I noted the Sparrow as one of my preferred hotels to stay in when visiting Boise and Expedia had a fantastic rate. However, I had to go back and forth with Expedia to get it booked properly, and the agent at the Sparrow helped so much!
Upon arrival, we were impressed
by the property from the parking lot to everything in between, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful!
I received texts (the staff - Medina,Jordan & Ian communicated via text, which was truly convenient) with an offer to assist with everything from questions about the area to asking if we're celebrating anything. I responded with a "yes, birthdays." When we checked in, the room was, I believe, an upgrade from what we thought we'd were getting, as well as a handwritten card & a little box of a couple of delicious local chocolates on the foot of the bed.
The room is different from most hotels. There are decals on the walls that add so much to the feel/vibe of the room. We had sheep with numbers on them with a bit of Basque history (Boise has a large Basque community) of shepherding and counting sheep to sleep :).
There is a floor to ceiling window looking down on the street next to a couch (fold out?), a table with chairs, and a safe. There's also a little fridge too and a setup to make a cup of coffee.
Speaking of the street, the location is perfect for walking to just about everything you need. The room has a European touch as you need to put your card key on the slot by the door to turn on the lights. Thus, taking your card key makes sure you don't leave the lights on when you leave. This is a fantastic "green" touch. The ice machine/filtered water is in the entry of the elevator. There is a coffee shop in the lobby. There's also an Airtream (food truck) on property with a couple who does local sourcing for the best ingredients. I would recommend this hotel to business travelers, couples, tourists, and people looking for a change from the cookie cutter chain hotels. This hotel is a breath of fresh air with a personal touch, and I will stay here again.

Room Tip: Parking Lot is convenient. There is construction going on across the street, but we didn't hear it.

Love the bed bedding and amenities. I love the essential oil smell through the hallways. The staff is extremely humble helpful and friendly. Located walking to distance to a lot of yummy food! Parking is rather tight but was able to get a spot anyway. It’s a must stay

It’s clear they spent a lot of time considering not only what the rooms and spaces look like, but it functions very well. It’s a clean modern space, super comfortable bed, liked having a gooseneck tea kettle to brew tea at night and coffee in the morning. Bed and linens were just comfortable, and being there on a cold night in December, the robe was pretty grand. This particular week I drove a lot during my weeklong road trip and by far I wish there was a hotel this nice everywhere I stayed. Couldn’t be happier personally.

The staff is the highlight of this property being friendly and willing to help. The location is also quite good being central to downtown with many great amenities in the immediate vicinity. Room design is generally good though a bit quirky. The hotel is new (only open about 1 month at the time of this review) and has some kinks that need to be worked out/addressed. Hotel staff reached out to request feedback after the first night of my stay and were receptive to the feedback provided so hopefully the items I raised are addressed. For anyone with mobility impairments, they should contact the hotel to discuss needs as the property's only elevator is only accessible by stairs. They do have ground level (Courtyard) rooms available however the courtyard pavers having large gaps in them may present a challenge for certain mobility needs.

This place was a gem to find. My work decided to send me to a convention last minute, and I couldnt find a room downtown & happened upon The Sparrow. I'm so glad I stayed here. Friendly staff, quick check in, comfy bed, clean & cozy room, cute coffee shop (open 7am-9pm), outdoor fireplace & hang out area, games available to use, & only a 5-10 minutes walk to Boise Center & The Grove area. Many breweries, restaurants, shops just a few minutes walk. The parking was $15, & they will allow a late check out after Noon for a small fee per hour (so gratefult for this!). I will definitely stay here again. 🤩

Off the bat, walking into the Sparrow it has a super laxed and welcoming feel. The place smells amazing, felt like I was at a Pottery Barn. The beds and pillows are extremely soft. Ayla is super friendly. When my fam comes to visit they will for sure stay here!

I really enjoyed my stay at The Sparrow. The location is fantastic—there are so many bars and restaurants you can walk to, and I appreciated that parking is available. I stayed in a courtyard room, which made it convenient when I needed to take my dogs out. My room was very quiet and the bed was super comfy—the sheets were so soft. The front desk staff was very welcoming. I look forward to staying here again the next time I’m in Boise!

Everything here was clean and welcoming. The beds were soft, they use no plastic cups or utensils so it was nice to have REAL mugs, downstairs the Sparrow had a fun little restaurant with a cool fire pit area. The staff was so helpful and friendly. It was walking distance to everything downtown, and BSU is really close by if you’re in town for anything there.

Overall The Sparrow is a fun and trendy hotel with a great location. The bed was super comfortable but there were to many small things that will have me looking for another hotel before booking there again. It wasn't clear on the website but there is a daily $15 charge for parking. If your room is facing the alley, be prepared to be woken up around 5:00 a.m. by garbage trucks, beer delivery trucks and Sysco delivering to the bars/restaurants that share the alley. There is a very cute teapot in the room but no coffee. When your neighbor flushes the toilet, you will hear the water running through the pipes in the walls. There is a distinct signature fragrance in the hotel that my husband liked but I didn't care for it much. There is not a mini fridge in the room but one can be delivered upon request.

The positives about the hotel are LOCATION, attentive and friendly staff, and a really comfortable bed. On my next trip to Boise, I will likely book a nearby hotel with free parking and breakfast. I know the cost will be slightly higher but after adding the daily parking fee at The Sparrow, the cost difference isn't that significant.

Place was really nice. Sheets were lovely, bathroom was really well designed, water pressure in the shower was great, room was spacious, and the area surrounding the hotel was quiet (when we were here). Highly recommend this location to anyone needing a place to stay. P.S. They do have limited parking, $15/day. There is street parking right outside, but the hassle of maintaining the meeter almost wasn't worth it for us.
