I booked a massage at the spa and with Tracy B. I’m currently wearing a neck brace for a spinal cord injury, but I thought it would be OK as long as we avoided that area. She took the time to carefully explain why it wasn’t a good idea without a doctor’s recommendation. She had a family member that had a similar injury and she said she thought she was the one I was booked with “for a reason”. I don’t disagree with that possibility. Then she went above and beyond by following up with a thoughtful card and consolation gift. I appreciated her kindness and respect.

This was our 4th or 5th visit to this Ritz location and it did not disappoint. We were upgraded from our Club room to a Club Suite which was a huge improvement! Yes, the rooms are a bit dated and the resort needs a cosmetic upgrade but the service is absolutely impeccable and all the employees are polite, pleasant and provide 5 star service. The club lounge was wonderful and the staff extremely hard working and willing to go above and beyond. Housekeeping, front desk, beach club and Jack Dusty staff all wonderful and professional. We look forward to visiting RC Sarasota soon!

This may be the most run down Ritz I have ever experienced. Absolutely nothing special. I initially expected my review would end there but it doesn’t. I Went to sleep at 10pm and was woke up at 3am by a banging sound in the bathroom. The pipes in the sink were making the loudest sound. It would happen intermittently through the rest of the night. I recorded and played it for the front desk when I went to breakfast. They gave me credit for the resort fee. Upon return to my room after breakfast the smell of sewage permeated the entire room. Unbearable to even be in the room. I tossed everything back in my suitcase and checked out. Fortunately I was refunded for my stay. The worst part - 2 employees told me this is a known issue. $1300 a night you shouldn’t have a room that smells like a septic tank.

This is a beautiful location. Right on the beach. Always tidy, neat and clean. The staff is polite, courteous and respectful. Keep in mind, on the island there are no grocery stores or sundry places for last minute items or to pickup something you forgot….not to worry, you’ll find everything you need here.

Unfortunately the Ritz did not live up to its reputation or cost on this visit. Our room was dated, snacks were stale, the frig was warm and contents looked old. The carpet was worn out and had snags in multiple areas. The sink made gurgling sounds and the shower/bathtub looked like it was 10 years old Jack Rusty was fantastic and the beach club was solid as usual…..but the room experience did not justify the cost.

We are platinum elite members for life. I find this Ritz to be not one of the best. Parts of the hotel are lovely. Parts, like around the game area under roof, not so much. The room is fine but I prefer Marriotts bed linens much more. The bath area is pretty but I'm shocked to find a tub shower vs a walk in shower. Excellent dinner and pool service.

Horrible experience. Directly across from our room was a barking, whining, howling dog! The dog barked for hours on the first afternoon. The following morning, the owner left before sunrise and the dog barked from before 6 am - 7:30 am. The staff stood outside of our door that morning talking loudly on radio and amongst themselves on a cell phone. That evening, the dog was again left alone and barked. Management was totally ineffective. We received conflicting stories. We were made promises that were not kept. And to top it off, we were the ones who had to move, and management would offer no further compensation for our inconvenience, and even for having been woken up on vacation. Terrible response! Terrible hotel. Wait time in the morning for breakfast was too long. Bell staff were slow. Overall, the room is not worth the price. Terrible service and experience. Do not stay here.

The hotel room itself was ok. Not a good value but ok. Booked the least expensive room on Amex and came to just over $1,000. On check out the benefits were not applied correctly, was told they would correct and e mail, they did indeed e mail and say to call if there was any issues. Well I do not have time to call over $100.. maybe they are counting on this.Walking into the room a big chip was out of the purple paint work on the wall and a stripe at the base of the door hanging off. Maybe they were attempting to block the noise with this pz! Can hear people talking in the hallways, coughing, neighbors toilet flushing and water running, furniture scrapping. Would not stay again based on this, woken up at 6 am by elevator bells. At breakfast slow service, bird poop on one of the chairs at our table. Bird poop on chairs at the pool, pool area looks very old and jaded. Check out bags and valet very smooth. Hotel was built in 2001 so is now old but not smelly. But come on RC you can do better than this with your flag!

My husband and I are members at The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota. Jane at Kemp’s Snack Bar is THE BEST! She always greet us with a big smile and genuinely cares about meeting our needs. Jane certainly sweetens our experience time and time again. 10/10!!!
