Stay Report 12/14 to 12/15
Location: The name is not very accurate. The hotel is located on US 27 a mile east of the capitol and everything else that's located downtown. It's on a street with a number of chain restaurants and strip malls which isn't necessarily bad but if you're planning to be downtown I'd think twice. Being on US 27 at least makes the driving around easy and TLH is only 20 minutes away.
Hotel: An aging suburban Courtyard with a real courtyard. It's a long two story building with an interior courtyard that contains the pool. Thankfully there's lots of parking around the hotel. The lobby is also nicely redone and has a bistro as well as a small business center. The pantry also has local beer which is always a plus.
Check In: Sadly I was greeted by a really unfriendly agent whose sole sentences were "put your ID there. Insert your card there. You want points or the food and beverage credit?". Not what I expect as a Titanium.
Room: Really old. I haven't stayed at a Courtyard with the old red couches and red décor in nearly two years. On the plus side everything worked fine and there was even two bars of soap and a ballpoint pen and pad in the room. Those things I haven't seen since before COVID.
Overall a disappointing hotel. It's just too old even for the cheap price. I'll look elsewhere if I'm in the area.

This hotel has an excellent location, but it seemed like a lot of the guests were a bit sketchy. There were people loitering around every exit door, lots of people sitting in their cars for hours until late at night, pacing around the grounds, driving in and out of the parking lot really fast while blasting their supercharged stereo systems, etc. There were almost no families or female travelers at this hotel. It was mostly males, either alone or in pairs. I didn't feel safe using any door of the hotel except for the front door because of all the guys just hanging around the grounds.
The hotel itself is dark and musty, with extremely long hallways. It felt really creepy.

I stayed at this property for one night this past summer, and have since decided that despite a poor experience, the hotel deserved a positive review because of what they did to make things right!
I decided to stay in this hotel after a concert at an amusement park in a neighboring state, near the border with Florida, and wanting to get out of that awful state as quickly as possible after the concert. After a terrible day, made only slightly better by seeing my favorite band in concert, I was hoping for a good nights sleep at this property, which unfortunately did not happen according to plan.
Unfortunately the neighboring room was quite noisy, and I had to speak with the front desk, so the night auditor could try to call that room to ask them to quiet down. I am assuming I couldn't be moved due to hotel being fully booked, so I appreciated the night auditor doing what she could to try to make my stay better.
However, after the neighboring room finally quieted down, and I was able to get a little bit of sleep, I was awoken with a loud sound similar to that of an alarm, coming from that room. I eventually went back to the front desk, and this is where the night auditor, who was still working, did everything they could to make things right. She was able to go back to the room to confirm the noise, attempt to contact the fellow guests, and when it was determined they were no longer in the room, enter the room herself, and then call for help in stopping whatever was causing the loud noise.
Being that I was already trying to recover from a bad day, only to have an awful night, one might expect me to leave a completely negative review. However, the staff at this hotel provided me with the best possible service, and even gave me a late checkout and bonus Bonvoy points, to try and make up for an otherwise bad stay, due to issues beyond their control.
Overall, I am happy that despite my negative experience, the wonderful people at this hotel did what they could to mitigate the issues with my stay. While I don't expect a perfect stay when staying at a Marriott flagged property, I do expect service that is at least good. At this property, the service was Excellent!

I can provide a 5 star for cleanliness only with the exception of the interior of our room window. I was able to write "Wash Me" in the dirt & dust buildup. Overall I'd give this freshly painted hotel a 1 star with kudos for cleverly matching the exterior and interior design to the black and gray trash cans by the front door. Breakfast area was closed (covid, you know) but hotels from Gainesville, Pensacola, Biloxi and New Orleans all had their food service areas operating. They did offer morning only coffee....but no cups!!!! Absolutely depressing black and dark gray designs, room lighting is generous but choice of bulbs was another big miss. Bathroom light only comes on with a noisy, squeaky bathroom fan. Very, very disapponted with this hotel and highly recommend that anyone choose a different hotel.

