When I first saw the Pendry two summers ago after walking through the first floor, I knew I wanted to stay there. A bonus is the location--only blocks from the South Shore Train Station's last stop at Millennium Park. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to--including Chicago's River Walk, Museum of Contemporary Art, Art Institute, Chicago Cultural Center. The Art Deco architecture and interior decor exudes glamour and class, and we felt important staying in this hotel. The bedding and pillows were top-notch. The bathroom had a magnifying makeup mirror, always a plus. Instead of a coffee-maker, the room had an espresso machine. We enjoyed the brunch at Venteux, as well as the welcome cocktail!

Great customer service Location Good Nice Clean classy environment Parking $74 daily Self Parking garage $55 You can uber/lyft if weather permits This trip was last minute for NYE to take the kiddies to see the fireworks. Also visited local attractions. Dress warm. Have been to Chicago in the summer and winter, always something to do. Great high end shopping.

Very pleased with our Pendry stay. Excellent location for walking the Mile and Loop, but the hotel also offers a complimentary drop-off car service within 2 miles of the hotel. Most of the other guests were business travelers, we only saw a couple kids. We had our three teenagers and they really loved the sophisticated atmosphere.
We stayed on the 5th floor overlooking Wacker and it was mostly quiet. We never heard neighbors, and there are only external rooms on this floor so no neighbors across the hall. (This limits foot traffic in the hallways). Occasionally we heard traffic or the wail of emergency vehicles, but they wail so loud I imagine they can be heard all along the Mile. Really, we were impressed with how quiet it was even on a low floor. We had connecting rooms with our kids, and we learned that these are available in only a few locations. We were told they are mostly on lower floors.
The beds were very comfortable, and the linens were high quality. We slept very well. This was one of the few area hotels I found that offered rooms with two queen beds instead of two doubles. The larger beds were a big plus for our daughters who had to share.
The staff were very gracious and helpful. We worked with the concierge in advance to arrange rides, but when we were there, the concierge staff were not available for a day or so.
Be sure to spend some time in the atrium of Venteux. We’d love to be there when it snows. All in all, a lovely experience.

Semi-frequent business traveler who was a previous guest of the San Diego location Chicago PENDRY did not disappoint! The room (corner king) was very spacious with a great view. The room layout and lighting were ideal, with thoughtful touches (lighting, charging areas, separate table for dining). The steamer was great for pressing clothes, and the tonal in the room was a great surprise that allowed me to try a piece of equipment that I had been considering trying. Highly recommend and would not consider staying anywhere else for my next visit.

Great property with respect to the historic architecture of the building. Great and friendly staff. Beautiful public spaces. Great food. Room was nice, albeit on the small side, particularly for the length of stay. Need to work on details in room service, restocking -- this took many, many repeated phone calls and notes over a five-night stay to ensure the room was kept up. The restaurant was closed the week of the visit (except for the final day), so that required room service for food, which, like any such property, really adds to the cost. The food quality and speed of delivery was, however, outstanding. Great property: they just need to pay more attention to the little details.

I would highly recommend a stay at The Pendry. I travel to Chicago often to visit my daughter and this was my second visit to The Pendry during the month of November. It is the restored Carbide & Carbon building, every aspect of the interior of the building is beautifully designed and impeccably maintained. I can’t stay anyplace else now that I’ve visited here. Every person you interact with strives to make your visit the best experience. They make sure they introduce themselves and remember your name to address you during the visit. Perry, Filipe, Pam, Joel, Kate, Bob, Alex, Bronte, Henna, Jalesa, Champagne and Carly…..Thank you for the wonderful experience, I’ll be back in the new year.

