I have stayed at several Holiday Inns throughout the country, and for the most part, most of them are very good. The one on South Federal Highway in Port Saint Lucie, however, is not one of the good ones. They advertise a beautiful pool, but for four months (winter) a year, you can't swim in it because the water is very cold. The clerk at the desk said they were thinking about getting it heated, but I would ask before booking if they have accomplished that task.
The second problem is the food in the snack bar (it is really not a restaurant), Everything is greasy. The eggs, sausage and potatoes all tasted the same with the slippery grease that was on them from being deep fried instead of healthily cooked. The eggs were ok, but the rest of the plate was covered in deep fat grease. Eat ANYWHERE else (the breakfasts aren't even free!) . Even if they had been free, I wouldn't have eaten there again. Finally, if you are looking for a place for more than a day or two, this is not the place for you. They will offer you a lower rate for a week, and then charge extra for the weekends. That is no bargain. One clerk quoted me 1622 for three weeks, and after I cancelled my other hotel reservation that cost about a hundred less (for the convenience, it was worth paying an extra hundred), I went back to pay the 1622 and the clerk said. Oh, I called my boss and he said it is more for the weekends and the best we can do is 99 a night. That came to 2100 instead of 1622. You can do better with a B and B or few other places on HWY 1. This place is just an average motel good just for one night.

Hello taoboy999, It is great to hear from you and thank you for being a loyal guest of the Holiday Inn. We are determined to ensure that our hotels are always clean, our service is friendly, and everything works. It seems that on your stay this was not the case. We apologize that our pool is not heated and what had been offered at the snack bar was not to your liking. We have raised your concerns with Hotel management and our restaurant team, and they will definitely look into this. We are endlessly working to meet the standards that is set forth for all Holiday Inns. We would love for you to experience the progress we have made as we continue to elevate your travel experience and deliver a smile to your face. Looking forward to your visit in the future. Crystal at the front desk was great and helpful. Our room was a queen mini suite and it was nice but very old. The restaurant is not open on Sundays or Mondays and we took that as a sign we shouldn't eat there anyway. Crystal gets 5 stars!

We stayed at the holiday inn, just one night, passing through south Florida. The hotel’s website didn’t say anything about the pool not being open and they didn’t tell us about the pool until after we checked in. But, that is my only complaint. The beds were comfy and our room was very nice and had plenty of space for a few hours for a family of four. The breakfast downstairs was complimentary and delicious. We were disappointed we could not eat in the restaurant (due to COVID), but they gave us great take out containers and the food was delicious. I would stay here again, while passing through. But, I would check on the status of the pool before booking again.

First I will start by saying the only reason I’m even giving it a 1 star is by the grace of God, I was checked in by Daniel E who by far was the only thing positive about our stay. His customer service was beyond a 5 star. As for the property, you are shown a beautiful waterfall pool and their Christmas themed lobby which is amazing..... then you get to your room or in my case 2 rooms.... and the rooms smell of urine, pillows are stained with blood, feces stains on the sofa pullout bed which by the way, every spring is sticking out. The bathrooms are rusted and disgusting. We also without a doubt witnessed a couple of “women of the night” with their “johns” Beds were uncomfortable. And as we were leaving we were also denied even a cup of coffee because we hadn’t purchased a breakfast ticket... wtf a cup of coffee.

Hi musicmoma4, I'm glad you chose our hotel for your visit to Port St. Lucie. Thank you for staying. We promise a comfortable and convenient experience for all of our guests. I'm sorry you experienced issues with the stay, especially with the cleanliness of the pillow, sofa bed, and bathroom. I also read your concern for the room smell, beds, and coffee. I can see these dampened your visit. Trust that I alerted our management about this so we can make the necessary changes to better our service. I also sent a private message to discuss further. We appreciate your feedback about your stay and looking forward to your next travel. Many Thanks, Rein V Case Manager IHGService

Stayed with my wife and was IHG member. Poor conditions exist. Never recognized as IHG member over two night stay. One elevator out of order; pool open but jacuzzi, though running, was off limits per front desk. Pool had 5 chairs, 2 tables and multiple debris IN the pool. Towels, shampoo, conditioner, etc. all poor, cheap quality. Employees not trained to be service centric. Poor attitudes. I’m a retired credit Union executive of 40 years; I know what good treatment should look like. It doesn’t exist at this hotel. Because of this, I’m cutting up my IHG credit card and dissolving my IHG membership since (after request), never received a call back to discuss the current environment at this location. Why would anyone stay at this hotel?

