Housekeeping gets 5 stars. These ladies are on it. Room was very nice. Double beds no smoking. That's the good news.
The "pool game" that others had written about I had no problem Friday or Saturday. It was opened each and every time that I asked. But Sunday was the clincher. The morning desk guy, about 10AM, says no swimming until the pool is cleaned and the pool guy would be there soon. A pool guy on a Sunday, right. I go back about 2PM and was again assured he would be there. Either the pool guy is lying, he's non-existent, or I am being lied to.
Try telling a nine year old. I go back about 4PM, different desk person who says he should be there soon but no one can find the key that unlocks the gate so the pool guy won't be getting in anyways. Either the pool guy is lying, he's non-existent, or I am being lied to. Again. I asked her why it felt so warm in the lobby and she says she cut off the AC because it was blowing out cool air. It was 101 degrees outside. I thought first to say that the lobby is for the comfort of the guests too but it was hard to speak with someone on a cell phone.
Management will come along and say this will be handled but after reading the other reviews I find that hard to believe. Post the pool hours and if staff wants to close the pool on Sundays then post that too. I find the lying annoying. Even my nine year old wasn't buying it.

We stopped for the night on road trip home. I read reviews before booking and I think that too many folks have high expectations for a budget price hotel. The hotel is an older facility, however the room was clean as could have expeced, appreciated the wood floors (yes I am sure they were dirty, but arent they all) and no carpet. They have added lights with power and USB connections for techy travelers. Breakfast was basic, but more than some I've stayed in. Bonus, next to a Waffle House.

Nice room around back. I needed a double to have the grandchild stay over with Paw Paw. Clean room, no stains, very small coffee pot but there's a Waffle House next door. They open at 7:30.
As far as some of these bad reviews? Tell the desk you want to see the room. They hold your driver's license, you walk to the room, check it out, return to the desk and that's that. People have been doing this for a hundre years. When you just get a key and hope for the best then you don't stay at hotels very often. A cigarette butt on the ground? Oh my!

Stay Elsewhere!! Dirty and broken room, unfriendly staff, bad breakfast, rundown building, it was so bad we were suppose to stay a week and we checked out as soon as we saw daylight. The room smelled like weed, the carpets were soggy and stained and the only redeeming quality about this hotel was how close other hotels are to it. Don't, just don't.

I don’t write many of these but to just to let the next person know what to expect. They are in the middle of doing some renovations. That’s great.
However the front desk guy probably couldn’t have cared less I was there but got me a room. My reservation requests non smoking. First room reeks of smoke. We try and bear it but after about 30 minutes and a headache I asked to be moved.
Same guy, didn’t seem concerned. Just swapped out the keys for a new one.
Second room no smoke. Good. Air conditioner is louder than the tv that’s on.
Overall I get it’s in renovation mode, but engaging front desk people and finished rooms would be preferable.

The tv required two different remotes to work it. The receptionist, very kind lady, came up and made it look easy but 20 minutes later when I tried to simply change the channel it ended up with job offers for the city and there it was stuck. IMHO, when you lay down $87.50 for a room including using points you should get one, not two, remote.

I was checked into a room and, when I came in, I discovered that half the paint on the ceiling in the bathroom was peeled off and there was black mold underneath. The room strongly smelled of mold. When I came to the front desk the young lady promised me a refund but said it would be in the morning and refused to put anything in writing. When I called Priceline, she told them I would get a refund “probably”. When I continued discussing the issue with Priceline, she demanded that I leave the premises and cursed me out. Upon contacting them for the fourth time, the manager told me that I already posted a bad google review, so they will not be issuing a refund.

To my surprise, when I got to the hotel, my reservation was for a smoking room. When I asked to change the reservation to a non-smoking room, the female attendant got the worst attitude. Even after explaining that my wife has asthma and battering cancer was not a motive for her to help.
In the end, she cancel my reservation but did not want to give a confirmation and called the cop on my family.
I wish Windham could do something about this but unfortunately, nothing will happen.

The room was clean and the staff was very nice. I definitely will use this hotel again the next time I'm passing through Tallahassee. Finding the ice machine between the two buildings, was the only challenge, but the staff helped point me in the right direction. By the way, the ice machine is next to the washer and dryer, just in case you need to get some laundry done quick.

I always break up my trip to NOLA and spend the night in Tallahassee traveling from and returning to Miami. Easy to call en route and use a coupon to schedule an overnight stay and get a handicapped room plus the location is ideal. Easy access from I-10. Rooms are clean, comfortable and the handicapped showers are excellent. My only criticism is regarding the mini-fridge. It should have a freezer compartment and the interior should be colder.
Staff is very polite and accommodating. Breakfast is just okay due to the pandemic restrictions, but their in-room coffee is excellent!
