Detailed Reviews
This hotel is brand new so it has lots of potential. A few of the drawbacks are that it is inconveniently located. It is hard to get to when you are driving. It is also located on a busy street so you hear lots of noise. These are somewhat out of the hotel's control however there are other things that they can control. There is no way that the hotel is full right now during this time so place your guests away from the nosiest areas don't just assign rooms. This would probably only take the staff a few more minutes of researching and would make the guests much more happier. Also, the bedroom area appeared clean but the bathroom looked neglected. The floor was not cleaned well and I found several ants. Last, the service was lackluster. The staff did not seem happy to be working and this energy can be transferred to the guests when they are assisting them. All in all I probably would not return to this hotel until things got better.

Was here for a weekend visiting a student in FSU. Had to separate reservations so we was told we had to check in and then check out. These were points and reward nights. So did what they said checked out then check back in and wanted to charge me another $50 for incidentals. I disagreed and at least they did honor that. Upon check out the front desk clerk gave me my receipts and there was $30 due on each nights reservation. I inquired saying these were reward nights and a free night from their promotion but she had no clue why. Maybe the staff needs better training to understand when situations like this come up.
But the worst part was the shower curtain liner was disgusting. The bottom was completely scum stained. At least change them or clean better.

We stayed at this Holiday Inn for my daughters graduation. It's conveniently located to just about everything. The hotel was clean, and the staff were there to help with anything you needed. The room air conditioner accepted our ice cold desires, and the beds were AMAZING. Our room had 2 queen beds, a pull out couch, refrigerator, microwave, and keurig coffeemaker with 2 pods of coffee. The bathroom had a small body wash and shampoo & conditioner. The breakfast was the norm; eggs, sausage, muffins, toast/bagels, fruit and plenty of fresh coffee. The swimming pool wasn't open due to Covid, which we really looked forward to 😕 it was a small backyard size pool, facing the parking lot.
Directly across the side-street is a liquor store, Burger King and Jimmy Johns subs. We would certainly stay here again, especially for those glorious beds. Wow! They were the best.

Hotel's Favourite
I was surprise once I got there that the hotel was just across the street from the University. I was there for a clinic over a weekend.
My room was 2 Queen bed and was bigger than most rooms I've been in
Pillows are very very soft and we were able to hear the people who were in the room next to us. We were in the last room on the hall. We never stayed in the room very long as we were out walking around Florida State University or the local area or at the conference .
The breakfast bar is included in the stay. Was better than a continental breakfast bar offered my a number of hotels. I had just went to another conference a few day before staying here and and had to pay $12.95 for a hot breakfast but that breakfast was worth it. This Holiday Inn bar had scrambled eggs, chicken and pork saugage, biscuit and gravy, 3 types of small muffins, 3 cereals, orange juice, different bread for toast, coffee
I paid $107.35 for room but additional $8.05 state tax of 7.5% then 5% state tax of $5.37 for a total of $120.77. I stayed 2 nights.
I was very please with my selection of hotel. There was 2 other hotels right in the area but I think the Holiday Inn Express was best selection.
Oh they do have an outdoor pool and parking is free

Lovely hotel! I stayed here with my friends for the weekend and the staff was very nice and accommodating. The hotel is new so the rooms were clean and beautiful and the bed comfortable. I felt very comfortable in regards to the cleanliness during these COVID times. I especially enjoyed the location as it was minutes from FSU’s campus and within walking distance to many restaurants and fast food places. I will definitely be staying here next time I visit!

