We stayed in 1006W - VRBO property 1799532. We booked this condo about 10 days before arrival bc our reservation at another resort was cancelled last minute. This condo fulfilled the 2 things my family needed - ocean front and a pool. Checking in was kind of frustrating as they only want you to use the app and our door access code was never uploaded. The Calypso is very tall so the sun doesn’t shine on the pool til almost lunch time and most of the beach until around 10am. The condo is janky, cabinets coatings were taped back on, bathroom cabinets had mold under them, dirt in the corners of the bathrooms. Our master shower had sitting water in the tub and my husband pulled the drain out to find about 10lbs of hair attached. The fridge will not hold coldness until lots of other cold items are in it, even turned up all the way, so we had to put our beer in the freezer. I wasn't thrilled about the 10th floor due to a high rise but the elevator waits were short and this unit is the first one around the corner from the elevator. The attached parking garage is located behind the condo, one the 3rd floor, which made it a bit of maze. The location is close enough to walk to pier park but annoying trying to go the opposite direction at any time of day in a car, due to traffic. We used the beach access to the right instead of walking through the “private” beach area due to rows of beach chairs taking up the beach that were maybe 40% full most days. The tiki bar was nice, but expensive, and the pools were long and sit level with the beach. Beach chairs were hard to come by. Would definitely not stay here in the future.

We stayed in Calypso 2308 which is through Warren beach rentals. The rental was effortless and no issues at all. It was beautiful, it was decorated with a beach theme it had stainless steel appliances. Clean and roomy. We were on the main top floor so we could see out in the Gulf for miles. We could go sit on our balcony and listen and watch the waves. Highly recommend Warren beach rentals

We originally booked a 1st floor unit with a pleasing decorated feel. It's what we prefer. We were moved twice to different units without consent from the timeof booking til our stay. Ended up in unit 1506. This unit is poorly decorated and the furniture is old and in bad shape. The 3rd bedroom is a joke. It lacked sufficent A/C to the room. It is not a bedroom, it is a closet. I had an adult couple stay in that room and it is not suitable for adults. TV in the 2nd bedroom did not work. Kitchen was adequately stocked with all necessities. The Gulf was breathtaking. We went for the July 4 holiday, so it was crowded everywhere and as usual lacked a sufficent number of elevators for the number of units in this building. We took our kids and grandkids. Inspite of some disappointments we did have a great time. However, with the problem with the 3rd bedroom ie.... lack of A/C and being the size of my home closet we will look elsewhere next year. We booked a 3 bedroom unit, but it only comes with 1 set of beach chairs and an umbrella. We're used to getting 1 set for every bedroom in our unit. Odd to say the least. You can rent chairs and umbrellas for each day at a charge of $60.00 a day. Ouch. Mattresses in the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms are noisy and not as comfortable as we'd like. We did enjoy the nearby shopping and restaurants, they were within walking distance. Nice! I can't say enough about the beach. My grandkids loved it and the water was pristine and very clear. As clear as it was when we went to Grand Cayman.

I wish I could recommend this property, but I can’t!! I do have to say this review does not reflect the unit we stayed in. Unit 1705W was clean and well maintained and the owner was very nice. The property however is less than desirable. For starters, I had 5 packages delivered to the property for our anniversary and mysteriously no one on property has any idea what happened to them. The owner of the condo was very kind to go check his personal mailboxes to see if by chance they were placed in the mailroom. The HOA person however acted as though we terribly inconvenienced her by asking her if she could help us locate them. The mail is delivered to the HOA office to our understanding. Put that aside and I have to talk about beach access issues. The beach setup at the resort is so packed, you can’t possibly see the ocean or be more than 2 feet from the person next to you. Don’t let the pictures deceive you and even if you are on the front row of chairs, there isn’t anything from stopping other beach goers from dropping a 10x10 tent right in front of you. We opted to walk to the blank lot of sand next to the condo and pay for a beach set up at 40/ day and even then we had people dropping tents, canopies, and chair/ umbrella setups in front of us Checkout was a nightmare. The property has 3 elevators to serve the tower and 23 floors of guests. It took us 1 hour and 47 minutes to get on an elevator to leave. The views are beautiful and the unit and the unit owner was great, it is however right next to the 3 elevators so you hear people ALL day, they should disclose that in the unit listings. As we traveled during Covid19, we were masks and worked diligently to protect ourselves but you should know we saw less than 10 people all week wearing them. The resort was doing nothing to encourage social distancing or masks or even to accommodate it for that matter.

