Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Took a chance on a new place and booked a pet friendly cottage at Coral Sands. Despite current Covid worries, I felt a cottage at the ocean would not be risky. Coral Sands provided a safe place, with many precautions in place. Staff was friendly and helpful, at a distance. Social distancing was enforced across the complex, including closing the pool when too many people ( there was a sign) were in the pool. The cottage was nicely appointed, clean, and comfortable. Towels were replaced daily as requested simply by bagging used ones and placing them outside. Small grass area right by pet friendly cottages for potty breaks.

The location is FANTASTIC! We stayed in the North Cottages number 603. 2 BEDs, small kitchen, double french doors to the patio, and a door to exit the rear. . Bathroom was very small. If you are a large person the shower may be a challenge. The room was mostly clean, there were a few dead bugs in the window sills, but at least they were dead. They are pet friendly, we had a black lab puppy with us and they had a dog area right out front with poop bags and a trash can. The area was very well maintained. I did not see any evidence of anyone leaving anything behind. There is also a Dog area at the campground, but it was not as nice and there was poop left in the area. Rooms were cleaned only when requested and our dog was shedding like crazy and tracked in a lot of sand and dirt. They came when we requested a cleaning and changed sheets, towels, swept and mopped floors. The Beach area was beautiful. Very relaxing and not many people. Stopped by the Pool area and it looked very nice. Did not go in because I had the dog. They have a laundry area that takes credit cards and I believe it was $2.50 a load. I would have given this place 5 stars, however we ended up paying a lot of extra fees. Our dog fee was $25 a day, we stayed 5 days. We were in the area for the Turkey Run at the Daytona International Speedway and we had to pay a fee of 50 for 2 days to store a small trailer on the property, after the Turkey Run. It took up a standard car space. There were plenty of open spaces available so we thought it was a little much. They also have these awesome Torches lit around the property so when we arrived Friday Night it was beautiful. They only lit them over the weekend, so when most of the people around us left on Sunday, they weren't lit anymore. We checked out on a Wednesday. All in All I would definitely recommend this property. I would also return here in the future.

We had a great few days at Coral Sands Inn. We stayed in a king/bunk bed cottage near grandparents in a king cottage and loved the easy access to the big, wide beach and fun pool! Laundry was a bonus, and the kitchenettes meant we could eat in most meals. Our cottage backed to the parking lot, but it was only loud when loud mtorcycles went by on the street. We did hear the neighbors talking early one morning through the walls, but just one morning.

They still don't have cooking/eating utensils back, so that was a bummer but we knew ahead of time and figured it out. Using the grill out on the patio was fun and helpful. Things are a bit outdated but still comfortable and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful, although we found phone calls to be very slow ahead of time. Be patient if you call because your stay is worth it! We hope to come back.

They didn’t give me the room I paid for and said there was issues with the room I wanted . I had no other choice after driving 9 hours to get there with family . Roaches crawling right beside the nightstand . Now I was born in raised in Fl for 36 years and I know Fl has roaches . I also know you can get rid of them inside . Our air conditioning was leaking water . Ruin a dog bed and some clothes . We put our towels out like they said and it took 3 days for them to pick them up and give us new ones . The hair dryer was so old and sparks flew out and had to unplug it . Phone inside the room didn’t work so we had to go get someone to ask questions which they have teenagers running it . Loud cars and trucks in and out . Gun shots . I saved for months to be able to go. I have health issues and travel has come to and end . So this was my last vac pretty much . Beach has sand fleas so bad you can’t sit on beach for fear of nasty sand bugs . Iam
So disappointed and the whole thing . My advice is GO some were else

I stayed at the Coral Sands in May and had a pleasant experience, however, I booked a stay for a family event on November 9, 2022. On November 7, I contacted the hotel because my event was canceled due to Hurricane Nicole. Ormond Beach was under a MANDATORY EVACUATION so I was calling to cancel and request a refund. The front desk agent said that her boss had not decided whether or not they would refund customers, but would call me back. I never got a call. I am currently pursuing a refund thru Hotels.com, but the same front desk agent (Georgia) is still hiding behind her “manager” and will not process a refund. I go to Ormond Beach several times a year for family events, and I like the location of Coral Sands, but I don’t think I’ll ever book there again.

