We stayed at the Ritz Carlton for 4 days - rooms are very spacious and tea, coffee and water provided together with luxury toiletries. The beds are also very comfortable.

We took the daily shuttle to the beach club as there was building work ongoing next to the swimming pool at the hotel. The shuttle also stops at Armands Circle where there are many shops and restaurants ( the shuttle leaves the hotel on the hour and returns from the beach club at half past the hour).

We had a breakfast inclusive rate which was served from an a la carte menu in Jack Dustys restaurant. The marina is close by and its definitely worth popping in to the Westin rooftop bar if you are venturing out. There are lots of restaurants in Sarasota (Element has a shuttle service that does free pick up and drop off - excellent steaks).

This is definitely the best place to stay if you are in Sarasota - as well as excellent service you get the benefit of being within walking distance of downtown Sarasota and the Marina, combined with the shuttle to beach.

We had a fabulous one night stay which was just perfect for our honeymoon. Getting married during COVID-19 meant that we could not have the wedding we dreamed of, however, the team at the Ritz Sarasota made our honeymoon night really special.

On arrival, we were upgraded to the club floor on the 8th floor which had amazing views. The room itself was clean, light and airy with a modern marble tiled bathroom and a balcony looking out over the water. Room amenities were good. I needed an item which house keeping didn’t have, it would have been a nightmare, but the lovely lady at reception located it for me and delivered it to the room which I very much appreciated. We had a lovely surprise to celebrate our honeymoon in the room which was a bottle of sparking wine and some chocolate covered strawberries which were yummy. Although we didn’t have the wine (Muslim, so we don’t drink), it was such a lovely gesture.

We arrived late and had to leave early, so didn’t have time to explore or use the beach club, but we did take a quick drive down there to take some photos and it looked amazing. There is a free shuttle provided that takes you there. Otherwise, it’s valet parking which is free for those who payed to valet park at the hotel. Valet parking is quite expensive and there is a resort fee to pay but that’s expected.

Food wise, we ate at the hotel restaurant, the dusky jack which was a nice experience looking over the water. The menu was OK, overpriced but that was expected. We also had breakfast there, which was wonderful. It was table service owing to COVID-19. In terms of cleanliness, there is hand sanitising stations located around the hotel and everyone wore masks which felt safe and didn’t ruin the experience. Staff were all very welcoming, professional and friendly.

Our only regret was that we should have stayed longer! The experience provided by the Ritz definitely lives up to it’s name and expectations. This hotel certainly knows how to provide personalised excellent customer service and does it very well. It’s well worth spending the extra money for the experience. Thank you

We spent 4 nights in this hotel and the location, the service, and the beach club made it all worth it. Note that the beach is a few miles away from the hotel and there is a hotel shuttle that comes and goes every 30 minutes. The beach club is totally worth this hotel. The beach is crystal clear, the service is wonderful and you can go to the restaurantes in the beach club if you are bored of the sand. For celiac people, this is a great hotel that provided incredible service to my husband. They have a gluten free menu and the chefs and waiters are very knowledgeable which made things much easier.
The room was spacious however, the bed was too soft/worn out for us. We just couldn't sleep well. The hotel is conveniently located close to the downtown area (about a 10 minute walk).
All in all, I would definitely go back!

Typical Ritz Carlton with excellent rooms. As Marriott Platinum members upgraded to a "marina view" room, which was nothing exceptional as the marina is somewhat obstructed by other buildings. The bathrooms could use to be updated from a standard tub/shower to a more modern walk in shower.
Beach club, which is about 3 miles away can be accessed by hotel shuttle running hourly or by car if you have one. Not real walking friendly so I would suggest having a car.
Beach club is beautiful with pool, hot tub and beach. Attendants were exceptional at the beach setting up chairs, umbrellas and providing a bucket of iced water bottles. There is an adjacent tiki bar (open to the public) for drinks while you watch the incredible sunset. There is a locker room available if you have a late flight out and want to spend the last day at the beach. Did not spend anytime at hotel pool as it is in shade for most of day given the location
The restaurant, Jack Dusty's was the one disappointment. Food was average and overpriced. Went to the bar on 2 evenings and each time was a problem. First was drink and dessert. When we got wrong dessert bartender insisted was correct, then told us that what we ordered was not available.
Second night when asked about a particular wine on the menu the bartender (a different one) told us about the wine then poured 2 glasses. He then provided us a bill for a different wine at almost double the cost. When we questioned the bill he explained that the less expensive wine was no longer available.
Fitness center was average size with good equipment, and the locker rooms/spa were excellent.

We stayed for our 40th Anniversary and the marina view balcony room was splendid for enjoying a Nespresso and evening sunset! The night view of the Sarasota Bay and marina was grand! The inroom Nespresso machine provided with Ristretto capsules was well appreciated. Had to buy one when we got home we loved it so much. Thehotel has a beach club which was very well maintained and provided the best evening sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico.

My wife and I travelled to this property for 6 nights in October 2020 with our 7 month old. The Sarasota Ritz is among the best properties I have stayed in. The attention to detail, especially traveling during COVID, was top notch.

The room was up to Ritz standards, and was spacious, even having a baby with us. Unlike many other properties, they still gave you the option of housekeeping - I have spent time in several hotels in COVID where they didn’t give you this option for “safety” (aka a ploy for them to save money).

