It was great meeting Jon! He has great stories that make you feel part of his family. Well traveled individual with a story or 2 for every place visited. Took him 7 years to build this beautiful home. 3 years doing his waterfall/spa area! Definitely going back to "shoot the breeze" with him and play some darts and shoot a game of pool. Did I mention he has a Raquetball court... in his house? Awesome! Great time.

We found out about Frozen Dog Digs in the book "Off The Beaten Path, Idaho" so you know the location is a little out of the way but actually just 15 minutes or so from I-84. Jon, the owner and host, built the home with his father over a period of years and continues to add improvements like an outdoor kitchen under construction during our visit. On a beautiful rural setting above the small town of Emmett, Jon has built rooms like a racquet ball court, a library, a sports bar room filled with memorabilia ranging from baseball to F-1 racing, not to mention a pool table, huge TV & walk-in wine cooler. Once settled we were offered a beer or glass of wine and learned the history of the area, how he came to build the home, etc. A very attentive host who also produces a great breakfast with large portions.

Their hospitality was superb and thei facility was beautifully hand crafted as they have spent the last 30 years designing and building it themselves. This a father and son operation and it shows with the amount of detail and care they put into their service. The facility has a gazebo over looking the valley, our room had a great view, the eggs benedict served for breakfast was home made and delicious, and the grounds were well groomed with a beautiful fountain hand made by the owners. We were so impressed and will be back!

If ever there was a destination BB frozen dog would qualify. John is an impeccable host, great company, and an amazing cook. You will never eat the same thing twice no matter how long your stay. His travel stories and conversation are fascinating in addition to the museum like setting with a remarkable collection of various sports/ rock n roll memorabilia. Whether on the way to some where or just to go there you will not be disappointed and want to return.

My wife and I recently spent a few days in Emmett to celebrate a family event.
Jon was awesome, very open and informative of the area and history. The grounds and house were amazing, this is obviously a labor of love for Jon and it showed.
Breakfast were unique and WONDERFUL!
My only real criticism was that the bed was not overly comfortable and we were a little amused to see the rooms still had CRT TVs in them. The latter wasn't a big deal as we were almost never there (plus there was a big flat screen in the living area).
Thanks Jon, we will definitely be staying there on future trips.
Note that this is not a kid or pet place.

We recently stayed at the Frozen Dog Digs in Emmett, Idaho. What a fun experience we had. Jon was the perfect host who created a wonderful, unique atmosphere. The B&B was decorated with sports and movie memorabilia and items from his international travels. The landscaped grounds provided a waterfall, spa, outdoor bar and grill, chip ‘n putt golf green and plenty of places to relax. The breakfasts were different each day and were delicious. Jon offered an evening beverage and great conversation at the cool bar, complete with wine and beer on tap. The Frozen Dog Digs provided great value for the money and we plan to stay there again. If you are traveling to the area give it a try. You definitely will not be disappointed. Fantastic hospitality.

Very peaceful. Great cook. Great hospitality. Love the Gazebo and the view over Emmett. Also, great property just to walk around. The other guest were real nice and I never heard them. Great game rooms such as an indoor racquetball court and dart room. Great Bed and Breakfast! The Migels.

"Rin Tin Tin has it's own attached bathroom, which is nice for a B&B.
The Chow Chow suite looked great, having a spa tub and very large living area, but we only saw the room, we didn't stay in it."
"There are 3 average sized bedrooms, 2 of which use bathrooms down one level and the 3rd, The Rin Tin Tin Room has an attached bath with shower. There is also one large suite with jacuzzi tub and separate entrance."
