere else in Chicago!

We visited Chicago for a concert and this was our digs for the short stay. We really enjoyed the comforts of this lovely location in the heart of the city. There are plenty of things to do and places to eat within walking distance. The subway to the airport (blue line) is two blocks away and about 10 minutes walk. There is a refrigerator in the room and a steam iron. A normal iron and ironing board is available at you request. I asked, and he bike complimentary Canopy Bikes were not available during my stay so I am not sure if that option is still available. We made reservations in advance for the rooftop restaurant (Seville) and it was nice. I am not sure that this is a hotel for great views due to the location around tall buildings (the Willis Tower is across the street). Ice machines are not available, but you can request a bag to your room. We did not receive the ice bucket that was requested with the ice, so I'm not sure if they have them. Instead of water bottles, there is filtered water machines on each floor. The is a glassware in the room with glasses and a refillable glass bottle for your use. The coffee machine makes expresso, but we did you use it. It seemed really neat, however. I would totally recommend this Hilton Brand Hotel if staying in the Chicago Downtown area.

They are very welcoming and accommodating here, But it would be best to alert them to the hour in which you will check in. That way, they will be looking for you at the late hour and and can make sure an appropriate person will be there check you in, although I do agree that e-check-in earlier is probably more efficient.
