The Hilton Chicago O'Hare saved me from living in the airport during an extended layover. I was able to get a daily rate for a room for 12 hours before my flight. I was also able to get credit for my stay in my Hilton Honors account. This property isn't the prettiest, but it gets the job done - working shower, fresh sheets, comfortable bed, soundproof rooms. Thanks Hilton O'Hare!
The person at the check in counter was friendly and professional. She greeted me as a Hilton Honors member. All other staff I encountered were also friendly and professional. The room was all I would expect. I enjoyed the view of the runways. When travel problems happen at ORD, this is the place to stay because it is attached to the airport. They even have a nice outdoor area with benches, which is refreshing when spending all day in airplanes and airports.
It is definitely close to the airport BUT when I arrived there were 30(!) people in line and 3 check in people. It took almost an hour to get my room. So, any advantage of the location is lost. The shuttle to and from the nearby Marriott would have the same time to get to my room. The rooms are basic. About the same as a holiday inn. Small. But I guess nobody comes here for the ambiance.
Location directly at terminals 123, even coming from T5 was swift. Train, elevator down, that’s it. Used the checkin via App and digital key worked for elevator and room. As Diamond member no upgrade was given despite availability and if you want your water bottles, they are not delivered to the room. You need to go down and line up at checkin. What a waste of time. Room was facing the back parking lot on the 10th floor with elevator noise all night. Guys: the left elevator needs maintenance as the sound is not normal! Otherwise ok’ish room bit outdated but everything worked. As Diamond received a 18$ breakfast credit which was in the market place enough for a fresh fruit bowl and a ham cheese croissant. Wouldn’t stay here for longer but to cover the night it was location wise perfect.…
I see why this place gets bad reviews. No one answers the guest services line. I went downstairs as well and the bell desk was completely unfriendly. I requested foam pillows and they never arrived. Rooms are beaten up and lousy.
My room stank of stale cigarettes, it is dated, dirty and only for the desperate - which I was because United Airlines were so unhelpful. I suggest that they gut the pace and start again. never again!
Got stuck for the night at ORD so we booked a room at the Hilton next door... $450 for a single night in a hotel so rundown it's laughable. The room looked nothing like the picture on the Hilton reservation site. It's scream 1990 and it worn like it too. They'll text you to welcome you and to make sure everything is to you liking but they won't do a thing to try and make things right. When I book hotels I never bother looking at Hilton and this reminded me why. Never again!
Arriving T5 in the evening after a delayed and lengthy international long haul- checking in to Hilton at 21:30pm and departing at 03:30am there could not be more convenient lodging. Room was as requested: high up and away from elevators and ice machine. And super close to Terminal One for early morning escapades. Room was totally comfortable, clean and up to efficient modern standards. Could have used a bottle of water — but I know how to use a tap. Thank you very much for a pleasant, value-driven stay.
I'm really disappointed in how cheap Hilton's are getting. Only major chain, outside of Motel 6, that doesn't give it's top tier frequent stayers a free breakfast. As a Diamond I got an $18 voucher, but that only covered the fruit and yogurt parfait, with no coffee. I also miss the free newspaper for Diamonds, but that looks like it is gone and never coming back. Pluses- Location is excellent. It is so nice to just roll down the underground hallway to your terminal. Rooms are quiet, clean, and comfortable. The health club is incredible, and includes a lap pool. I was a Diamond, but moving on to Hyatt's Globalist.
This hotel is not inexpensive. $450 for 1 night with taxes. And paint was peeling off of the ceiling in the bathroom. The hall wallpaper was also peeling. She shower faucet was leaky. And check in was slow and rude. This hotel is in need of a complete overhaul. It was clean. But that is about it.
