Had an amazing stay at here. Manager Marisa R. was extremely helpful and very professional! The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to help us with anything we needed. The room was spacious, very clean, and had all the amenities to make our stay comfortable. Definitely a fantastic experience—I’d highly recommend this place!

Having read the reviews prior to booking I knew I would need to get a tower room – which is what I have booked. The room itself was of a decent size, the bed was comfortable, air conditioning worked – so all in all it was fine.
Breakfast had a great spread and was free from Diamond member. Food in the main restaurant otherwise was just OK, nothing special, nothing bad, with an OK service.
Most people I have interacted with were polite, willing to help and service oriented.
I was in town for a conference and the I-Drive trolley is very convenient (despite not being able to trust the timetable) to and from the Conference Center.
There are though some downsides to the stay:
No upgrade given to a Diamond member – though seeing the list of Diamond and Gold members in the breakfast which runs 6 pages long, I cannot be that surprised. That said, booking almost the top room upfront should have given a better chance of an upgrade.
Sham resort fees – Cannot beat around the bush – I hate those sham add on of resort fees. Here it gets you parking (I did not have a car), high speed interment (already got that as a Diamond benefit), 2 bottle of water (already got that as a Diamond benefit), and once a stay free appetizer when you buy an over expensive main course. All in all it does not provide any value to the guest, while representing additional 10-20% of the room price.
Late cleaning – all the days my room was not cleaned until late afternoon (4-5 PM time frame). While I understand the prioritization of departing guests’ room – it is still very late.
Toilet malfunction – the regular the mechanism is stuck and need a little giggling – but trust me, you never want to see the inside of the toilet tank in a hotel.
If you get a room in the tower, you’ll be fine. It was a decent stay – especially for the price paid.

This is my second time staying here. The first time the room needed updating, which has happened! Check in and other staff were nice. I had a nice Salmon entree for dinner at the bar.
My issue this time is that I ate at the bar, the bartender Glenda, was nice... however, when I took a closer look at my receipt the next day, I noticed that I was charged $4 extra for "Neat" on my two Woodford Reserve bourbons. Seriously, I'm being charged for NOT having ice in my drink. The bartended didn't pour by measure, so it's hard to accept that I got more bourbon than if there was ice.
To top things off, I emailed the hotel manager, TWICE, and got no reply at all. I was trying to give him a chance to explain this charge, without bringing it here, but evidently customer complaints aren't worthy of a reply, so here it is. I didn't order off a drink menu, I could clearly see the bottle of Woodford Reserve from where I was sitting. The bartender didn't tell me that it was more for Neat. I wouldn't even have known it had you just charged me the $2 more per drink, instead of breaking out a charge for 'neat.' This is a self-inflicted wound, Doubletree. It's bad enough that we get charged a resort fee for the same things that used to be included. As a Hilton Diamond member I resent being nickeled and dimed, as should all guests.

First and foremost, the food from Laguna (restaurant in hotel) was exceptional and I enjoyed the Tiki bar. It was freaking. I do not Double Tree hotels because they don’t have microwaves. But, we were forced to stay because of a VB tournament. I gave them a 3 because I’m OCD and I look in corners and everything for cleanliness and the bathroom corners weren’t cleaned properly and the furniture had cup stains on them: I always bring lysol and wipes with me so I cleaned myself especially since Covid. Also, I was appalled that they charged $6 for the continental breakfast and they didn’t have cereal. It was muffins, bagels, other breads like croissants, apple, oranges, and juice. There was no cereal or yogurt. They did serve you and I liked that due to Covid. I can see charging for the buffet breakfast. My MAIN issue was how super thin the walls were. We couldn’t rest day or night because we literally felt like the people next door were in our room talking. They weren’t super loud or anything, but we heard word for word because of the thin walls. I wish the club had chosen another hotel because there were some closer to the convention center. But, the walk to the center wasn’t bad at all.

When we got to Hilton at 3pm the room was not ready. We had to wait two hours and stand in line 3 times to ask about the room, and it wasn't a short wait in line. They kept offering us drink vouchers but I was tired from a full day of travel and wanted to shower and relax. We didn't get any Chocolate chip cookies. We finally got the room number and key and when we got to the floor the floor was soaked. When we went to the room the floor in our room was soaked by the a/c and the walk way, we tried to call the front desk, but no one answered. We then left for the day and stopped by the desk to let them know, they said they would take care of it, but they didn't. We then tried to call again and no one answered. We had to call reservations and then be connected to an off duty manager. They said they would take care of it. Someone came to our room and checked the a/c and said nothing was wrong with our a/c, left an industrial fan to dry the carpet, and told us not to run the a/c until they came back. They never came back and left the fan in our room for the rest of our stay. After the hassle that we had we just didn't bother telling them anything else.

