Hey Wyndham, this is for your eyes. If you're going to put your name on a hotel, the hotel should come up to your standards. This one does not, and I hold you responsible, not the staff at this Howard Johnson's—who are helpful, cheerful, and clearly trying to do the best job they can. You've got to update this place—in our room, every rack and shelf was literally falling off of the wall, all of the furniture and carpet need an update, and general maintenance is way overdue. Even so, the staff kept our room clean and everything worked—the TV, the shower (which did look like it had been updated recently), the lights, and the HVAC. The beds were comfortable, and the place is quiet and orderly. Put some money into this place so this nice staff can be proud to work here. This is on you, Wyndham. Do it.

This hotel is very dated and in dire need of updating/renovation. We checked out 3 rooms and they all smelled too strong of chlorine that we could not stay. Won't stop again. The fellow at the front desk tried his best to check a number of rooms for us and was very helpful. He should go to work for another hotel.

Quality was bad, really need an upgrade. Dirty bedsheet, broken window etc. since I had no time and needed a shower and some sleep it was kind of okay for a quick stop on my road trip. Didn’t feel very safe and wasn’t well lit though. If you drove an electric vehicle one plus point is that the Tesla Supercharger is relatively close.

This hotel stay was AWFUL!! Checked in after 4 an out room still wasn’t ready. Waited 10 minutes before we could get in an then on top of it only one bed had a spread house keeper said she would bring the other never did. Secondly the tv nor the air conditioner worked which we didn’t find out until everyone had left a mind you I had a toddler who had to sleep with NO AIR!! The places was filthy an stunk the bathroom tub had mold someone else’s hair the pillows shouldn’t even be considered pillows. All the sheets that were on a the single bed spread had stains all over them. Worst stay ever. I would like a refund an have no idea how to go about getting one.

I booked this hotel using hotels.com. I only needed a night stay so I figured how bad could it be. It was a nightmare from the moment my teenage daughter and I arrived. We asked if there were towels in the room, the answer was:,there should be, if not, they will be ready in 15 mins. Get to our room and the toilet had urine and paper in it. Went to the front desk, and asked for a different room. The next room had no toilet paper nor towels and it smelled really bad. By that time, more and more sketchy looking men were all hanging out outside our door. We were scared to even sit on the bed. Needless to say, we left. The next day, I contacted the front desk. I was told that my experience was going to be shared with a manager named Heather. She never called me, of course. The following day, I called again, and by chance Heather picked up the phone. Not once she apologized for the terrible service we received. She said she would call me back by the end of the day. I’m still waiting for the call and refund. My advice is: don’t ever step foot in that drug hole. It’s poorly ran and it’s not safe. I will be following up with Better Business Bureau, code enforcement, and the health department.

Rest assured we have seen the same issues with the property as you have indicated in your post. We have plans already laid out to completely remodel the entire hotel. Everything from the exterior landscaping challenges to the furniture and case goods in the rooms, reinstating plans for breakfast and a complete refresh and retraining of the team in order to serve you better! Room was very dirty, floor was greasy even with sneakers, did not take shoes off the entire stay, did not shower due to lack of trust in cleanliness. WIFI was slow to the point of being unusable and could not get any work done. There was a bug or two, thankfully not near the bed. Outside was rundown and the A/c units drain the water onto the sidewalks causing a safety hazard and the chance to track dirt into your car.

