Hotel Chicago West Loop offers a mixed bag for travelers, who praise its convenient location near local attractions and transit. The staff often receives compliments for their helpfulness, and guests value the added convenience of in-room fridges and microwaves. However, the hotel's value proposition is debated; while the location and price are seen as pluses, additional fees and parking costs are drawbacks. Room size and outdated amenities are common concerns, and while cleanliness is generally commended, there are notable exceptions that leave some guests dissatisfied.

Our stay was near perfect with this hotel. We arrived a couple of hours before check-in due to our transit arrival times and asked to drop our luggage off to be stored until we could properly check-in. The front desk staff member was super accommodating to the point that she let us check-in early to set our luggage down in our room and grab a quick shower after traveling all morning.

The hotel has some great amenities including a microwave and mini fridge in room as well as a great fitness room that is open around the clock. The staff are very friendly and inviting; they make it feel closer to what home feels like. The hotel is in a great location, about 20 minutes west of downtown Chicago via subway, and the nearest subway station is about a block and a half away, so that is super convenient. The room we had was on the smaller side, but we were really only in the room to sleep and shower, so that was not a problem for us at all. An added bonus to our room was that we could see the top of the Willis Tower, and it was beautiful to see, especially at night when it was lit up.

I could go on about how much we enjoyed our stay at this hotel, but I will end it with the fact that I would strongly recommend staying at this hotel when traveling to the Chicago area. If you have any questions, call the hotel and a staff member will be glad to answer your questions (as they were with us when we called). We plan to stay here again should we return to Chicago!

A tired, shabby and dirty hotel….Amenities I think we’re good although we didn’t use them and the bed was very comfortable. Take your own pillow though as these pillows are rock hard and high, so unless you place under your shoulders and sleep on your back, you are asking for neck trouble. I asked for another couple of bath towels to use as a pillow which I folded.

We changed from business king room to queen room as forgot queen is bigger in the us, it’s the opposite in uk. On asking we told we could change rooms immediately as room is ready…ready to be cleaned more like!!

Owner has owned this hotel for about 5/6 years and is doing it up…the bed is good, sheets didn’t fit though which was annoying if you move a bit in the night. Surfaces, skirting and floor dirty, needed a jolly good vacuum and mop. So thinking on this basis let’s not use the fan over the bed.

The queen room had a full size fridge/freezer, a microwave and a coffee machine. Be warned the fridge came on once or twice each night and that was without using it and was noisy.

The bathroom was an ok size, no plug in the basin, and on opening the cupboard they did supply toothbrushes and a razor in case you forgot. The shower was a nice size and was clearly newish and they did supply shampoo, conditioner, shower gel. The water that dribbled out was just ok and took a while to rinse long hair….

The few members of staff we met were nice and friendly, as there was a kind of mini gym which had luggage in….

This hotel offers comfortable accommodations at an unbeatable price given its proximity to downtown.
Tucked away in the popular west loop neighborhood (where you’ll find some of the city’s finest restaurants) and blocks from the United Center (home to the Chicago Bulls and Blackhawks), the exterior is unassuming, but once inside, you’ll find a friendly staff, clever decor, and clean (albeit small) rooms with large-screen TVs, internet, microwave, etc. Self parking is adjacent to the hotel. Highly recommended.

This hotel is not worth the price. It was not clean, the room was sparse and small, the towels were tiny and did not cover my body, there was no housekeeping even though I stayed 4 nights and requested someone come replace my towels and take out my trash. I would certainly not recommend paying over $200 a night when you can go to a Hyatt etc for the same price and much cleaner, better service. Those working at the front desk were kind, though, and made my stay slightly less bad.

I stayed here while in town for a concert at the United Center, and it was great only being a 10 minute walk away. The hotel is also within 10-15 minutes of blue and green/pink L line stops, so it was super easy to get around the city.

Every staff member I talked to was super nice and helpful. I wish there was more thorough housekeeping -- there were crumbs on the floor of my room when I arrived, and if you want housekeeping to come during your visit you have to make a special request.

My room was at the front of the hotel, so there was a good amount of noise from the road, but the minor inconveniences were worth the excellent price. I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in Chicago.

While this is one of the hotels with smaller rooms they use their space incredibly wisely and all of the rooms have fridges and microwaves. There's art everywhere, and staying here is always a delight. If you want a great experience with a lot of value for your money, stay here.

If you are staying to visit someone in Rush hospital, this is the place to stay. There is a parking garage 50 feet from the hotel with overnight rates cheaper than the hospital hourly rates. I walked two blocks to the hospital through a good neighborhood with no issues. They also had a shuttle if the walk is too much or weather doesn't permit.

This was my first trip to Chicago since the COVID-19 pandemic. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the room and general areas as well as the employees and guests wearing masks.
The front-desk staff and other employees were friendly. The hotel was conveniently located and the price was reasonable. I would stay at this hotel on my next visit to Chicago. Michael at the front desk was very helpful when I called earlier in the week and was at the desk when I registered. I would say you have a great team!

The cleanliness of the hotel was below average, the bathroom was not properly cleaned. The hallway carpet was dirty and sticky, We also had a roach in our hotel room that we seen the last night. The bathroom door did not properly shut. Thankfully we were only there to sleep. The bed was not that comfortable and I suggest bringing your own blanket as they have a very thin one of the bed. Also be prepared to park in the public parking deck or on the street (where hopefully you can find parking) the hotel only offers parking passes first come first serve basis which is not disclaimed until arrival. Rooms are small an walls are thin you can hear everything. Decent location, we felt safe as you have to have a keycard to enter hotel and surrounding area felt safe. Close proximity to a lot of attractions..

It felt like we were staying in a retrofitted apartment building with extremely neglected room furnishings and decor. Despite being non-smoking, the room had clear smoking stains from years of abuse. Cabinets and closet were falling apart, and everything was extremely cheap / falling apart.

Housekeeping did not appear to do anything to the room during the stay, which I am not accustomed to. Coming back to the room from a day out to a made bed and clean room is something I'd expect from any hotel and even a motel in many cases.

In our case we were unable to take a comfortable shower as there was no hot water. Unsure if it was just being overconsumed by other guests or if the water heater was broken / set too low.

Front desk staff was as friendly as you would expect, but did not really feel like it was worthwhile to complain or bring anything up to staff. Everyone seemed introverted and disinterested in the guests - probably just standard social experience post-COVID nowadays.
