This was our second time staying at the Four Seasons Chicago. We travel to Chicago regularly and we switch back and forth between 4 top hotels depending on availability and price. This time we chose the Four Seasons because our previous stay was memorable, it was disappointing that when we made our reservation we were no informed that the lobby and restaurant are under renovation. It did make our stay less enjoyable, breakfast is only available via Room Service, the food was good but not what we are used to have at the Restaurant. There is a temporary cafe in the lobby area that offers coffee and light bites. Aster Hall in the 900 Michigan Avenue Mall is a great option, you just take the elevator to the 6th floor. Last time the Ice Cream Man made a visit to our room, this time he wasn’t around and my kids were disappointed. We visited the kids playroom and were surprised as to how unkept it was, it was one big mess. I used the gym and was happy with the amenities provided.

This hotel is beautiful! The service was terrific! The location is the best! From check in, the room was beautiful, drinks in the lounge and snacks were delicious. The public space with all of the art, amazing furniture- wow! I did not want to leave.
They really take special care of the guests during these covid times. They have friendly greeter at the door that takes your temperature with an amazing touch less face scan that takes your temperature. They provided a wonderful checkin amenity of face masks, sanitizers and cleaners in the guest room. I appreciated the high level of care and how serious they take to ensure confidence.
I did not want to leave 2 nights were not enough!

From the moment we arrived for a 2 night stay the service was outstanding (I apologize for not getting everyone's name). To begin with the valets were all very attentive and friendly. Each time we left they wished us safe travels and each time we returned they welcomed us back. Lobby is on the 7th floor and check in was made easy by the courteous receptionist. I booked the lake side suite on the 37th floor and the room and view were impeccable. King bed was comfortable, the A/C was quiet. The room itself was quiet and at no point did I hear noises from adjacent rooms. The only down side was a strange creaking noise that woke me up in the middle of the night. It got to be so annoying that I had to call reception at 2AM and complain about it. Turns out it is a known problem and is due to the natural "creaking" of the building during high wind. Personally speaking it drove me bananas, but reception expeditiously sent up a white noise generator which helped. The following day I received a call from Dave apologizing for the inconvenience. He sent up a bottle of wine which was brought up by a very friendly staff member called Jaime who also brought over extra bottles of water! During the stay I went to the pool/steam room/sauna. I believe it was Michael who gave us the tour and was very friendly. Loved the steam room. Pool was nice, but there's no hot tub - could be due to Covid. Also went to the bar and was attended to by Slava. Great guy and very friendly. The lobby was nicely decorated with a Christmas tree and plenty of ornaments which gave it a calm soothing feel. Loved the experience and would definitely stay again, even with the "creaking".

My husband and I stayed here one night for a little R&R. We have stayed at other Four Seasons properties and have always been impressed. Typically we stay at the Peninsula when in the city but decided to give this property a try. We were upgraded to a lakefront suite, which was a nice surprise. The staff were all friendly and welcoming upon check-in. The room was small but tastefully designed. Everything was going well until we realized that there was absolutely no way we were going to get any sleep at night. Apparently something to do with the hydraulics of the building, its tall height and its windy lakefront location come together and cause incessant creaking/crackling sounds all night. There was no sleep to be had. We thought it was strange that turndown service had left earplugs but there had not been any other warning prior to that. In retrospect the earplugs was our warning to get out and find a different hotel. As a previous reviewer had stated, we're not coming to the Four Seasons to wear earplugs in order to get some sleep. This sort of problem should have been disclosed prior to check in. As if a sleepless night wasn't bad enough, upon further inspection of the room we realized there was debris from prior guests that had not been cleaned. There were dress shirt pins scattered by the sofa that could have been dangerous had we stepped on them (see photo). When we called down to report this, the response was lukewarm. We basically wanted to see if they had a sharps container or someplace to dispose these so that housekeeping staff wouldn't get stabbed during room turnover. They stated they would send someone to clean it up but this person never showed up. When we called back down the person answering the phone feigned surprise that no one had come by to clean up the pins. By that point we just told them to forget it. It wasn't going to happen and we were due to checkout soon anyway. Our spa experience was very nice, however. I think I would return to the spa, but not return to this hotel. I think you have better options in the city that are comparably priced and provide a good night's rest and clean rooms. I would expect these sort of mishaps/problems at a mid-range hotel but not at a supposed 5-star property.