I really enjoyed the hotel. It was clean on the grounds I would have liked the room to be cleaned. They cleaned and sealed all rooms due to covid and didn't access even for trash. It would be more beneficial due to covid to wipe things down daily. There was dusty areas in the room and if they continue with not wiping things down room start to look bad. The room was huge we were on the back parking lot side bld 10 it was ok location. Room had wet bar fridge and microwave. Time to update the showers looked a little worn. There was the "adult" pool area not really but the kids loved the back pool with the water sprouts more than the one closer to our room. Lots of activities for families with children. Food options were good we tried pizza and wings. The breakfast was not great lines to wait to pick a wrapped muffin not good. Hotel should just set up pre-wrapped items and fruits so people didn't have to line up outside the door. Then it was confusing on pay items vs included items. The hotel was nice size we didn't walk the entire site. We did cross the street for the liquor store and lunch at Cheddars. There was also a walkway to Sea World.

We stayed at this Doubletree for 14 nights whilst visiting orlando from the UK and were really pleased with most of what the hotel had to offer. The bedroom was a great size with enough space to allow you to really settle in, the air-conditioning was fantastic, the beds were comfy and the in-room fridge was really helpful! The only area of the room that was a bit of the letdown was the shower, which seemed quite dated.
As for the staff, we had a very warm welcome complete with warm cookies and in most instances the staff were very kind. I will say that during busy periods some of the staff in reception could be a little bit blunt and we felt like a bit of a hindrance to them when asking for help or advice. Most of the time though staff members were very helpful especially those you'd catch around the grounds and by the entrance.
The pools and facilities were really clean and great fun, we ended up spending a lot more time than expected in the pool as it was such a nice atmosphere that we just kept wanting to go back down there to relax. (Happy hour at the pool bar is also a big plus in my book).
Overall, apart from minor niggles, this is a very nice place to stay and I would definitely come back!

The good: it's cheap, generally friendly staff (if you can find them).
The bad: almost everything else.
When we arrived, had one person working check in with a line out the door. Was given a room in a "villa" to start. Looks as if they purchased a Days Inn next door and branded it a Hilton. Bathroom floor was dirty, room smelled of pets, and the chair in our room had the legs leaning against it / not attached. Moved to the tower after complaining. Tower room was better, but nearly impossible to get more shampoo / conditioner / towels/toilet paper throughout our one week stay. The front desk DOES NOT answer the phone, and there are consistently 10+ people in line at all reasonable hours of the day, There is no coffee or food of any type available before 8AM. Was pointed to a single serve Keurig machine in the lobby that had no water in it or K-Cups. Drug use (thankfully only saw / smelled marijuana) is rampant in the parking lots, elevators, and indoor halls of the towers. It was spring break so I'll give them some slack, but rooms next to us partied until 3-4AM nearly every night of our stay. Absolutely NO security presence (best to batten down the hatches at about 8PM and hope for the best) and good luck getting the front desk on the phone. Grounds themselves are littered with trash (plastic plates in the bushes etc.) that remains for days. Tasks that should be low hanging fruit such as regularly emptying the trash in the pool area go undone for far too long, resulting in a trash heap reminiscent of Mt Everest most of the day. Gates for the parking you pay $18 a day for were left open approximately 50% of the time we were there.
Overall, in my opinion this hotel has a severe management problem and is drastically understaffed. The employees seem to be hardworking and doing their best, just very limited. Very cheap drinks at the bar, which you need to take your mind off the rest of the situation. Glenda at the bar rocks it, even though she is there alone when there should be 2-3 bartenders for the crowds they had. Honestly, never really had an experience like it and definitely won't be back. Dumfounded it carries the Hilton name.

Dear Kyle, I am sorry to hear about your experience, however I greatly appreciate your detailed account of your stay. We take safety, cleanliness and friendliness very seriously and it sounds like we only hit on one of those for you. We are clearly not meeting our standards based on your stay and will work diligently to improve immediately. I am sorry that there was no one you could talk to or get a hold of during normal hours without having to wait. We have been very busy during spring break and with over 1,000 guest rooms and suites, we typically have guests checking in all day long. We should have been able to better inform you of your F&B options during hours the restaurant is not open. We do have security at the property and their presence should always be known and seen during times of need. I will meet with our department heads about your experience and do my best to ensure this improves for our future guests' stays. If you would like to reach out to us with further details or questions, please email us at info@doubletreeorlandosw.com and we will respond to you directly. Thank you again for this valuable feedback and I hope we have the opportunity to serve you in the future with an experience more suitable with the Hilton Brand.

