This was billed as a studio double queen room and really it’s just a standard size motel room with a small fridge and microwave. There is a very small living area with a sofa and small desk. Everything was clean although were a few signs of wear and tear.
Issue # 1 was the room layout. The bathroom is in two parts and is in front of both beds which means that if anybody is using either side of the bathroom, the light shines directly on the beds during the night. Plus if the toilet is flushed the noise for someone sleeping is significant. Light sleepers beware!
Issue#2 The air conditioner/heater is very loud and the walls are thin which made for a noisy night.
Issue#3. Our room never was cleaned/refreshed after our first nights stay, but since we were leaving the next morning we chose not to report it.
On the positive side, staff were helpful and friendly and the breakfast had some nice variety.
Considering the layout of the room, the noise, and the price, I would probably chose somewhere else should we return to Tallahassee.

The room was large but a little strangely set up. The commode and a sink were in an alcove and a separate room held a tub and sink. Bedding was comfortable. Walls were too thin but the room was basically quiet. There was no street noise. The large TV was not very useful because the remote supplied was not only difficult to use but also had a mind of its own. It would take me out of my program and when I tried to return it would start at the beginning instead of where I had left off. You Tube buffered constantly. Parking was free as was a meal advertised as breakfast. Several sugary cereals, a thick, inedible waffle, white bread toast, grapes, a few cellophane wrapped biscuits, and corned beef hash made up the main event. There was real butter. I couldn't find oatmeal, but there were a number of toppings. I really think that a complimentary breakfast with a good variety of menu items is a thing of the past. If the decision makers decide to lower the price of a reservation and skip breakfast it would be fine with me, but the likelihood of that is negligible.

My family was there visiting Florida State. It is in a decent location to the campus, about 5 miles. There are many restaurant options in the area. Breakfast is your typical SpringHill Suites, continental items and a few hot items. If you want a great breakfast, walk across the street to the Bada Bean. The room was spacious for the four of us. We really liked having the couch with a trundle bed and a desk sort of separate from the sleeping area to allow a few of us to work while others slept. Some reviews have mentioned the setup of the bathrooms, which I feel is a positive. The toilet is separate from the shower. Overall, I would stay here again. I have stayed at a number of hotels in the area while visiting my kid and surprisingly it has been a struggle to find cost-effective hotels that feel clean and safe. This hotel hits all the check marks. The only negative for me is that I don't see the Marriott status being recognized anywhere. WI am Titanium and there is no mention of any perks. I have seen this behavior, not only at this location, but many Marriott chains over the last couple of years. I am wondering if this is the cost-savings practice that Corporate has issued to the chains because I used to always get bottles of water or points or some kind of recognition without asking them.

Hotel cleanliness was poor in the common areas, trash cans full and the gym had the room temperature at 80F at 8:30 am ?? They are not doing housekeeping in the rooms during your stay due to COVID but I did not learn about this until I came back on the second night. Should this not be optional and at minimum communicated in BOLD when making reservations? Breakfast has been changed to grab and go with very limited and poor selection. Of course this was not relayed until check in either. The pool is closed which is understandable except that they have done no maintenance on it and water looks green and disgusting. Last stay at this hotel, really surprised that this is a Marriott property.

Marriott screwed us over. We showed up to the hotel I booked and they had canceled our reservation. She hands me a paper saying I’ve been rebooked at a Fairfield Inn on interstate 10, 30 minutes away. She said 3 schools had booked rooms and so they were overbooked and canceled us. We get to the other hotel which is a dump, not equivalent to what I chose for the room on the Bonvoy app. Just 2 queens. I had a studio with 2 queens and a trundle bed. The reason was I had 2 athletes that were competing at the same race as those other schools that bumped us from our room.
What is the purpose of letting me choose my room type at the hotel next to the location I needed it for if you just up and cancel me? I wasn’t even informed of the cancellation until I walked into the hotel. I had already online checked in, did an email confirmation and everything. This was not a last minute booking either. I was not given an option of a different hotel. They sent me to a hotel in a location that is sketchy at best. There is a homeless camp next to the parking lot.
Be weary of Marriott, given the chance they’ll cancel your reservation and send you to a dump. I wish I had used my Hilton honors instead of Marriott.