While the whole room had amazing views and modern amenities, it was very awkwardly designed. The bathroom was very outdated and tiny. We have never been to a 1 bedroom suite of any hotel and had such small and outdated bathroom. It only had 1 sink and bathtub with a shower (not separated). The tub had glass wall “door” that only covered half the tub so every time we took shower, the entire floor was wet. There was another bathroom on the other side of the room with shower but made it very inconvenient as it was outside the bedroom.
The check in staff was friendly very attentive. However, the concierge was very inattentive and at times very rude. The pick up ride that was booked by the concierge from the airport was terrible. The car was outdated, door that barely opened because it was dented and the driver that drove very recklessly. When I brought the concern to the concierge they responded by saying “that’s Chicago driver for ya!” And laughed it off.
Also, when I requested the House Car for a quick ride to our dinner 2 days prior, they responded by saying that it wasn't available. When I called before booking, they said it was available for rides within 2 mile radius. Our restaurant was 1.5 miles from the hotel. The concierge told us that it was “only 15-20 minute walk” and that was too short of a ride for a house car anyways. So I’m Guessing they only provide rides for 1.51-2.0 miles.
The room service staff was slow and hurried all the same time. The food took average of 50 minutes, forgot something every single order. When I called to let them know, an item was missing, they said, “I’m so sorry but it will take about 30 minutes to get that to you. Do you still want it?”. Our room had nice table with great views, so we asked to put the food there. None of them did as they convinced us that the better place was right in the middle of the living room. They looked like they were in a hurry so we didn’t argue.
Spent close to $5,5000 for 3 nights stay and I feel like I could’ve gotten same kind of service with better rooms at the Hilton for about $4,000 less. We understand that there are staff shortages as we are in hospitality industry ourselves. However, as a 5star hotel property that charges over $2,000 per night on the room, they should really take less reservations to take care of the customers or figure something out so that the service is much better. After all, at that price point, that’s what people are paying for: better and higher quality service. Waldorf Astoria, Langham and Madarin all provided that while we stayed during our various trips to Chicago.
Having stayed at multiple Four Seasons properties across the country and needless to say, this was absolutely the worst one out of them all.

Our kids first trip to Chicago could not have been better! We booked the Family Fun in the City package and it was fantastic! Make sure you schedule your visit from the Ice Cream man when you book your room because the time slots do fill up. Thank you to all the staff who helped make traveling with our children as memorable as possible! They loved all of the goodies at check-in, the snacks and extras that were waiting for them when we would arrive back after a long day of exploring the city. A special thanks to the concierge team who sent up another stuffed "Sammy" after our original Sammy went for a swim in a toilet while attending a show! The pool is amazing and we had it all to ourselves for an hour or so on a Friday afternoon. My kiddos love the Home Alone movies and it was a real treat for them to swim in the pool from Home Alone 2! I can't tell you how many times I heard my kids reenact the movie scene "Would it bother anyone if l worked on my cannonballs?" Room service was prompt and delicious every morning for breakfast. The location is great, we were able to walk to dinner at Gibson's and Lou Malnati's were we had fantastic meals. Over all we couldn't have had a better trip, thanks again Four Seasons Chicago for everything!

My wife and I were guests of the Chicago Four Seasons this past weekend. Our whole experience was excellent. From arrival and check-in, to the room (what a view), to in-room dining, to cocktails in the beautiful lobby, we felt very pampered. The lobby is undergoing significant changes to be brighter and more contemporary. It’ll be fun to see it when the rest of the lobby, the restaurant and bar renovations are complete.
The friendly and professional service remains unchanged and unparalleled. From the doormen to housekeeping staff, no hotel in Chicago treats guests better or offers a better stay. Don’t stay away during the construction.

I stayed at the Four Seasons during NBA All-Star Weekend. The first night of my 5-night stay was sleepless, as noises from plumbing, guests upstairs, and constant creaks from the wind kept me awake all night. Thankfully I had a friend staying at a neighboring hotel and was able to sleep there for my next 4 nights. After night 3, earplugs were left on the nightstand with a note saying that the wind was the root of the problem for the noise. Sorry, I'm not staying at the Four Seasons to wear earplugs in order to sleep.
The restaurant and bar were closed due to renovations, and the pop-up restaurant was in a bland conference room. Again, not something I expect from the Four Seasons.

I want to give this hotel 5 stars but the pool situation with the kids is out of control. I picked this hotel because of the pool and it was over ran with children. They have an adults only time but it’s from like 9pm to 10pm. If I’m in downtown Chicago that’s the last place I’ll be at 9pm. I highly recommend they find a solution or make two adults only times. 1pm-2pm and 9pm-10pm.
The room had an amazing view and the staff was very friendly. Valet parking is expensive so be prepared. The complimentary coffee, got chocolate was outstanding and it’s connected to a shopping plaza so that’s nice. Great location as well.
