This hotel was very clean, front desk staff was very helpful and friendly! The locations was great. Loved the mattress and the linens. We didn’t use the restaurant so I can’t review it. Parking was in a garage close by. Would stay here when traveling to the city again.

Our trip down to Chicago was a special one for my 66th birthday-to be at the start of Route 66 in Chicago. We arrived at Union Station on the train and strolled across the river bridge, past the Willis Tower, and across the street to this new hotel. Drew at the front desk greeted us promptly and gave some free advice on our plans for a Sox game via the “L”, the best pizza places, and a trip across the street up into the Willis Tower Skywalk. Drew was always attentive, interested in our plans and ready to make helpful suggestions if we needed. This hotel is relatively inexpensive, has a bar/coffee shop attached, is very convenient to food places, a short walk to Millennial Park and best of all, close to the Red Line which goes to Guaranteed Rate Field. Our room was on the northwest corner of the hotel facing the Willis Tower, but there really isn’t a bad view as there are no rooms on the first couple of floors. The windows and ceilings were high, the room spacious and the housekeeping immaculate. Coffee/ tea maker in the room is single serving cups and was great especially considering what a cup of coffee costs downtown (e.g. $2.67 at McDonald’s). You get housekeeping service every day without asking if you want it. We didn’t do much with breakfast here as we went to Lou Mitchell’s which is a Route 66 classic (100 years old in 2023) and just a short walk a few blocks west on Jackson Street. Just a few blocks east of the hotel (towards the lake) is the historic end and beginning of Route 66. Other breakfast options include the attached coffee shop which is part of the Hilton Canopy hotel in the same building. Hot coffee, packaged food and drink are available in the lobby 24 hours. Giordano’s Pizza is right across the street and open late. You will not need a car if you stay at this hotel; we walked all over downtown and never were more than 45 minutes away. You can rent bikes across the street near the Willis Tower. The hotel is the right price, spotless, great location and an awesome staff. We loved it!

I visited Chicago for the first time at the beginning of my trip. I searched for a good hotel at a price I can afford in a central location, and which will not be too noisy. I decided to book a room in the Hilton Garden Inn Chicago Central Loop.
The room I received was at the hotel's lowest floor (floor 4) and facing Quincy street. the room was huge, though not so comfortably arranged, in my opinion. It was clean. The hotel is expensive, but in the mid range for Chicago downtown,
The first evening, I heard a lot of traffic noises, and especially the L-Train, passing on Wells street, a short distance from the hotel. However, later on, the train frequency decreases and it stopped bothering me. Otherwise, the room proved to be quiet.
On the first day, housekeeping did not visit my room. I read that some hotels do not send housekeeping to the occupied rooms every day, so on the third day I asked reception when is housekeeping supposed to come. She said that every day and made a note to place my room number on the housekeeping list. From then on, my room was cleaned every day,
The hotel doesn't include breakfast in the room's rate. There is a restaurant at the hotel and it is possible to eat there breakfast, but it is a separate charge, The prices of breakfast are pretty high (e.g.: $16 for a continental breakfast), so I chose to get breakfast outside the hotel. There are a number of places you can get something to eat and drink a short walking distance from the hotel.
The location is convenient, and you can get to the river or to the lake front by foot. If you want to use public transportation, there is a L-Train station on Quincy and Wells, a mere 3 minute walk from the hotel.

I checked in just before lunch on Thursday and a friend and I ate lunch in my room and later had coffee and snacks, in an effort to stay as Covid-careful as we possibly could. Also the room has beautiful windows overlooking the street and so it was nice to eat in the room. On Friday we were out and about and when I arrived to the hotel I found that no one dropped off towels or more toilet paper, cleaned, or disposed of any of our trash, which included food. Also the TV did not work. So I went downstairs and requested towels and toilet paper, which I received. The next morning (Saturday) I stopped in to request my room be serviced and the trash be taken out and the television be repaired, and then headed out for the day. So I was surprised when I came back late Saturday to find the food trash from Thursday was still in the room, no towels on the floor were taken, and the television wasn’t fixed. When I went downstairs to ask for these issues to be addressed again, the hotel sent someone from housekeeping with towels, and I answered the door with a mask on and took his towels, but asked that he wear a mask to come into my room. He left and never came back and I learned later that was because he didn’t have access to any masks. Later a very sweet building engineer came and did wear a mask of his own and couldn’t fix the TV on the first attempt but after a little while returned and was able to address the problem. A little later again late Saturday evening, he came back and generously took three days of trash out of my room. He was very kind. The next morning at check out I went and explained the situation to better understand how the hotel would address and compensate for the unsanitary lack of service and lack of functioning television for two days, and the representative said, “You wouldn’t want a free breakfast, would you?” I found this really interesting — after describing a highly problematic and unhealthy situation, she knew her response was insufficient yet that’s what she offered, which to me speaks to a lack of agency among team members to do right by customers. She then offered $100, which I also found offensive, having paid $1500 for a three nights’ stay. Beyond the poor customer service, I wonder if my experience was unusual or if it has become commonplace for Hilton not to dispose of food trash regularly, as this will serve to grow bacteria in rooms, which can be dangerous for future occupants with more vulnerable immune systems.