The food was fantastic. We ate at Jack Dusty for dinner once, breakfast once, had room service twice, and ate at the pool every day. The service was top notch for the most part and the food was delicious. My only slight issue was that our waiter at Jack Dusty gave us pretty poor service compared to the people around us. He likely didn’t think he would get a good tip based on the age of my wife and I (I am 31), which I have become used to at top tier hotels. Once we ordered more drinks he seemed more attentive, but he paid much more time to the people sitting around us initially and we had empty drinks for an extended period and had to ask for bread.

The beach club was top notch. They truly make the experience wonderful from start to finish. This includes valet parking, giving you a bucket of water bottles in ice at your chair, baskets of swim diapers poolside, bottles of sun tan lotion available, and even replacing the towels on our seats with fresh towels when we got up to get in the water. They also have a shuttle available but I would recommend driving if you have a rental - the shuttle only comes hourly.

The location of the hotel is great. It’s only about a 10 minute walk from the Main Street, where there are tons of great restaurants.

I recommend bringing lots of small dollar bills. They are constantly helping you (valet, towel guys, housekeeping, etc) and I had to get change several times for tips!

We will be back!

The hotel is beautiful and the valet parking attendants are incredibly helpful. The servers we had at breakfast were also excellent. They really went above and beyond to make our dining experience great. The kitchen was backed up but one of our servers brought us a complimentary fruit plate and bacon while we waited. He was also very kind to our kids. The room service was also excellent and quick!

The pool is very nice with a beautiful view of the marina but we were there for 3 hours with no service. We had to walk upstairs inside the restaurant to get drinks, while others were being served which I found odd. I wish we could have gone to the beach club but we ran out of time. They did have shuttles that take you there which is nice.

We paid for a marina view room with two queen beds as we had our two children with us. Once we arrived in our room it was a king bed with a view of the parking lot. We called and they quickly fixed the room mix up but we had to go downstairs and get our new keys and a luggage cart and move all of our stuff. We were frustrated and tired after a long day on the boat so this wasn’t ideal at 9:30 at night. Yes, this isn’t that big of a deal but when you pay over $900 for a room for one night you tend to expect someone to help...

We didn’t get great sleep because the crowd at this hotel tends to stay up late and party. Normally that would be fun, but we had our kids. This is no fault of the hotel but just be aware of the noise on a Saturday evening.

My husband also went to get a luggage cart because we were trying to check out quickly but they wouldn’t let him get a cart because they said they were only for the bellmen. We found it odd that we had to move all of our luggage by ourselves the night before but weren’t allowed to now.

We’ve come to really enjoy the service and standards at the ritz Carlton hotels around the world but this one just missed the mark. I realize things are hard for hotels with the coronavirus. However, for the price of the room for one night I was disappointed.

This Ritz on the bay in Sarasota is not like any Ritz I’ve ever stayed in.
We’ve stayed in many Ritz in many locations. The Sarasota Ritz is nice hotel with beautiful rooms nice restaurant and two pools one at a beach location a ways off and one at the hotel. It’s all nice except the hotel is poorly managed.

Everything from the front desk staff to TheHousekeeping is not up to Ritz standards
No one seemed to know anything when we asked questions if you could find anyone!
Every morning at around 830 am the housekeeping staff would knock on our door. When we told them to come back in an hour some days they didn’t come back till late afternoon
I would recommend saving your money and staying in a less expensive place

Covid has made us take vacations closer to home so we are visiting old favorites (Cheeca) and new properties (The Breakers). The Ritz in Sarasota would be a first for us and it was booked specifically due to their Beach Club on the famous Sarasota beach.
Although we made the reservation over the phone and we received various welcoming emails we were not told that the beach was closed due to construction. It is true that in one of the emails, at the very bottom, the last line says that the beach is closed. For a hotel that touts their beach club and beach location, it would have been nice to be told that on a separate email or make it more visible but that would have resulted in cancellations no doubt. It was very dishonest on their part to keep this information concealed. As it was, instead of lounging on the beach you were packed around a small pool (covid be damned) or, alternatively, you could go up to the third floor and lay on a chair. From that vantage point you could see four John Deere front loaders go back and forth.
When I brought this up to management what I got was sympathy (I totally agree with you sir) followed by nothing else. Yes, they comped the "resort fee" the resort fee that covers things like snorkeling equipment, body boards and fishing rods, all things that are actually not available due to covid. So they gave me a credit for something that they shouldn't be charging.
We experienced all the other gripes that others have mentioned, no one picks up the phone when you call for your car or the front desk. The rooms are mediocre (open the doors under the bathroom sink for a treat!). Woefully understaffed.
We were told that the beach trolley started at 10 am. At 1:10 pm we go down to get the trolley, we ask where the pick up is, a valet attendant points it out for us, we wait 15 minutes, no trolley, we go back and ask and are told that the trolley only comes every hour on the hour. Now, they have two trolley buses and the beach club is 8 minutes away. So the two trolleys pick up guests, drive off at precisely the hour and then sit there for an hour to take guests back, who manages this?? Why can't you have trolleys go back and forth? As ridiculous as staying here, never again.

I have stayed at the Sarasota Ritz Carlton many years ago. I realize we have been in the midst of a pandemic. Yet, in order to obtain room service, we had to place an order and wait for the food for 40 minutes. Then, the food was placed in plastic dishes and served with plastic utensils. The food was averagely prepared with small quantities. I brought this up to the front desk, when departing, and was brushed off.

I also found the pillows from other rooms stacked in the hallway. I thought if the pandemic was so serious, then this would have been handled better.
