Nice cabin, well constructed. However, it's lacking in several areas. But it is the only property available in Lowman proper, so it's not like you have a lot of choice. There is no regular staff available, and you're sort of on your own. Food and beverages are not available except on an unreliable hit-or-miss basis, so bring your own. No phone service, no TV, but we accept that. You have to make reservations through a booking agency, Agoda (in Singapore, it seems), and if you have questions or needs or observations, you have to submit emails through the agency, who will submit them to the owners (in Boise?). The owners respond nicely, but any information they send you with phone numbers or links to help you out is redacted by Agoda "to protect your information." Entirely useless. Our biggest problem was with the cipher lock on the front door. No comprehensive instruction on how to operate it, and it's "maybe I will, maybe I won't" work to open/lock for you. We left for the day when it wouldn't lock, so we just took our chances that no one would enter our cabin. The fridge was nice, as was the microwave, but there is no sink to wash dishes other than in the bathroom. Speaking of which, we were forced to ration the TP, as there was only a partial roll available. There is no adjacent parking for loading and unloading, just signs saying to not drive on the grass. If you're short of stature, bring a ladder to climb into the "rustic" log bed. My wife had to hook her foot over the bottom log and inch her way up onto the mattress (which was comfortable). All in all, the price for our stay, weighed against what we received, was at least 40% too high.

We hadn't eaten there for a while. When we got there all they offered was the choice of a hot dog or a hamburger. It was cooked outside on a propane grill. I was a little disappointed, but I was more disappointed when we were charged $35.00 for two cheeseburgers and soda in a can. At one time they had a decent restaurant. I'm not sure what happened.

Great place to eat and have a drink while you relax along the south fork. So sad the owner passed away this month. He will be missed. Hopefully it will reopen with a new owner who also cares about creating a great dining experience

I hate writing a negative review, however my husband and I looked online at the Southfork Lodge for room availability. It said that they were booked, so just to be sure I called them. The gal that answered the phone verified that all rooms were indeed booked. She did mention that if a room became available, they'd call us. She did call us at almost 3:00pm (this was a Saturday) and said that a room became available. With the fact that all rooms were booked but the website stated that the lodge and lounge/bar were only open when staff permits, I figured I better ask. Lowman is a two+ hour drive for us, so we would have been arriving there well after check-in. I asked that based on the note on the website when their lodge and lounge/bar would be closing, plus if this was a pet friendly room, and she did verify the room and said that our dog was not allowed to be left alone in the room and needed to always be leashed outside of the room, understandably. However she never did answer my question about the lodge and bar but did happen to mention that our dog would be more than welcome on a leash on their patio for dinner. I was good with that and left to assume that based on her comment that they were open. Never at any time did she mention that they would be closed then or that night, it was a summer Saturday for heavens sake. We were specifically heading up there for dinner in the lodge and to enjoy the bar/lounge area. We arrived around 5:30-6:00pm to find the lodge completely closed, restaurant and bar area both. It was a ghost town! I completely understand being short staffed, but just be honest. Especially after just speaking with her on the phone and her knowing where we were driving from and asking her specifically what time they'd be closing, to blatantly not say a word just to rent the hotel room is bad business! We brought nothing with us to eat or drink. There was nowhere to grab a bite except 15-20 miles further down the road. At this point, I was furious! We had spent quite a bit of money on this room. Definitely NOT worth it, no T.V., stuff left in fridge from prior guests, room smelled musty and the mosquitos were overwhelming! To top it off, my card was overcharged. Shocker! More importantly it's the fact that she had me on the phone and did not mention one word about the lodge! She said it was sent to me in an email that I never did receive. This was definitely a bait to ensure that they didn’t lose money on the room. Lowman is a nice quiet small town, it's unfortunate that this establishment conducts business this way.

Incredibly cute property and the interior of the rooms seem to have been recently updated. Rooms were huge and right along the creek. Wonderful to have a restaurant on site. The food was excellent, service was spot on. You can tell this place has the potential to be the hot spot of the area once staffing and business matters are attended to. Can't wait to come back when everything is back to normal operating status. Wireless doesn't reach to the rooms, only in the lodge, no phone or TV in rooms and no Verizon cell service (AT&T works), so be prepared to be off grid for the most part.

We had reservations for July !9th 2021. We received an email today from Southfork Lodge cancelling our reservations. Today is July 15th. I booked this March 18th. No explanation just sorry for the inconvenience. It's a lot more than an inconvenience. Everything around Lowman is sold out.

We stayed in Cabin#1. My husband & I loved Southfork Lodge! We rented a car in Boise and made a circle around the state staying in one of the cabins the first few nights. Our cabin was quiet, cozy, super clean, well appointed, and comfortable. The shower offered great water pressure, blow dryer attached to wall and a really nice touch was the Culligan water purifier which was great for filling up our water bottles. A well constructed firepit was located on the grounds near the corn hole and horseshoe games. A grill was also on site but we did not utilize. The internet worked great dispite the remote location. We were aware that there was no TV but why would you want to watch TV when you could sit out on your front porch with a glass of wine and watch the wildlife and scenery?? This is a real sportmen's paradise as well, offering great hunting and fishing. If you are an outdoors person, horse back riding, ATV trails, etc. are in abundance. OR, if you just want to kick back, read a book and listen to the "babbling brook" (like me) this is the place for you! The owners sent an email explaining the restaurant was temporarily closed and offered suggestions on places to eat. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to return for a few nights at the end of our trip. Please give this place a try as I am sure it will not disappoint!