The location is good and the rooms are well maintained.

However, I cannot recommend the hotel for any Hhonors member, because the management seems to be not aware about the modified program in general. No welcome as a Hhonors Diamond member, no upgrade offered and a room chosen to the center area watching against a wall. The food & drink Diamond member incentive has been refused except for breakfast. The new program is not anymore a good reason to be a Hhonors member, but it is very disappointing that this hotel is not taking care about long term hotel visitors. I was not even possible to get a Coke. Maybe it will change, because this hotel just started a few months ago.

The Hilton Palmer Hotel takes much better care about Hhonors member and the location might be also better for some Chicago visitors.

The hotel is located across the street from Willis Tower and shares the building with Hilton Canopy. HGI is Lobby to 7th Floor, Canopy is the higher floors. There is limited food in the area for dinner, although there is a restaurant on site. Parking is $45 with in and out privilege. The hotel looks very new.

Check in to the hotel was fine, all the front desk staff extremely helpful. Only time this was questionable was when I requested ice. One person asked if I needed a bag or if I wanted something filled up, and took my cooler to fill it up. One person insisted that I could only get a bag via room service. Another told me to go into the restaurant and fill up my cooler myself.

We had a 2 queen room, only issue we had was one of the beds was really close to the wall and the only way to get into bed was to crawl in from the side or bottom. There was a layer of dust on the headboard in the room. There was a closet area by the door, fridge, microwave, arm chair and desk area with office chair. The bathroom included a shower, sink and dual flush toilet, towels were located in the closet area.

We appreciate the feedback, asia999. We're happy you had a pleasant stay with us and found our staff to be helpful. However, we're disappointed that your stay with us was less than ideal. We regret that there was confusion regarding where to get ice and that the room size was not to your liking. We will be addressing the dust issue with our housekeeping team in order to remedy this in the future. We look forward to hosting you again soon for a more positive experience.

Hey guys! This hotel is an A+++ in my book. Rooms are spotless, hallway carpets always looked and smelled as if just cleaned. I had a King-city view room...it was so large i almost felt guilty being in it alone, almost! A little oops upon checkin with the correct room type but Jasmine at the front desk is just precious and the manager was joyfully right on the issue and resolved with 100% satisfaction. The towels and bed inens are great. The mattress may be a little firm for some, but i slept like a baby. This hotel is quiet!! Its directly across from Willis Tower. Still Sears to us old timers! Great area for walking to shops, food places and theaters!! My only deduction was no safe in room, but its a personal preference. Room has keurig, microwave and fridge and space to live in...i will surely be back!

Will not apply the daily food & beverage credit to snack purchases from the grab N go pantry even though the Hilton website states such purchases qualifies. This is how Hilton a billion dollar company robs their best guests/most frequent customers.

Per Hilton site:
With the Hilton Honors Daily F&B Credit, Gold and Diamond members can apply the complimentary credit to any eligible food or beverage purchases billed to their room up to the total daily credit value, any time of day – from a delicious burger via room service to a fresh brewed coffee or snack from the on-property grab-and-go market.

I and my family stayed in this hotel during the very very cold January. The location is Perfec and the parking lot is very closed to the hotel which I spit during the cold weather. There is also a very famous Chicago Deep Dish pizza within 1 minute walking distance which my family liked a lot.
I will recommend this hotel to any of my friends visiting Chicago.

Had a great stay and Drew at the front desk was beyond helpful and extremely accommodating. I arrived early in the morning on my first day and though a room wasn’t available he took down my phone number, stored my bags and gave me a breakfast recommendation. About an hour later he called me to let me know a room had opened up and was ready for me. Later in the week, when my plans changed he helped me out again with adjusting my stay. The hotel is centrally located and directly across from the Willis Tower. The rooms are spacious, modern and clean. It’s a very comfortable stay and the staff are professional, courteous and accommodating. Would stay again whether for work or personal.
