Detailed Reviews
Husband and I stayed for our daughter’s wedding weekend. Overall it was a quite nice stay. We actually only live 20 minutes away (as the crow flies), but we chose to be near the rest of the wedding party and guests.
As a Diamond member, we were given a room on the 15th floor (very top-1533), and wow- such amazing views of downtown. Spacious and you just can’t beat a Hilton bed. So very comfortable. The bar downstairs is big and always seemed to have happy customers. We had breakfast both days we were there and the omelettes were HUGE. The other buffet offerings were as expected, and tasty. We never got the chance to visit the rooftop heated pool (4th floor), nor the fitness center.
The property is located at the north end of downtown, far enough away from loud revelry, but close enough to walk to a few good eateries and great little bars. It sits alongside interstate 4 which is currently under construction, and likely will be until late 2021 or so. It’s about a mile from one of Orlando’s largest hospitals. There is a train track that runs along the south facing side, and Mon-Fri the commuter rail runs from about 6am to 10:40pm or so. All of these things considered, we weren’t bothered by traffic noise, emergency vehicles, or train horns. We utilized valet parking and the valets were quick and professional. On checkout morning, we walked out with our luggage and our car was already pulled around and waiting on us without us even having to call.
Fridge kept our snacks and drinks tip top, water pressure was amazing and we had plenty of towels and wash cloths. Room attendant was very attentive and our room always felt clean. Wifi signal was good. We even forgot two of our own pillows, and the staff had them at the desk for me to pick up the day after we checked out.
My only negative was that our room a/c didn’t quite seem to be able to cool our room sufficiently. Half the room was comfortable, but the side with the bed seemed too warm.
As a local (and native) I would recommend this Hilton property.

Was in town for the parks. Navigation took us straight to the hotel. It is an older but nice and well maintained facility. Nice sized room, quiet, it was clean and comfortable, everything worked. All staff from front desk, restaurant, housekeeping and maintenance were approachable and readily willing to help with any request. Would use this facility again if in the area.

I spent two nights at the DoubleTree in Downtown Orlando as a result of being mandatorily evacuated due to Hurricane Ian. Most of the other people staying in the hotel were in a similar situation. I felt that the hotel did a good job of dealing with the huge surge of stressed out people.
The DoubleTree wasn't our first choice, but when we decided to evacuate to Orlando, many other gulf coast Floridians were making similar choices, and we got turfed to this DoubleTree with a different Hilton property.
The location is pretty good. It's close to downtown, close to the Lake Ivanhoe area, and close to I4. There were a bunch of restaurants within walking distance. The parking isn't exactly connected to the hotel, which wouldn't be a problem in non-hurricane situations.
There was no valet when we arrived. There were staff available to help with bags, etc., although the person was helping the car in front of me, so I unloaded everything myself (which was fine). My parents were able to check in early for both rooms, and from what I observed in the lobby, they had enough staff that no one was waiting for too long for check in. They were definitely well stocked with bottled water and cookies for everyone checking in.
We had two connecting rooms so that my parents could help with the kids and we could pool resources. The rooms have refrigerators which are pretty spacious. The rooms were a bit dated, but the beds were reasonably comfortable (although the pillows could have been more supportive), there was a practical set up of seating, and everything looked clean.
Because the hotel was booked to full and because the Hurricane was going to go through Orlando as a tropical storm, there was no standard housekeeping available, but you could request new sheets/towels/amenities to be delivered to your room. I spoke with a bartender, and the Hilton had several employees who stayed in the hotel for the duration of the storm warning and storm to make sure that things were running for guests. I very much appreciated that they kept the kitchen (albeit with a very limited menu) and bar (full bar still available) running and that maintenance was available the whole time. While I didn't love the limited menu at the restaurant, at least we had the option of hot food!
The hotel is on the same power grid at the local hospital, so we never lost power. The cable flickered a bit once the winds became strong. The window in my parents' room did spring a leak during the storm, but thankfully the amount of water that came in was manageable with a couple towels. The downstairs cafe and lobby became very waterlogged during the storm. But from a safety perspective, we all came through the storm. And when we elected to check out after two nights instead of the three we booked, the hotel graciously didn't charge us for the final night.