I paid for a hotel reservation at Howard Johnson by Wyndham Tallahassee through Priceline for 5 nights. On my flight to Tallahassee, my first flight was delayed, and then, there was a medical emergency on the plane that kept us from disembarking in Charlotte. I ran to my gate for my flight to Tallahassee, but I missed my connection and wasn't able to get another flight to Tallahassee until the next day. I had to spend an unplanned night in Charlotte.
I called Howard Johnson four separate times to ask them to hold my room even though I would not be there until the next day. I was not attempting to ask for a refund. I was just trying to get them to hold my room for the night. I fully expected to pay for all 5 nights even though I would only be staying 4 nights.
The next day when I arrived in Tallahassee, I immediately went to the Howard Johnson to check in. They told me that they had not answered my call because "sometimes the phones mess up" and that they had sold my room to someone else and had no other available rooms. I asked about getting a refund, but they said that I would have to contact Priceline to get a refund.
I booked another hotel through Priceline and contacted Priceline about getting a refund for the reservation at Howard Johnson. Even after I explained the situation to Priceline about how their vendor did not fulfill the contract, they said that they would need to contact the Howard Johnson in order to get me a refund for an approved cancellation. Again, I was not trying to cancel. I just wanted them to uphold my reservation or refund my money. Howard Johnson did not answer the phone for Priceline either. Priceline said they would escalate the situation for their team to email the Howard Johnson and investigate, but I didn't hear back. I called Priceline again, and we went through the same process where they could not contact the Howard Johnson via phone and needed to contact them via email. After a while I heard back from Priceline that they would not be giving me my money back because Howard Johnson did not approve my cancellation.
I called Priceline back again to reexplain that I was asking for a refund due to a failure to fulfill the contract, and they said they couldn't do anything about getting my money back unless it was approved by Howard Johnson, the vendor who refused to fulfill the contract. I even had my father call on my behalf, and he received the same information from Priceline.
I have still been refused a refund of the $363.75 that I spent on this reservation.

Arrived after the FSU/FLA game to find that the manager had quit. Waited almost an hour before another employee arrived. This property is disgusting. Several people were waiting before the employee arrived. There was stories of rooms not being clean when people did check in, bedding and towels in rooms not being clean, and room conditions just poor overall. I decided to make the 3 hour drive home at midnight instead of staying in this place and asked about getting a refund. The employee took my number and told me she would give it to the owner. I have not heard from anyone yet. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT stay in this place. It needs to be bulldozed. I would give it zero stars if possible.

The property is not what was advertised and should be condemned. When one things of the Howard Johnson, the long standing history of customer service and quality comes to mind but that was not my case with this property. 1. I attempted to contact the hotel for several days leading up to my stay and no one answered my calls. Customer Care attempted to call on my behalf no one answered their calls. It was not until the day before my stay someone actually answered the phone. 2. Upon arrival the property appeared to be disheveled and unpresentable. However it was too late to cancel my reservation. When I went to my room it appeared that the property is being used as a long term/residential facility in addition to a standard hotel. This was not advertised on the website. 3. The room had SEVERAL issues: there was no telephone, there was no smoke detector, the leather on the furniture was torn, there were no covers for the bed only a flat and fitted sheet, there were holes in the towels, the room had two roaches that were killed, there appeared to be feces smeared on the bathroom wall, the iron did not work and I had to walk to the front desk for a replacement (I could not call because there was no phone). The outlet was a fire hazard and once the iron was plugged in there was a shortage with the electricity to the lamp. There was an exposed cut cable line from the wall. The Roku TV was defective as it appeared that previous guest damaged the television. The toilet paper holder has rusted metal. There was a dirt ring inside of the tub. The bathroom vent was dirty. The photos are a complete misrepresentation of the property. I do not recommend this facility to other guest. It should be condemned and completely renovated because there are several health and safety violations. As a result of the unsafe conditions I ended up leaving the property around 6am. When I attempted to go to the front desk to express my concerns, again no one was at the desk and the door was locked.

I've gone to this location many times over the years and it breaks my heart to tell you to never go here.
The first room was dirty, nothing was plugged in and the tables were supposed to have glass tops but they didn't.
The second room was better but not by much. It was still dirty, the privacy lock didn't have a switch thing, and the AC was loud and didn't have a control panel. The water never got hot and there was dirt on the box spring mattresses.
I requested a refund through booking.com but because I used a third party booking place, they refused. Please if you values your safety and sanity, don't go here.