Don't stay here! I had hope because it was a hilton doubletree that it would be up to par to the normal. .. it most def was not. It was horrible. I ended up in one of the non tower rooms ( which I did not realize when I booked) I did not have a car having used the train and uber to get to Orlando so it was just me dragging all of my luggage to villa 16 and up the stairs ( no elevator) by myself.. which is not ideal when you have a heart condition. I had only a few minutes to drop of my luggage and then be back out the door because I had an appointment to get to so I didn't really look at the room. When I got back that night though I was disappointed to say the least. Housekeeping left two towels, no hand towels and no wash cloths in the room, so i called down to reception and asked for them to be brought up. Waited a couple of hours and still hadnt received anything. Since I had to go down to the lobby area to pick up my uber eats meal ( which is annoying and flat out not safe to do at night as a woman alone) I got the linens while I was there.Customer Service at the front desk was less than ideal too. Myelf and several other people stood in line while one gentleman working behind the counter spent time fliritng with a fellow worker. Flat out ignoring the large line in front of him. Over the next two days I noticed more and more disgusting and disturbing things in the room. I didnt even bother to ask them to clean it bc clearly they didnt do the job the first time. I went out and bought clorox and did it myself. There was body hair ( I'll leave it at that) on the bathroom floor that absolutley could not be mine, trash left in the trash can ( again not mine), the light next to the bed was broken, the outlets were torn off the wall and just hanging loose ( super safe ) , holes in the wall near the tv, mold in the shower, and the fan in the bathroom didnt work.... also groundskeeping is clearly not doing a great job because there was trash on the ground when I checked in Wed that was still there when I checked out Saturday. Including overflowing trashcans and underwear in the lobby driveway. I still have yet to get my receipt for staying here ( and I checked out Saturday morning) Never, Ever, Ever again will I stay here.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to leave your valuable feedback, I truly appreciate it. I am so sorry for your experience, we clearly did not live up to your expectations and based on your account, ours either. We have 24 hour security on our 28 acre property and expect them to keep all of us feeling safe at all times. It sounds like your room was in need of some maintenance. It appears we may have missed some steps in our new Hilton with CleanStay Protocols when preparing your room. We would appreciate if you could share with us your room number at info@doubletreeorlandosw.com so that we may check this room, coach the housekeeper who prepared your room and fix the concerns. Thank you for your feedback and being a part of our improvement. Safe travels in the future and I hope you give us the chance in the future to show you the experience we hope all of our guest have. We offer live entertainment 2-3 days a week, have special events 4+ days a week and expect to do so in a safe, clean and healthy environment for our guests and staff alike.

I am sure at one point this was a very nice motel, but those days are long gone. I am a Hilton Honors member and I have never stayed at a Hilton property this bad. The staff were able to get us checked into our rooms it took a great deal of time because we had two rooms and trying to get them in the same area was a bit challenging despite being booked on the same reservation number. My wife reported that the cookies were very good, she ate my cookie as well as her own. The rooms we given were NOT in the tower but were in one of the “villas” (which is a nice way of saying you drive up, park outside your room and unload by the door of your room; the door motel type layout). The room had clean towels, clean sheets, empty garbage cans and I think that is as far as the cleaning went for the room. The first night when I when to take a shower I stepped into the tub my feet left black footprints in the tub that is how dirty the carpet was in the room. I found a container with food in it from a previous guest to the room around the edge of the bed. The room had A/C but the unit did not run very well and at it’s best it was keeping the room about 75 degrees. My wife is in a wheel chair so we requested a “roll-in shower” and that was what was on our reservation, instead they gave us a “converted accessible room” with handrails around the toilet and then extending into the bathtub. Fortunately, this is not my wife and my first trip together and I came prepared with a shower chair which will fit in the bathtub. Parking is interesting, the parking lot has controlled access using the room key, but when we arrived the bar was up, and every time we came or went during evening or at night the bar was up, but then during the day the bar was down. The time when I would want the bar down for security to control access to the parking lot is precisely when it is always up. To add to my concern for security at one point a room key to my children’s room was lost and my child went to the front desk to ask for a replacement key, he was given a replacement key without asking for any identification. I did see a security guard on the property once in the three days I stayed on the property. The key question here is would I stay here again, NO.

They have always been very generous to us as well as friendly. I've asked for extra cookies before and they have immediately accommodated. I'm not sure about bringing them to the room as they keep them in a warming tray until served. I've stayed there several times. It Is worth it especially if you are going to SeaWorld. Now I will say for transparency that I am a Diamond member so I do not know if that makes a difference but our experiences have always been positive.
The least expensive, but also the most walking, would be to take the I-Ride Trolley all the way (almost) to Universal and then walk a few block s into the Universal Parks. You can also schedule transportation through our Concierge in the main lobby or simply call for an Uber, probably the most convenient. We also have Taxis outside regularly, so there is never a shortage of options.