Stayed here back in April for my niece's graduation from FSU and got a great size room for my wife and I and her mom... Team at the front desk was very accommodating and was able to get us whatever we needed. I am not sure how old the hotel was, it felt pretty new, and the cleaning staff was always around and visible... Which might explain why it felt like one of the cleanest hotels I have stayed at in a while!!!

I've stayed at SpringHill Suites properties before, so didn't hesitate to book this one. I always check the mattress before unpacking and settling in, and this one failed. A wide strip of what I assume was urine (human or animal?) had stained the top of the king mattress from one side to the other. A tiny, very thin mattress cover with straps that weren't in place was trying to cover/protect it from further damage. I didn't check the bottom edge of the mattress, but if it hadn't been stained, you'd think the housekeeper would turn the mattress so people like me who check the mattress wouldn't have seen it.

When I checked in, a housekeeper was at the front desk, so when I returned with my luggage, I had hoped that she could come with me to that room to see the urine stained mattress, but she wasn't available or had left for the day. I was then given a different room and loyalty points by the front desk supervisor, which I appreciated. My question - WHY would a housekeeper continue to make up that bed for the next person to stay in that room? Did the supervisor tell her to ignore it, no one will care? Did the front desk levy a fine against the guest that had stained the mattress, but the owner didn't use that money to buy a new one? I don't know if the stain can be removed and the mattress reused, but my second room had a great, clean mattress.

Also, one of the two elevators was out of order, but I didn't dare ask how long it had been that way. I wonder if the owner/franchisee is too cheap to repair an elevator ASAP and remove mattresses from rooms if they are in the condition I found mine. Because of those two issues, I decided to cancel my reservation to stay here again on the drive home after my cruise.

Here for a robotics competition and someone else was nice enough to book rooms for the team. I got my own room at the same place so it would be easier to coordinate with the team. I usually only stay at Holiday Inn or Hampton Inn, but these rooms sleep more and that was a necessity to keep cost down for the team. This was definitely a wake up call: no matter if I’ve ever had an issue at either of my preferred hotels (I haven’t), it would still be a thousand times better than this.

Pros: there is a separate shower area with a sink from the room with a toilet and sink. This does make it easier if you are in the shower and the other person in the room needs to use the restroom. There is also a frosted glass partition on the desk between the beds and sitting area that makes it nice if two people of the opposite sex are changing. The front desk is nice and efficient.

Cons: the beds are HORRIBLE. And I don’t mean a little bit, the beds and pillows are so uncomfortable that I have a pain in my back and neck that just keeps getting worse every night. There are reviews from earlier in the year of people complaining about the beds and pillows and StaySuites gave a copy and pasted “we strive to exceed our expectations” and “we will address this” crap, but I can assure you it’s all words and no actions. These beds need to be burned.

The room isn’t clean. First night I go to plug up my cord for my phone and the amount of dust behind the bedside table is ridiculous. My son is allergic to dust, so of course he’s sneezing like crazy.

The bathroom doors do not shut all the way. Obvious problems there.

The breakfast isn’t just a little limited, it’s a lot. The first morning we actually just left and went to McDonalds. The food was over cooked, very little selection, the juices actually taste completely watered down and the oatmeal was 98% water and more like a drink with a little oats in it. No pastries, no waffles/pancakes, coffee is bad, no flavored creamer (I’ve been spoiled, I guess, at Holiday Inns and Hampton Inns.)

Shower pressure is bad, I seriously didn’t think I’d get my hair rinsed.

Overall, I have stayed at a Marriott before and wasn’t overly impressed, but it wasn’t bad. This is bad.

Save yourself and go elsewhere.

We are currently at this location and were given a room overlooking the outdoor pool, which I would normally not care about. However, there is a group of 3-4 people in the pool at 1:30 in the morning (it closes at sunset), the person handling the nightshift refuses to make the people leave the pool, and so everyone facing the pool is being kept awake with paper thin windows and yelling and screaming at the pool. Still going on at 2:45am. Might be the front desk person's friends, that's about all I can think of as a possibility. My entire family is awake now with an early AM departure. Ridiculous.

I usually choose Marriott SpringHill suites for their reasonable price and complementary breakfast. I called before booking to enquiert about breakfast availability and I’ve been told that du to Covid that is grab and Go. I’m fine with that except that here there was nothing to grab. The guy simply told me delivery was late... that’s is not my problem. I picked a place with complementary breakfast because I need breakfast, delivery is not my problem, I paid for a service I didn’t get.
See the choice at 8:30 AM on picture attached.