I think the RV portion of this resort must have been an afterthought with very little planning except to generate another revenue stream. First, there are too many in too small of a space and there is no delineation built in between the sites. For example, we were in site 27 which backs onto the bathroom, there is a path but everyone kept walking through our campsite, literally and constantly. We tried to block it but they just went around. One person tripped over our camp-stove and another had to duck to avoid our canopy. Now the dogs....I love dogs and we travelled with two until they passed away but seriously, the camper close to us had 4 dogs, all small and chained up outside their RV barking and barking their sharp little barks like all small dogs. It was so disruptive on a nice quite camping morning, and on the other side of us a man with two dogs and he was gone most of the day, well of course they cried and whined the entire time he was away. So, now the kids, remember no delineation to define the site. The wee kids were playing hide and seek they thought they could use our site as "base" our barbecue to be specific. There is no code required for the bathroom door so they kept running in and out, imagine if someone was showering in there. No parents for a while but we spoke up and they came and took the kids away. One last thing, and keep in mind that I think the RV site was an afterthought, the pool is gorgeous, but there is a sign on the pool that states maximum 21 person, well in the RV site alone there is many more than 21 persons so think about everyone in the cottages also in the pool at the same time. Then there was the party noise that went all through the night.

All and all a huge disappointment and I am sorry to have spent my hard earned money on this place. The beach was beautiful and the staff both on the phone and in person were courteous.

We spent two nights here and found the staff to be rude and the RV sites extremely small. The office is not at the RV park, it’s in the hotel next door. On check in they told us we were in site 30, when we got there the site was too short for our 5th wheel and there were deep ruts where someone else had been stuck. I had to go back to the hotel desk and was rudely told that we were in both sites 30 & 30A and they would send maintenance over to fix the ruts. A guy showed up and raked the sand into the ruts and walked away. As I pulled in we sank in the sand and had to use 4WD to get unstuck. Once we got leveled and put the slides out we only had a few inches clearance on both sides. I would never stay here again.

I asked to back in against the beach and was told no due to size. A few days later same size fifth wheel is there. As far as the location it is nice being right on the beach. The facilities need some work. Dated, washing machines broken. The pool area is nice. They leave you be but the pull through sites are so tight you have to ask your neighbor to move any vehicle etc to get in and out. They also charged me $30 more a day than my neighbor only staying a few days. I would go back only if they will give us a back
In site on beach and reduced rate.

Made a reservation and asked for a pet friendly room. Was asked what breed and told them a rescued pit mix. Was not told we could bring her. When arrived at 8:00 pm to check in was told my reservation didn’t show I requested a pet friendly room. Was asked again about the breed and told the receptionist the type of dog. Was hen told sorry couldn’t let her stay, therefore we couldn’t stay. She did call the general manager and was told basically no acceptance. We were then told we could stay one night and the remainder of our stay that our pet would need to be boarded, which we weren’t going to do. The receptionist then called the general manager again, she said no again. Due to the management we had to drive back home and are unable to spend time with our family and friends. Did not arrive back home until after midnight. Thank goodness we weren’t any farther from home. If planning on staying with your pet make doubly sure they will let you stay/check in prior to arrival,

We stayed in a south cottage right by the beach. The beach is beautiful, quiet and was not crowded even though bike week had just ended. Gorgeous sunrises! The grounds are well maintained and chairs are available for the beach. Guest laundry is available and there are plenty of restaurants and a market nearby. The heated pool area is very nice.

Due to COVID we couldn’t rent a cabana for the beach, the lobby was closed and there were no dishes or pots & pans. The cottages need updating and wifi was mostly nonexistent.

We would come back though as this is a very nice place, the prices are reasonable and the staff is super friendly.