I was extremely disappointed with the hotel. This was our first day during Covid and I expected the hotel to be much cleaner. Our room was not properly cleaned at all. There was a wet towel that was left behind the door of the bathroom. And there was an open water bottle in the refrigerator. Lack of cleanliness and attention to detail during COVID is absolutely unacceptable. I had to beg the front desk to be given sanitized wiped so I could wipe down the room and all of the surfaces. My daughter is a freshman at FSU. I anticipate a lot of visits- but won’t be staying at Marriott.

I am a fan of Marriott properties and always stay in them when possible. I booked this property due to an available room size ( 1 bedroom suite) for FSU's Parents weekend. I could rant and rave about the outrageous price gouging that occurs throughout lodging options in Tally for this weekend, but will concentrate on the condition of the room, not the $799 per night I paid for it (normally $144), all paid up front, non refundable.
The lobby looked kinda updated, staff on duty was nice enough, directed us where to park for easy access to the elevator. Walking in, greeted with the smell of wet dog (I think) and for the entire walk to our room (room 252) dirty worn out carpets. Checked into the room and soon after my daughter arrived, so really did not take a hard look at the room and just dumped our luggage and left with her. We returned later that evening and really began to take notice of the room. Dirty carpets with ground in dirt, a potato chip (I think) on the floor by the sofa, and in the bathroom, the shower ceiling with mold, and bubbling wall paint with a runny AC vent leaving stains on the wall, and dirty or missing grout. To be honest, I was just too tired to complain and there is no possible way the staff could not know the condition of the bathroom.
I got into bed and noticed what looked like blood or some similar stain on the comforter, gross! I just tossed it aside and let the noisy AC lull me to sleep, at least it kept the room nice and cold! The next morning we got going and I dropped my cell phone off the night stand between the beds, when I reached down to get it, I found a plastic fork next to the bed, I was afraid to peer down and look any further.
I see another review of room 252 here, that said "its great", it must have been an alternative reality, I am including pictures. This is not what is expected for a Marriott property.

Really disappointing. The communal areas were modern and well kept, but the rooms had nasty brown carpet and the room was really smelly. I also wouldn't have classed this as downtown, it was opposite a modern road of shops and at least 5 mins drive from the historic centre. Disappointed that we were told by reception that we were 'downtown' and so ended up in Chili's for dinner, completely missing the more authentic parts of the city.

Stayed at this property for 4 nights and didn't receive service not one night of my stay. On the third night we requested service for the following day. After being gone until 4pm we returned to our room and still wasn't serviced. We walked to the front desk and asked to speak to a manager to which Sean, Assistant GM came to speak to us and ensure the room will be service. We left the hotel once more and returned back at around 8pm and found our room still not serviced by Housekeeping. This was very disappointing and frustrating. Staying at a Marriott brand expectations are set at a particular standard and not receive cleaning after 3 night is beyond disgusting especially when we specifically requested service the night before and on our forth day with Sean and team members of the hotel staff. I will never recommend this property nor stay here again.

Easy check in
Friendly staff
Room 252 is an awesome suite, spacious, inviting, pool view, balcony, two TVs ….great lighting!
The bacon cheese and egg croissant from the bistro is ginormous!
Didn’t get to use the pool but it looks great!
The laundry machines are FREE!!!! Wowwwww!!!
My only complaint is it’s only one washer/ dryer… maybe a few more would help…I didn’t get a chance to wash until after midnight because the washer was always in use .
The hotel is conveniently located to everything

Can my son and I walk safely to The Capitol from this hotel? We will be staying for a week in April.
We are located less than a mile from the Capitol complex. Please be advised the FLDOT is currently working on upgrading the pedistrian sidewalks along the Parkway, between our location and the Capitol. There are alternate routes through the adjacent residential neighborhood however it will add considerable distance to the walk.
There is a public parking garage located less than a block from the Capitol building if you find the walk is beyond your capacity. The drive time is couple of minutes with light traffic.
I don't remember seeing one. Sorry not to be more helpful.
We are located in a beautiful suburban area, less than a mile from the Florida State Capitol complex and only a few blocks from Tallahassee’s premier shopping district, Governor’s Square. We are a traditional Courtyard by Marriott design with interior corridors and secured exterior entrance doors requiring key access from the parking area. Many of our guests enjoy our neighborhood because of the wide variety of dining and entertainment options within walking distance from our hotel. We invite you to come rest, relax and recharge with our team!
Looking forward to seeing you very soon,
