I stayed one night here for business, but every interaction I had (from the valet, to the bellmen, to the front desk) was terrific. I want to give a shout out to Jason at the front desk, who was kind, personable, and helpful. The hotel is large, beautiful, and well-maintained, and there is a variety of restaurants (even a Starbucks!) on the property that are open for longer than I’ve seen at most properties. The location is ideal, near downtown and on the marina, which makes the valet-only parking understandable. My only complaint is that there’s a minimum charge of over $5 at the business center, even though it’s $0.59 per minute. I wish I had known that before I needed to print one document.

Really liked the hotel for the most part. Its a gorgeous building located on the water. Their is a trolley stop and water taxi stop right by the entrance. The lobby is really well done, and the rooms are as well. The fitness center and pool are both very good. There is a Starbucks attached to the lobby and a very good fancy ice cream shop just outside the front entrance.
A few negatives:
The rooms do show a decent amount of wear and tear and some sloppy paint jobs in the bathroom especially. Despite that, the bed and bathroom were clean and comfortable.
The club lounge is still closed....over a year since the pandemic began. As a Platinum member, I was given a $10 breakfast voucher per day to use at any of the restaurants. $10 gets you a basic continental breakfast at the restaurant or you can put it towards anything else, which I did on the first day to get eggs, bacon, hash browns, and toast, which was tasty. The second day I used the voucher at Starbucks for a large coffee drink and a breakfast sandwich. $10 is too small. They should make it $20 for elite members to cover a proper breakfast. OPEN THE CLUB LOUNGE! Its time to do it.
Tip: You are allowed to use the gym and pool at the JW Marriott attached via the 3rd floor skybridge. Both facilities are nicer and the JW has free water bottles in both areas, which the regular Marriott does not.

Bruce went above and beyond to ensure that our experience was amazing. He was constantly moving- circling the pool to ensure that towels were picked up, trash was thrown out, and that everyone was enjoying themselves. He was unbelievably hardworking and ALWAYS had a smile on his face. I am thankful to Bruce for making our pool day experience fabulous and will definitely visit this Marriott again. Awesome awesome!

We lived at this hotel during a road trip around Florida during Covid time.
This Marriott hotel is at a great location. It is very close to the convention center and it is in close proximity to a tram that can take you around the city. The view from the room is great as this hotel is surrounded by a lot of water. You can also take a bird/lime electric bike to go around and there are plenty of places that are within the distance of an electric scooter travel.
2 point off service: our luggage unfortunately took more than three hours plus three contacts to arrive. It seems our communication either to the Valet or the Front Desk was completely lost and our luggage stayed in our valet-parked car for the entire time. Also, we were placed in a room that is right next to the elevator. The room was nice but it was very noisy at night. Given the hotel was not at 100% capacity, I would appreciate if the hotel can give their Bonvoy members a better room.
1 point off cleanliness: During Covid, we have been very cautious during our stays in the hotels. We have stayed in about five Bonvoy hotels now and they seem to have a high standard of cleanliness. However, it does not seem to be the case here. The TV remote and the glass cups were not covered by any plastic cover (which seem to be the standard in other hotels). Also, I woke up with a red bump on my eyelid. Not sure if it is a bug or an allergen but the hotel needs to do a better job cleaning, especially during Covid.

Good evening, Thank you for choosing to stay at the Tampa Marriott Water Street and providing your honest feedback on the Guest Satisfaction Survey. Providing the highest level of hospitality is our number one priority and we sincerely apologize for falling short of meeting your expectations. Our valet, front office and housekeeping teams have all been made aware of these issues so that we may take steps to ensure these types of issues do not occur in the future. I see that it took you multiple times to track down your luggage over a very extended period of time, unfortunately sometimes there can be a miscommunications between the valet and front desk but we should always make sure that it is taken care of in the first try and within a timely manner. In regards to the room location, if this does happen again please feel free to let us know so that we can make sure to get you in a room away from any elevators as well as you are always welcome to request a room away from the elevators, before or at check in, as we are always happy to accommodate. We also understand these are different times we are living in and our practices are a little different. As we have heightened our cleaning practices as many other hotels have, we make sure that all rooms are sprayed and wiped with a peroxide multi surface cleaner to ensure the cleanest environment for our guest. Once again we apologize for these issues that you experienced during your stay and if you have any further questions or concerns or even if you find your travels bringing you back to Tampa please feel free to contact myself directly so that I may assist in making sure your next stay is a truly enjoyable Marriott experience. Thank you, Jonathan Medley Assistant Front Desk Manager Tampa Marriott Water Street jonathan.medley@marriott.com

