Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hard to believe in the middle of nowhere (sorry Millers Flat) there is such gem. Only sad part is we only had one night stay as we were biking the Roxburgh Gold cycle way. Cally & Wendy are the perfect hosts serving restaurant quality food and offering luxurious cottages with all the comforts. We will certainly make a detour to stay again the next time we are in the South Island.

Quince Cottage is an absolute gem located in Millers Flat on the Clutha Gold cycle trail. Everything about this place exudes charm and class, and the attention to detail is incredible. Luxurious bed linen, delicious home made treats, decadent food….the list goes on. All this combined with the chat the laughs with Cally and Wendy makes this truely a joyful place to stay.

We stayed here for a night while biking the Clutha gold, it happened to be the hottest place in NZ on that day..32 degrees I think...so arriving we were ready to sit happily in the shade on the loungers and wait for our bags to arrive before taking advantage of the local community pool for a dip. This accommodation is so beautiful- the grounds are lovely and the cottage we stayed in was compact, perfect for a couple, and so very tasteful. Then came the dinner- My, my, my...3 courses - all cooked by Cally and you could well have thought you were in a Michelin restaurant. Taste sensation- breakfast was equally delicious and we got the packed lunch to take away which was very generous with home cooked goodies. Stay here- it is a real treat !

We have stayed at The Quince on four separate occasions, and are already planning our next visit. Hosts, Cally and Wendy are charming and ensure all the little luxury touches are there for their guests enjoyment. The food is outstanding and even our rather quirky palates were catered for. We can't speak highly enough of this little piece of paradise.

Our stay at Quince B&B was a joy from start to finish. Beautiful setting, clean, comfortable spacious rooms equipped with everything you need (including home baking), the most amazing evening meal we have had in a very long time, superb hostesses who went the extra mile with everything. Can’t fault this place at all and wish we had stayed longer. Definitely highly recommend.

This place is amazing. The setting is beautiful and the accommodation is fantastic. These things are only eclipsed by the absolutely stunning dinner. If you stay here you must eat in. It is fine dining quality food. Cally and Wendy are great hosts too.

Six of us stayed here a night while doing the Clutha bike trip. What an absolute gem of a place! Cally and Wendy are superb hosts, interesting to chat to and their Quince gin worth a taste. The accommodation was 5star BnB, our three course evening meal superb, and breakfast was an abundance of lovely fresh local produce and home made muesli and jams. Local wines available too.Gorgeous gardens and its right on the bike trail. Highly recommend staying here!

A superb stay while cycling the Clutha Gold trail. Cally provided excellent service and high quality accommodation, and topped it off with the most delicious three course dinner and wine. I highly recommend this B&B.

This is an excellent place to stay while doing the Clutha Gold Trail. The accommodation is really well equipped and comfortable, and allows indoor and outdoor time. Very quiet. Very clean. Cally and Wendy really are wonderful hosts, and Cally’s meals are exceptional. It was one of the highlights of my trip.