Perfect would be one word to describe our visit. From ease of booking to valet. The valet were very informative and helpful with our luggage and miscellaneous children’s items and didn’t make us feel like an inconvenience for traveling with small children.
Checking in we were escorted to the concierge by the bellhop, who happily offered my two littles a complimentary stuffed animals. I was greeted by name from our concierge, and she checked us in and gave us additional information for our stay. Our bellhop then escorted us to the elevators and to our room where he gave us a tour through the room, providing us with tips and info about bedding, robes, minibar, television functions and room service answered any questions we may have had.
Our room! Where do I begin? The ambience of the lighting and bedding made it heavenly after a hectic day of being tourists. The shower and toiletries were top notch and smelt heavenly! The bathrobe was so luxurious I bought one upon check out. In addition I bought a candle to attempt to recreate the luxury I felt at this hotel!
We will stay here again. I will also recommend the Pendry to anyone looking for a hotel with high end luxury in a central location near many iconic locations of Chicago.

Really great hotel in the center of it all. Close walk to Mag Mile, Millennium Park and Grant Park as well as many other neighborhoods like Printers Row and Old Town.
Arrival was seamless — make sure to valet rather than parking in the garage next to the hotel (made the mistake thinking it was Pendry parking but it’s another hotel). The hotel smells amazing and feels modern yet welcoming.
Rooms are reasonably sized, very clean, and have extremely comfortable mattresses. The custom Pendry shampoo, body wash, and conditioner is a luxe touch and leave you smelling great with perfectly tousled hair (you might consider buying the products too from guest services instead of making the mistake I did and forgetting). Rooms are incredibly quiet and I couldn’t hear any city noise during my stay.
The rooms could have additional hanging hooks and storage areas. Some space didn’t feel efficiently used, but that could be limited to our floor plan in 2106. Mini bar available with snacks, booze, sodas, and sparkling water.
Room service is priced as expected but the portion sizes are wickedly large. You might consider ordering one platter of chicken tenders instead of two ;-) Food was very good and if you order breakfast I recommend the smoked salmon bagels and pancakes. I might consider skipping the pot of coffee and either grab a cup somewhere or make use of your in-room machine.
Overall, the Pendry was an excellent hotel and I’ll definitely be returning for future stays. Thanks for a great time!

Being in the travel industry and having stayed at the majority of downtown Chicago hotels, Pendry Chicago reins the top of my list! From the moment we arrived at check-in, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and at home! After checking in, we were given a delicious green tea beverage with a "secret password" to take over to Bar Pendry and have our choice of alcohol to start our weekend off right! Make sure you ask for Nick at Bar Pendry as he is one of the most amazing bartenders we've encountered! His cocktails are superior and always with a smile! And boy does he hustle! We checked in to the One Bedroom Tower Suite...WOW!!! It was very large with awesome artwork, a dining table for 4, a separate sitting area with couch, a separate bedroom with one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in and the incredible bathroom with a deep soaking tub and rainforest shower! The views from each room of the suite were phenomenal! This hotel is historic and at the same time, the pinnacle of luxury!! Cafe Ventoux had a great breakfast and outstanding coffees! We enjoyed our mornings there! The staff at The Pendry are second to none! Staff from housekeeping, turndown, and bartenders, everyone greeted us with a warm smile and always asking if there was anything we needed! We will continue to return to Pendry Chicago for our downtown stays. You can't beat the location either! Thank you to Pendry for far succeeding our expectations! We can't wait to come back!

This is really a great property and has everything I look for in a hotel. The Pendry is beautiful with a great sense of style in a very comfortable atmosphere. Location is perfect in that you can enjoy and access everything Chicago has to offer, but you may find yourself spending lots of time at the hotel because every member of the staff makes you feel like the most important guest in the building. Every time I encountered an employee they seemed to genuinely care if I had everything I needed. That goes for the front desk, bellmen, housekeeping, concierge and bar/restaurant. Chicago is a great food town, but don’t overlook Ventaux and Bar Pendry. Delicious food, serious drinks and impeccable service. Rooms are comfortable, quiet and well appointed with nice extra touches like an espresso machine. Trust me - book the Pendry. These folks understand hotels and hospitality.
