Compared with other Fairfield’s we found this one to be poorly maintained. It needs an extreme renovation. The shower door functioned poorly in keeping water inside the shower however the hot water was plentiful. The pillows smelled and felt like they came from a barn. The only thing missing was the burlap sack. Our advice: drive a little further and find a better joint. As usual for all Fairfield’s ambient lighting was an afterthought. Bathroom lighting abyssal.

Hotel is very basic and dated. The best part of the stay was free breakfast that included hot items like spinach and cheese quiche, omelet, and bacon. Monica at the breakfast bar was absolutely wonderful at keeping things stocked, clean, and was very welcoming and pleasant.

The hotel front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel was conveniently located for our trip through Florida. The lobby was bright but starting to show wear. Our room was ok. Bed was comfortable. But they are showing wear also-which makes it feel less clean. The toilet in our room didn’t flush well-you had to hold the handle to release enough water to flush. The breakfast was less than desirable. The young man working breakfast acted as if he hated his job. We asked for salt & pepper. He walked off and ignored us. The waffle batter was empty after just a couple were made. It wasn’t refilled while we were in the breakfast area. One man asked for maple syrup instead of agave. It took about 5 minutes for him to bring it out & set it on the counter without notifying the person requesting it. There were 2 milks in the refrigerator and about 6 yogurts. The bananas were almost black. No breads, no muffins, no bagels. Other than the less than Marriott standard breakfast our stay was good.

To say "dirty" is an understatement--my room was filthy! There was MOLD around the tub, filth on everything, even dead bugs. I carry Clorox wipes with me to be extra cautious, but I never expected to actually have to clean my hotel room! At first it seemed that the General Manager would handle the issue (he offered me 10,000 points back of the 20,000 I paid for the room) but could not arrange/would not arrange to have it cleaned? In fact, he wrote that he would take care of fixing all of the issues after I departed. Is wanting a clean room too much to ask? It seems that is is!

From the call I made to check availability to the moment we checked out at the end of our stay, we have nothing but positive things to say about our visit. Both interactions we had with the front desk, at night and then again in the morning, was delightful. Both attendants were so kind and helpful to my husband and I, and even my 11 year old daughter. At different times of our stay, we saw both attendants cleaning and making sure things were in order when they were not attending guests. The housekeeping service members we saw in the elevator and hallway each addressed us and engaged in genuine conversation with my family. The breakfast was excellent and provided a variety of selections for most dietary types. Our room was clean and well supplied with the basic essentials, and the beds and pillows were clean and very comfortable. There is a well kept indoor pool, but we did not swim on this visit. I highly recommend considering this hotel if you’re looking for a place to stay in Tallahassee. We will certainly visit again when passing through next time.

The hotel is under renovation. I had a recent accident and needed to change my room type and they accommodated me right away. Even though under renovation Yadira sent an email of description of what to expect and alternative for the fitness center. Breakfast was filling and plentiful thanks to the care of Monica who personally checked on everyone who stopped to eat. Monica even went as far as to heat persons quietly but swiftly passed through the tables making sure trash was cleared away from those still eating and greeting EVERYONE who passed with a smile. Monica reminded everyone who passed by to get some breakfast and until the time it would be served. Yadira and Monica set the tone of customer service. Friendly, helpful, professional that us the entire staff at this location !

Marriott, usually a reliable hotel chain, should be absolutely embarrassed with this property on North Monroe Street in Tallahassee. Poorly constructed with dirty bathrooms and a rude front desk person, my opinion of how horrible this hotel was shared by others who had the same feelings about their experience here. When we checked in on a Saturday late afternoon and arrived in our room, we instantly noticed how thin the walls were. We could clearly hear members of a mini-party in the adjourning room. My wife, who was ill, and I felt these partiers were in our room instead of a different one. We deciphered every word of theirs, despite their TV blaring away . I went downstairs to ask Ryan, the desk clerk, if we could change rooms because of the noise. He did a cursory check on his computer and said no. I told him the situation and he lashed out at me having alcohol on my breath. I never was so shamed in my life at his lack of understanding and his abhorrent behavior. I know the job market is tight, but this hotel is dredging the bottom of the barrel to hire people with the lack of personality and accommodation such as this Ryan. He threw his business card and me and dared me to write a report on his total insults and shaming with this customer. I returned to our room, which we reserved for two nights, to my crying wife as she heard we couldn't change rooms. The noise in the next room kept us up past 1 a.m. that night. We had no recourse but to put up with it. Then, the morning at 6 a.m, someone was pounding the doors to get people in the next rooms up. Absolutely a nightmare. Beside the noise we had to put up with a clogged tub when we took a shower. Water was up to our ankles, with a dirt ring around the tub disgustingly evident. The ice machine didn't work; in short, practically nothing went right during our stay. The only positive thing to this hotel was its breakfast. I will never, ever, stay in this dump or for that matter, any Fairfield hotel again. I am also sending a note of this description of events to Marriott corporate in the hopes it rectifies the blemish to their company.

ROACHES IN ROOM! I’m a titianium level Marriott member, stayed at the Fairfield-Tallahassee North on Tuesday, January 30th, knowing the hotel was under renovation. Next morning I killed a roach in the bathroom, then had another crawl out of my shaving kit! I told the front desk when checking out, and the young lady wouldn’t look me in the eye while writing something on her computer screen. She didn’t even apologize. I also get satisfaction surveys after every Marriott property stay, but noticed I haven’t received one from the Fairfield, which I thought was odd. I went to the hotels reviews and see I’m not the first to have roaches in the room! So I don’t think they send survey to people who complain about roaches. When I got home that night, my wife made me take everything out of my car and clear everything in the driveway to make sure every item was roach free.

Pool and workout facilities were unavailable and we were not informed of this before booking😢 Smell of mildew everywhere hall way include bedroom as if there was a bad water leak. The towels with color yellow very disappointments. The staff was great, very tentative to out needs. Unfortunately, you pay over $150.00 a night and don't have the service you expect for that price. The bathroom very disgusting 🫣.

We are scheduled to be completed at the End of Oct. They have been running behind so it could push into the first 10 days of Nov if they run into any delays.