On the pro side: the location is excellent, the lobby is large and beautiful. Our room and bathroom was clean, attractive and modern.
On the con side: Calling staff from the room took an age with the telephone ringing and ringing. There were no bath robes and no shower caps in the bathroom. We called down twice before they were eventually delivered to the room...and what strange bathrobes they were!.
We called room service for croissants, coffee and orange juice. It came in a brown paper bag. The orange juice was reconstituted juice in a plastic screw-cap bottle.
The croissants were certainly not freshly baked, the coffee was in a picnic box with a spout. Hampton Inn could have done better.. We have never experienced such low quality room service in a hotel of this type.
The bathroom floor tiles were not non-slip. They became very slippery when wet, which could cause a serious accident.
Although the check-in staff were pleasant and efficient, they were somewhat intrusive in their questions...for example asking if I was retired, and what I did for a living. Too familiar for my liking.

Enjoyable stay at Tampa Marriott Water Street while I was in town to attend my graduation. The Tampa Convention Center was conveniently located across the street and the Tampa Riverwalk was in the same vicinity...a stone’s throw away. I experienced a beautiful and calming view as I took a leisurely walk along the Riverwalk to the local Publix on Bayshore Blvd. Hotel service was excellent; my query about my bill was clearly and professionally explained to me on the first day of my stay. Housekeeping was very attentive when I asked for more shower supplies. My only complaint was that no shower caps were provided with bathroom supplies; a customary product that’s provided at most hotels. All in all, a very comfortable and pleasant stay in a hotel with eye catching decor. Check out the Garrison Tavern which is accessible from the hotel lobby...their fish tacos and Cajun Shrimp bisque are to die for👍🏾

Marriott hotel chains do not disappoint. This hotel is impeccable, service is excellent, rooms are clean and spacious. The location has great views of the bay, you have the choice of self-parking for $15 or valet for $35.

I stayed here this past Saturday night with a friend in separate rooms. As we arrived we had 2 options for parking, valet or self park. The attendants really helped us out by giving us some good advice. There was an event (Gaspariila Parade) in town so we self parked in a parking garage a block away for a lot less than valet. Once we parked, we checked in which was quick and easy. We had rooms on the 7th and 17th floors. I entered my room and was taken back how clean, updated, spacious and gorgeous it was with a view of the riverfront! So for the room, A+. The lobby was beautiful and large with lots of areas to sit down and relax. It was centered around the two restaurants within the hotel. Really nice and spacious area. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful when I asked about areas around the hotel. I entered the Garrison Tavern and sat at the bar to have a drink but no bartender was available and left after several minutes. Not good. Other than that, everything else was excellent and I really enjoyed this stay. I would definitely be back.

My best friend and I just stayed here last weekend. We came into town for the Flyers/Lightning game. This hotel is within walking distance (less than 5 minutes) from Amalie Arena. Hotel rooms were very quiet (we were staying on the 4th floor) even though the hotel was always buzzing with people. Hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful, our TV remote wasn't working and a staff member quickly came up and switched it out for a working one.

Hotel breakfast was good and standard. We did not partake in the buffet although we did hear great things about it.

The hotel pool was a delight after a North Eastern winter. The pool was heated, plenty of seating for groups poolside and the bar opened at 10:30. Both bartenders we interacted with (Shawn and Gerry!!!) were extremely friendly and helpful. They even begin grilling and serving food at 11, we didn't partake we had reservations to another place in the city but it smelled great!

Would absolutely stay here again when in Tampa even though it was a bit on the pricier side.

The rooms are updated and the decor is excellent. The rooms are very clean.
I had a fantastic dinner at the Anchor and Brine Restaurant. You can dine outdoors even in inclement weather because they can close the top blinds. The fitness room is a nice size with decent equipment, but it's still a good idea to arrive early in the morning as it gets busy.
