Detailed Reviews
If you enjoy staying in historic properties, this is your place. It’s a well-kept house in a lovely neighborhood lined with oak trees. We stayed in the Bird’s Eye Maple Room - a large, quiet, well-appointed room, with a very comfortable (and exceedingly high) bed. Communal breakfast was excellent and we enjoyed hearing about the history of the house. We were able to park in front of the property at a metered space, which was free over the weekend. Delightful time in a beautiful inn!

This is the third time my spouse and I have stayed here. The value for money, accomadation, and service remain top class. Breakfast is superior, freshly made and accomadations made for vegetarians and other specific needs without a problem. Exellent location just 5-10 mins drive from the campus accomodations. Plan in advance and stay here instead of a local hotel, you won't be disappointed!

My husband and I were in Tallahassee for our son's wedding and booked the entire inn for a long weekend. We cannot thank Anne and Kate enough for making our time there a fantastic experience. The Park Avenue Inn is a warm and friendly historic home. The location is convenient, the breakfasts delicious and the atmosphere relaxed...but our favorite moments were being able to enjoy family time between wedding events, late night fire pit conversations and our talks with Anne. We love this place.

We stayed at the inn overnight after attending a Florida State basketball game. It was the perfect location for walking to the game. There were nice sidewalks to take us anywhere we wanted to go. The overnight experience at the beautiful and immaculate Inn was very nice, comfortable bed, spacious room and bath (stayed in the Magnolia room). The breakfast was delicious fresh fruit and frittatas, with an overview of the Inn’s history presented by a lovely lady who was a long time resident in the house (the house had been in her family for years). I would highly recommend for your visit to Tallahassee.

My husband and I stayed in this beautiful Bed and Breakfast on a quick trip to Tallahassee. We loved all of the beautiful antique furniture in the home. We also enjoyed learning the history of the house over a delicious breakfast! The owner was so kind and welcoming and recommended some great places to eat and visit. We can’t wait to visit again!

What an absolute gem of a place. We booked the entire inn for my daughters wedding for family to be together. Rooms, breakfast, hospitality and charm were all amazing. Kate made us feel at home the entire time. Rooms were ideal for the family. Access to outside to entertain friends and family during the week with patio and fire pit was amazing. And proximity to everything wedding related and other hotels was ideal.

Absolutely fabulous in every way! My husband and I live in Tallahassee and planned a staycation at the Park Avenue Inn. We were delighted with this gem in our very own city/backyard. Breakfast each morning was delicious and conversation was engaging. Spacious, well appointed, inviting, warm and cozy! We can't wait to return.

+1
Since we have a daughter attending FSU, we wanted a unique place to stay while visiting- rather than a typical hotel. We chose wisely with the Park Avenue Inn! The owners were friendly & accommodating with our later arrival time. We were greeted at the door and given a tour, detailing its rich history in Tallahassee. Our room was very beautiful and the perfect place for a sound sleep after a long day. Given a key to the front door, we felt we were home. Breakfast was delightful- with great company and conversation, and the porch was rich with the morning chirps of birds. The best place to stay in Florida’s capital city!

It’s wonderful to hear you chose to stray from the ordinary to experience Tallahassee history by staying at The Inn! Please keep us in mind for return visits to see your daughter. We’ve made many changes to the back gardens.

I booked this room due to a rescheduling of an event. I have had my eye on it for some time. When the event was rescheduled, I quickly booked this room for the weekend. A couple days later it was cancelled by the inn keeper. I called inquiring why it was cancelled. The inn keeper stated she was going to give it to the person who originally booked it prior to the event being rescheduled. I informed her that it is a breach of the booking/contract and technically against the law since I already booked the room and paid it in full. She said "report me, see if I care and good luck finding a room since there aren't many left." She then yelled "your reservation is cancelled!" And hung up on me. There are very few hotel rooms left in the area and many are over $400 a night due to the event. Awful customer service and poor business. Would highly advise friends to stay away from this inn.

The event in question was rescheduled on the eve of Irma. During which time, I was tending to south Florida evacuees at The Inn. I would ask all who read this review to weed through the venting and focus on the sixth sentence. There you will find the truth. Thank you and as I always say, "I look forward to making your stay enjoyable!"

After reading all the excellent reviews, I decided to spend a night at the Park Avenue Inn. I ended up being SO disappointed. The bathroom was not in my room, and the innkeepers were not on-site. On the web page, it says Innkeeper available 24/7 and private bathroom IN each unit.
When I arrived, the front door was locked. After a few minutes, a woman appeared, she handed me an envelope with the keys, said she had to leave to go to work, pointed out the three designated parking spots on the street, told me my room was upstairs and left. I soon realized I was alone in the house. I had booked the May room, and I was shocked to discover the bathroom was across the hall. I did not bring a robe, and one was not provided. I called the phone number on the front door, and Kate answered, she offered to let me move to a different room, but first, I needed to look at the other rooms to see if they were clean. Unfortunately, all were dirty, so I was unable to switch.
The other guests arrived, wondering where to park, questions, etc., I let them in, pointed out the street parking, handed them the keys from the mailbox, and indicated where their room was. They were quite surprised to find out I was not the Innkeeper, but another guest.
All that transpired was uncomfortable and upsetting.
Also, there is a surcharge of 2-3% when using your credit card. A previous guest wrote, “Transparency in creating expectations make for happier guests.” Agreed!

Absolutely. The Noles play at the Civic Center on campus, which is less than one mile from the inn. You will love The Park Avenue Inn. It is lovely!
We have seven rooms. We can sleep 14 in beds and two on roll away beds.