The Hotel was being renovated during my stay so I'm sure it will be even better very soon. Very friendly and helpful staff at the front desk, housekeeping, and in the restaurant. Large, quiet rooms; ours had a nice view of the beautiful pool with a waterfall feature. Very easy to get on and off of the main highway so a great location for anywhere around Pt. St. Lucie. The best part of our stay was Gatwicks restaurant right inside the Holiday Inn. Breakfast was included in our Hotel price and it was a very good, large hot breakfast - anything on their breakfast menu, instead of the usual buffett grab and go hotel breakfast. I hope they don't remodel Gatwicks because it has nice old fashioned wood and glass decorated cozy booths that made our breakfast even more enjoyable. The waitress was great and very friendly and great conversation, helpful and knowledgable about the menu, hotel, and the local area. Enjoyed our stay and we will be back again whenever in that area of Florida.

We were first checked into an uncleaned room. The next room we were assigned was okay. Keys didnt work. Hard to get settled into this place- There was literally NO internet in the room- it looked clean, but something in this place was outdated. They said they were updating. Had to go to lobby for access to internet for any device. They get a 5 for their friendly staff. Young man there was awesome. make sure to know that you will only get 1 TP roll at a time and there is no hairdryer, hangers nor a microwave in the room (due to covid). The bathroom faucets dripped all day and the AC was loud at night in our room.

The only reason I gave this a 2 instead of a one is because the beds are super comfy and the staff is very, very nice.
BUT the hotel overall DEFINITELY needs the renovation they are currently doing. I’m sure once it’s finished this will be worth the $250+ a night they are charging. During the reno this is easily a 2 star property that should be lowering their rates to the nearby motel 6/red roof rates. The carpet in our room was so dirty I had to wear shoes to walk from the bed to the bathroom. The shower was filthy and didn’t even work. Ended up having to take a bath instead of a shower bc the shower tab wouldn’t pull up. The popcorn ceilings held in any and all odor so it smelled musty in the room. The pool was closed but I’m sure will be beautiful once it’s finished. However, it was right outside our 2nd floor room and the workers started working on it at 7a-no sleeping in at all for us. Again, the hotel did tell us they were renovating but to still charge almost $300 a night is borderline price gauging. We ended up cutting our 5 nights to 2 and booked it down to the Keys.
Shoutout to Zack at the front desk-super nice kid and hard worker!

The hotel staff was very kind and friendly. They passed out Easter eggs to the children on Easter morning. However, the hotel is about 10 years past updating. The carpet in our room was heavily stained and wet, rusting door knobs and appliances, the AC was very noisy, mold in the shower and we ended up waking up in the middle of the night to a waterfall pouring through the shower light in the bathroom. I found an open electrical box partially closed by tin foil(interesting choice). We have little children so safety is a big concern of ours. Needless to say, we're very disappointed in this holiday inn location.

I hate to leave a bad review because every staff member we came into contact with was great. But oh my gosh, this property is OLD and worn. Surprisingly, the room was clean (as clean as it could be for its age) so props to housekeeping. Our queen SUITE was tiny. 2 adults and one kid was a crazy tight squeeze. The bathroom was soooooo small. The faucet handles were almost rusted in place. The pullout couch was the most uncomfortable bed, according to my kid who sleeps often on pullouts (we travel a ton). The soap, shampoo, conditioner were the cheapest stuff and only the tiny little bottles. They are supposedly doing renovations and our floor had a huge workspace blocked off but never saw any work actually being done the 3 days we were there. I can’t recommend this place with so many other newer updated options in the area.