(Condo 201 in the East Tower )This upscale condo has been remodeled down to the studs. The location is optimal being on the 2nd floor All of the bedrooms are beautifully decorated and are en-suite, the showers are pristine, the kitchen has brand new appliances, the balcony was surprisingly very large with multiple seating choices and the view is the million dollar view that so many people dream for. Our beach chairs (2) were included in our cost for the condo. There are so many restaurants and stores that are a short walk and there is something for everyone. Everyone is so friendly and helpful at the condo building. The tiki hut was my favorite place. The female bartender was hilarious and made outstanding drinks. She's very popular! This is the nicest rental condo I've ever stayed at. The bunk room is great for adults or kids because the mattress size is larger than a single and there are 2 bunk beds. The 2nd bedroom has a queen bed and is a good distance from the kids in the bunk room. The master bedroom is ocean front and also gorgeous. We are talking about when we can return to re-experience a condo that is more like a home and includes beautiful sunsets, crystal clear blue water and soft white sand. Truly Heaven.

We loved our stay at Calypso. The staff we encountered were excellent. They have a station on the beach where you check-in to get your chairs. This is a private beach. They work for Calypso, not Panama City. There were about four guys working and they were great. They would come by and sweep sand off your lounge chair and feet if you wanted them to. They would come around and ask if you needed anything. They also helped people get their gear up and down the steps. There is no lifeguard on duty in front of the resort. It is a little crowded but we got down there early and didn't mind. We did not use the pools but they did usually look crowded. There was an employee at the gates to check your card to make sure you were a guest. Someone in another review mentioned that the sand rinse stations did not work but they were working when we were there. There is a nice tiki hut with good drinks and friendly bartenders. Our condo was perfect but we rented it through VRBO. The elevators could get crowded certain times of the day but no more than other places we have stayed. This resort is right beside Pier Park an we walked down there several evenings. There are shops, restaurants and a movie theatre. We plan on staying at the Calypso the next time we visit Panama City.

Calypso 2-2001W has a spectacular picturesque view of the ocean, beautifully decorated modern, with so many extras including Five star *****high end hotel comfortable type beds, master bath with a glass seated shower and SEPARATE full bath tub, wrap around balcony, all of the furniture was virtually new and comfortable, oversized new washer and dryer, stainless steel appliances, backslash in the kitchen. And to top it off - a FIREPLACE in the master suite.

Easy access to the Pier Park.

I have stayed at virtually every high rise on Front Beach over the years including Sterling Breeze,Grand Panama, Aqua, Tidewater, Splash, Emerald Isle etc..
My stay CALYPSO in 2-2001W exceeded all of the condos by one thousand!!!!

We stayed in the brand new Calypso Tower 3 Unit 1911 and it was amazing! This 3 bedroom 2 bath condo is beautifully decorated with a fully stocked kitchen, two comfortable king size beds and a set of bunkbeds. The views of the beach sunrise and sunset from the 19th floor are breathtaking, and the covered resort skywalk makes beach access convenient and safe. The resort amenities (pool, hot tub, pool bar, restaurant, gym, security, etc.) are second to none, and Pier Park (shopping, restaurants, movie theater, etc.) is just a short walk away.

We stayed at the Calypso III resort, which is only a few years old and has a beautiful pool and good fitness center. Although the resort is across the street from the beach, it is an easy, safe walk via the skywalk on the third level of the building. Our unit was on the 23rd penthouse floor, with great sunset views over the water and very nice decor. Unfortunately, the air conditioning units for the entire building are on the roof just over the suite. The constant humming noise and vibrations from the equipment made sleeping difficult. The noise from the mechanical room within the unit was also very loud and annoying as it rarely stopped day and night. The mattresses were also a little on the firm side so beware if plush is your preference. The resort does not have grills on site for those who like to BBQ.

We’ve stayed here in the past with minimal issues that were easily and quickly corrected by the owners. This time we are not as lucky. The Calypso Maintenance folks posted that the AC would be down in our tower (east) for approximately 7 hours from 9PM - 6AM. No biggie at first, we were notified and could deal with it for the evening, fans and all. However, it’s now been out for going on 60 hours with no explanation or attempts to provide any relief. I completely understand that you kind of take a risk when renting from private owners through these resorts, but this is ridiculous. HOT WITHOUT RELIEF!

They are not supposed to, but security is much more concerned about people from Towers I & II using any of the Tower III amenities.
