Detailed Reviews

Loved staying at this lodge. It had everything you could want for a trip to Cascade! We did some ice fishing and caught some delicious perch. Parking is plentiful, even if you have a trailer. Beds were comfortable. Internet works well and the wood stove, couch, and TV in the lobby area make a very comfortable place to relax. The owner and staff are great people and very helpful!

We went to Cascade Lake for a 4 day ice fishing trip and stayed at the HQ Birch Glen Lodge. Great spot attentive staff clean rooms and they set up a cleaning station in the back so you can clean your catch inside. W willbe back again. Thank you

We arrived and the bed frame and box spring were so broken so that one side of the mattress was sagging and a foot below the other side of the bed . Old food items were in the fridge. The light fixture over the bed was broken and hanging from the wall with exposed wires. The toilet seat wasn’t tightly connected to the toilet and slid when sat on. The motel WiFi signal was not strong enough to work in our room and we didn’t have signal from our mobile phones (Verizon service) in the room so communication was challenging. No staff in the front office or found on site during our one night stay. We called the number provided with our reservation and were moved to a different room. The next room had a burned out bulb in the main ceiling light in the bedroom and a bulb out in the bathroom. There was a dirty towel under the sink that looked like it was soaking up an old pipe leak. The bedding, towels, carpet, and surfaces were clean. The coffee maker (pot style) appeared not to have been recently cleaned. A mostly empty container of body wash was left with the provided toiletry items by the sink. No conditioner provided (only shampoo plus conditioner which left my hair feeling striped and dry). For over $170/nt this was a disappointing stay and not at all what I expect at that price point.

Lady working front desk was personable and willing to answer questions, appreciated. Property is dated as are rooms, would imagine there are repeat families. Game room and sauna and area where guests can cook in addition to microwave and refrigerator in room. Shower/tub. Good selection of channels and WiFi worked, though Verizon cell service spotty in room. Most enjoyed walking to back of property to trail that led to another paved/graveled trail along the river. Found out property has recently been sold and rates have gone up. Biggest things I would change in room, get rid of carpet and better blind on window. Room worked but are a bit overpriced for what you are getting.

Surprise #1. Pet fee is 20% of the room fee. Pet friendly yes, pocket book friendly, not so much. Rooms are clean, towels could be used as Sandpaper. Beds have some sort of plastic underneath the sheets, not good. My room had a very nice paddle fan, but no way to control it. Shower was good, no kleenex anywhere.

Pet fee is $12.00....It's the cheapest around and the cheapest I have ever heard of. It is listed on the website, front desk, and if you call. Definitely not a surprise.

We stayed at BirchGlen while in Cascade on a perch fishing expedition. We found the room to be perfect for what we needed - very clean, comfortable, and affordable. It's slightly old-fashioned; complete with a few mismatched paintings to add to the charm. It had a fully equipped kitchen and very comfortable beds and pillows. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. They even provided us a heated location to clean and bag our fish catch. We certainly will be staying there for our next fishing trip to Cascade.

This place is reasonably priced. The rooms are clean. They have a pool table, sauna and a lounge area with a big screen TV for hanging out. They are dog friendly. They are close to everything in Cascade including right next door to Kelly's Whitewater Park. But the BEST park about this place? The staff. The manager, Sharon is so helpful and friendly and will do everything in her power to make sure you have a great stay and all of the staff are cut from the same cloth. Great people, great stay and this review is based on only a 1 night stay!
I am in no way related to any of the staff or ownership and I have not been paid for this review.

My husband and I stayed for a weekend when we decided at the last minute to escape the city and head to the mountains. The customer service was fantastic- beginning with tips on when to arrive to avoid event traffic, to a room upgrade upon arrival.
The room was clean, had a comfy king bed, and a kitchenette.
There was a fire pit, outdoor games to play, a lodge with game tables and overall great location. The location is right in town but set back from the main road with plenty of parking.
The family working there couldn't have been nicer- checking to make sure everything was good, and very interested in making our stay the best it could be.
The room rates were reasonable and we would definitely go back.

I am so sorry I just noticed that there is this ability on Trip. The cowboy Room consists of (2) double size bunk beds and a sofa, full kitchen, two refrigerators, a kitchen table and then the regular motel room amenities. This is great for a large family or a group of contractors. Again I am so sorry for the delay in the answer. Please feel free to call anytime 208-382-4238 Sharon