My family and I stayed here over graduation weekend. (May 5-7, 2023). We had a reservation for one night. We decided to stay an additional night because while checking through the app, the Saturday night rate was half the current rate. (We were not looking for a reduced rate for the first night, only wanting to extend our stay at the lower rate for the second night) We confirmed with the front desk and he extended our stay with the lower rate for Saturday night. Upon checking out and leaving, I reviewed the charges on my IHG app and it reflected the correct amount. 3 weeks later upon viewing my credit card statement, the franchisee , Ravi Vemuri of Avanti Hospitality Investment Inc., charged me $544 per night for both nights. A total of $1088. The correct total charge should have been $852 which is what my app said I would be charged when I checked out. I disputed with my credit card company and they reversed it with the documentation I had showing the rate I should have been charged. The franchisee had 60 days to dispute my claim and provide documentation to counter. He waited until the last day and sent in documentation (which in the fine print showed my rate change and average daily night was what I stated), but he lied and said “I booked through corporate website and was charged accordingly. It was graduation weekend. He lied to my credit card company about the rate. Before I filed a dispute, I did call and I sent an email with my receipt and I never received a response. I am now disputing the chargeback again with my credit card company and pointed out in his own documentation where the rate change was changed within their computer. I have been going back and forth for six months with this dispute. I frequent Tallahassee often as my daughter lives here and I stopped in today (11-12-2023) to ask why I was overcharged and Ravi was aloof and said he would have to look into it. “I delegate to other people”. The Vice President of Avanti Hospitality Investment, Inc. is Pat Viswanathan located in Newark, NJ, so I am not sure if that is who he delegates to or not. Upon searching public records, Ravi Vemuri, has been sued multiple times when he had an interest in Ramada Inn and there is currently a lien on this Holiday Inn Express property for failure to pay engineering consulting charges. I will be contacting the Florida Department of Business and Profession Regulation as well as the Florida Division of Consumer Services and making a formal complaint against Avanti Hospitality Investment, Inc. IHG really needs to look into this franchisee as he is giving their brand a very bad name and

I recently had the opportunity to stay at this hotel during the Christmas holidays. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of this hotel. The staff was very warm, friendly and inviting. I was booked into a king room which was both spacious and very comfortable. They offer a complementary hot breakfast each morning which was very tasty. The parking lot is very well lit and no charge. I definitely plan to return to this hotel in the future when I visit Tallahassee.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Tallahassee, 1653 Raymond Diehl Road, and it was horrible! We chose it partly because of its claims that the staff maintains a super-clean atmosphere due to covid, but it was filthy.
First, the carpet in the room looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years or even recently vacuumed. The in-room refrigerator and microwave were dirty inside and out. Next, the bathroom was also disgusting with pubic hair on the tub and floor. The white ceiling in the shower had black mold in several spots. Next, we needed some extra bath towels because there were three of us and only two of them in the bathroom, but the hotel was out of extra towels. Finally, we wanted to do some laundry, but the change machines were empty.
We have been IHG members for a long time, but not any more. We're not patronizing this company any more.

Not what I expect
We stayed here as a family prior to an FSU visit in March 2022.
My wife is a Spire Elite member. We have stayed in numerous IHG properties across the country. This place was distinctly different in a bad way. The clerk was rude and the lobby was a mess. When we inquired about a 1 pm late check-out, he replied, “That’s too late for me.”
The breakfast was mostly unattended, the serving utensils were broken, and many things needed restocking. The silverware was not single serve, individually wrapped pieces as I would expect during a COVId pandemic.
The room was clean, although it had an accent wall painted with the ugliest royal blue I’ve seen. I would not stay here again.

Good location near the university and also plenty of fast-food restaurants in walking distance. Room was large with fridge, microwave and iron/board. About 56 TV channels, and safe in room. But, no hair dryer. Shower was powerful and hot water. Sleep was good and not much noise from street. Exercise room was a bit disappointing – 3 machines and some free weights and scale. Breakfast was fine with hot foods like eggs, turkey and pork sausages, cinnamon rolls, breads, yogurts, etc. Only issue was front desk service. The man when I checked in was barely polite – it was like I was ruining his day. It took 5 minutes for the front attendant to come when I needed a receipt to check out. Other than that – I would stay again and worth the price - $145 for Monday evening stay.
