Terrible experience. Nobody advised us that during our stay nobody will clean our room and change towels. We were out all day visiting the area and went to the beach to return to the hotel at 10 pm and find out our room was not made and dirty towels still in the floor. Also there was minimal toiletries in the bathroom for 2 people and 2 night stays. I am a Director of Sales for one of busiest hotel in Miami and our first priority are our guests. Would be nice to inform guests before hand what to expect.
I’ve been afraid to travel, but I’m glad I made Tampa my first stop! Everything was wonderful. Location was great, staff was amazing, and nightlife was great. They made sure to sanitize everything and everyone had on mask which was great!!
The staff made you visit feel like home. They are greeted you and talked to you. There was never a awkward silence. Front desk, cleaning staff, and maintenance staff all of them made you feel like we all knew each other forever.
My husband and I had an amazing experience with manager Michael’s Barros-Lawrence. He was able to pull strings and make a special accommodation for us, caring and compassionate enough to reach out on his own initiative to help us. His service was above and beyond what I’ve experienced in my entire life of hotel experiences. I will definitely be returning to this hotel time after time in the future, Michael is a gem!
Stay Report - 2/20 - 2/21 Location: The hotel is located in downtown Ybor City on 7th Avenue which is one of Ybor's Main Drags. Location wise if you want to be in Ybor it's phenomenal. It's also only about 15-20 minutes or so to TPA and you're close enough to I-275 that it's very easy to get around. Do note that Waze/Google directions do not direct you to the hotel's parking lot which is a little hard to find. There are plenty of public lots and street parking too if the hotel lot fills up. Hotel: A fairly nice urban style Hampton Inn with a brick façade and renovated rooms. Their fitness center is currently open as is the small outdoor pool. There's a large lobby with a single computer serving as a business center. Do note that there are only two elevators and waits are long at peak hours. Check In: Ah the irony of being checked in by an agent whose mask is under her chin while she explains its grab and go only due to COVID. This is in front of a big mask mandate sign. And the front desk manager was standing next to her so clearly they don't care. On the plus side I was thanked for being Diamond and given my choice of welcome snacks and drinks. Room: Very nice. I like the renovated design and it's nice having a large TV, work area, renovated shower, outlets near the bed and good Wifi. On the other hand soundproofing is awful. You can hear every word said outside (from the 3rd floor) or the hallway. Breakfast: Pathetic. As bad as any hotel is doing and this is in a city with no indoor dining restrictions. They out of be embarrassed to serve this when rates are $200+ a night. Overall good for Ybor but way overpriced. You'll save money staying at TPA and Ubering each way. …
