The Crowne Plaza Orlando-downtown, an IHG Hotel, garners frequent praise for its service, with guests often highlighting the staff's friendliness and professionalism. The hotel's atmosphere is popular for its prime location and complimentary shuttle service, making local events easily accessible. While the rooms earn compliments for their cleanliness and comfort, a few guests have mentioned a lack of storage options.

We stayed a night here for a concert at Kia Center. It made for a perfect day! Check-in was easy, valet parking convenient, and room was nice. We had a great dinner and drinks on site before our concert then took the shuttle to Kia. After the show, the shuttle picked us up at the drop off spot then he took backroads to hotel to avoid traffic mess. It was 30 mins from show ending to the time we were back in our room. Highly recommend especially with Florida resident rates!!

Made the reservation in April for a June stay. A few days before we arrived I received an email inviting me to upgrade to the presidential suite for an extra $88 per day. Of course I jumped on it. When we arrived I was told they didn't know why I received that email because that room was "out of service" since the previous guests left due to an issue with the air conditioning. I was also told that when these offers come I should call the hotel to verify that the upgrade is available. I don't think it should work that way. If the upgrade is not available, the reservation team SHOULD NOT OFFER IT.
Anyway... our original reservation was for a 1 bedroom suite but the gentleman moved us to an upper floor and gave us a couple of drink coupons. He was very apologetic.
The suite was beautiful. Large living room area, refrigerator, Keurig, microwave, desk, TV, and couch. The bedroom was nice and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was nice but the water from the shower leaks out and the carpet in the bedroom got wet. Still not sure how that happened due to the distance. Oh, and NONE of the windows open, which was disappointing.
There was a card in one of the kitchen drawers that directed us to call an extension for glasses, silverware, or plates, which I did but no one answered the phone. I called the front desk and the woman that answered told me the kitchen didn't open until 3 pm (it was just after noon). She said she access to plastic cups which she sent up. I had to go down and ask for the plates and silverware. She provided plastic ware and only got the plates when I insisted.
The pool area is nice but the entire time we were there we saw dead bugs and leaves in the pool and hot tub. I don't know how often these are cleaned for these things but I suggest someone come several times a day.
There was a breakfast buffet but the food did not look appealing so we did not eat there. The bar/lounge had a good variety of drinks and they were able to make most drinks that are not on the menu. The did not have cognac that day.
This is a beautiful hotel and aside from the lack of utensils/plates/glasses in the room, we would stay here again. While this is a suite, there is no stove/oven nor is it stocked with eating supplies except plastic cups.

Good: Front desk staff was ok, check in & out was fast, room service, in downtown, shuttle drivers, room safe for valuables, website says valet parking but they let you park yourself. Clean hotel & room, bed was very comfortable.
Needs improvement: Room had a strong perfume scent, construction all around the hotel, in downtown, I didn't feel the location was entirely safe to walk around so if you come use their shuttle service or drive yourself. I requested a room away from the elevator bank, but mine was 2 rooms away and the first night guests in the hallway were loud after 10 PM.

I stayed here for a long weekend. The hotel itself is true to budget with only two ice machines on the same floor in the whole hotel, ice cold water showers often, and unhelpful staff. But Maria the housekeeper made our experience! If you stay at this hotel, request her!

Stayed at The Crowne as it was the only hotel with availability during a Jason Aldean concert. Stayed one night and the room was $316.12. However the day after check out I was charged $225 additional for a smoking fee. No one smoked in our room. When I called to discuss this with the hotel numerous times NO ONE that could do anything was ever available. I called the corporate office twice and was told someone from the hotel had 48 hours to call me to get this correct. Never happened. Then after calling and complaining I was charged another $225. For a total of $766. When contacting the corporate office again the stated that I need to dispute the charges with me bank!!!! The customer service at this hotel was horrible. It’s an old hotel and for one night I have been charged $766. The worst part is how nasty the hotel staff that handle the charges are. I will never stay at the Crown ever and I will make sure every one knows how terribly I was treated and as of today 7 days later the issue is still not resolved.

The hotel given its age is well kept. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.
A huge shout out to Roberto the Hotel Manager. He is very kind and cares for his guest.
I would stay here again! Lovely Hotel.
The hotel features a heated pool and hot tub. We did not use however it was beautiful.
If you should rent a car from the Thrifty car rental , located at the hotel, be aware they tack on insurance waiver fees without your consent. This happened to us. Do not let them charge you for unnecessary services. Read your contract before you sign for the car. My husband and I are fighting these charges through our credit card company.
Thrifty Car Rental is adjacent to the Crown Plaza but is not of the same company.
What oughta be a service to the guest has been a bit of a Finacial hardship for us. We are not holding the hotel liable. We do want the hotel management to be aware of the situation we are dealing with. I am sure other people are dealing with the same.
The sale of added on services result in commission pay for the representative who sold it.

Nothing wrong with this place beside the road construction right out front, little tricky to get into the parking lot. Otherwise it was great night of sleeping, wonderful shower, everything you would expect from a place like this. The breakfast was awesome, surprised to see omelet bar. It’s not far from Exploria Stadium.
You will need to pay for parking, just be carful you don’t get billed twice. The valet charges you & the hotel does too. So pick one.

Came to check in early not really expecting any rooms to be ready by 10 AM. I checked in with Kristyn who was very kind and immediately recognized my platinum status! Not only did she check me in at 10AM, she also upgraded my room to a beautiful and spacious suite knowing I needed space to hold meetings. After getting in she provided a courtesy call to ensure everything was perfect! She even provided another option to overlook lake Concord! Naturally I chose that option! The next morning I spoke with a gentleman for a late check out and gladly granted me an extended check out! Also a shoutout to Dee who helped with the reservation as well! The only place I believe needs improvement is room service. They wanted me to wait almost an hour to get some plastic silverware delivered and even stated they would have charged me a delivery fee for them.
Overall definitely recommend staying to this property you are minutes from everything downtown and have great service!

The hotel is in the perfect location and had a great free shuttle to help guests who don’t have a car around with ease. My service experience was at time amazing and other times not great. My welcome from Damon and John, was perfect! I had a rough day and they were both funny, empathetic, and eager to help me settle into Orlando. The shuttle drivers Leaford and the one from Saturday evening were also so kind to tell me where I can locate local things. The operations manager Dominic is exceptional. He was so happy and upbeat all the time, you could not help but have it rub off. He looked up restaurants for me, called me cabs when where I needed to go was beyond the shuttles route, and always made sure I had a great experience with his team. Maria M. from the housekeeping staff checked on me everyday and it really made me feel at home! She is fabulous! Then for breakfast there were two ladies, one welcoming and the other not. Jewel made sure I had everything. She took time to talk with all the guests that were there for breakfast. Then once I was done, she gave me more tips. Finally, the GM William, is such a nice guy. He really wants guests to have a good experience. On checking in I got a personal letter with my name typed on it, including a welcome drink at the bar. Then when there were issues he came right alway and to actions to resolve them. What I will say is the hotel has 75% perfect of its staff that cares about guest experience and they rest just don’t. I was charged for parking for 2 days, when I didn’t have a car and the person at the front desk did not even apologize for the error. I had repairs needed in my suite and the repair team said they fixed it, but didn’t. William, came to the rescue. The other operators supervisor was so rude and used his position to try to intimidate me on an issue that he was definitely wrong. The other woman at breakfast when I asked for almond milk, from my allergies would not allow me to touch the milk bottle and I had to ask for it several times, before getting it. At checkout when I asked to see my bill, it became a big thing and consequently I was charged incorrectly. I had to call the hotel from the airport to get it corrected. I like the location of the hotel, most of the staff is exceptional, the rooms are spotless, and GM great about your experience, but what could have been a perfect experience was clouded by a few bad actors. I appreciate everyone listed for my memories and I will definitely return.

My daughter and I stayed here last week for a conference. The room was nice and we loved Maria our cleaning lady Maria. She deserves employee of the year! She treated the room with so much detail and enthusiasm.
Now for the not so good. My daughter had a package that had to be delivered. She mentioned this to the front desk numerous times. Upon arrival of said package, the front desk staff declined the package and returned it to sender! Their reason for this incompetence was they said
that my daughter canceled her stay while she had been checked in for 2 days!
The 3rd and last reason we reason that pushed us over the edge happened when I was sitting in the designated smoking area playing my iPad in the evening I was suddenly screamed at by one of the security staff. He yelled to let him see my room card! When I did he yelled to get out of there. I walked to the valet out front to get away from the security and the security guy was right behind me and demanded to see my room key again! I was appalled to say the least.
The next morning when I went down to get the free breakfast which I was billed for I told one of the workers about my experience the night before, they said “ it was probably because there a homeless encampment behind the hotel!” That was it for us. ……
Another excellent employee was Bea from breakfast service. She went above and beyond for me!