We arrived@5PM and our room was not quite ready, as we had requested a roll in shower. We were given a bar/restaurant credit while we waited. Room and staff were wonderful. This is now our future hotel when in Orlando. It is 1 mile from Advent Health, which was our destination.

I was attending a wedding. Signs in the rooms said that the hotel was not doing regular house cleaning each day, but that you could request house cleaning during the stay if desired. We called the front desk to request house cleaning for the bride and grooms’ room so that way they would come back to a clean room for their wedding night. We were told that no cleaning was possible during anyone’s stay (due to COVID) and instead the front desk just sent us a couple trash bags so we could gather up the take out garbage ourselves. We had to clean the bathroom and make the bed ourselves too. The hotel also refused to refrigerate the wedding flowers and refused to provide us with a few sets of disposable silverware when the takeout lunch we ordered did not give us any. I was very disappointed at this service, especially when there was a whole wedding block booked. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who is having a wedding - you will be treated poorly and they won’t even be willing to provide you with a clean room for your special night.

Upon check in Ricardo and his female coworker seemed to be very happy to greet me as I walked into the hotel. Right away I felt welcome. He remembered my phone call from the previous day confirming my room: as I booked through a third party. Upon walking down the hall you could tell it was a busy hotel, but the two housekeepers in the hall were also very positive and friendly even though you could tell they were very busy they stopped to say hello and make sure we could get to our room. We could, they were very friendly. Happy about my choice. Thanks Ricardo!

Lovely, huge lobby, very light (big windows) rooms, effective and quiet air conditioning system, all squeaky clean!
Staff is upbeat and visibility works as a team.
Location directly on I-4 allows getting anywhere quickly as avoids slow local streets. Fewer local dining options, howeve, than hotels closer in to WDW, although hotel restaurant is quite good.
Parking garage (reasonable!) is a big plus keeping car safety out of any weather.
A freight railroad about two blocks away might wake up light sleepers a couple times. Management thoughtfully provides ear plugs (I did not use) that would solve that issue.
A couple of our charges were not on the “final” bill and accounting department quickly added them in when we noticed.

Oh hell yeah this place is great!
I chose this place because it was fairly close to the Lynx central station and had a very good experience with DoubleTree while in Toronto. I'm pleased to say that this one lived to the same standard while solo traveling
The room was great with some amazing views because of its location. The bed was super comfortable, the bathroom was spotless and there was no noise no matter the time
One thing is that they did advertise that now you don't get daily housekeeping but rather you have to request it beforehand. I personally have no issues with it because I only use the room to sleep but it's important to mention it because when I was in Miami back in June there was no visible advertisement and took me by surprise. Is still complementary and it seems this is going to be the norm from now on so be sure to remember that
This hotel also has a small store to get your mouthwash, pills, snacks, and other stuff, which is super good. There's also a 7-11 like 3 streets down to stack up if needed be
Overall, I'm very pleased with my stay. I really recommend it if you're traveling slowly as you can reach the central station in 15 minutes by foot and from there you can check most of Orlando, including the Disney and Universal parks.
Also, they give you a cookie when you check-in. What's up with that?
For the price, location and experience it's a 5/5 to me

What a disappointing experience!!!
I was hoping to end year 2022 on high note as far hotel experiences are concerned but it wasn’t the case and it turns out to be worst for the year.
Upon check in, Agent informed me that there is not going to be any housekeeping services for duration of our stay (three nights) will provide towels and remove garbage upon request only.
This was totally unacceptable for me as I paid about $160 a night and wanted my room to be clean everyday.
I told Agent that this information wasn’t available to me while making reservation either on Double Tree website or through Expedia, he replied that you can go to other hotel because this is the policy and they are not going to change for me. Very rude
For Double Tree, to not provide essential services and replacing them with two cookies and water bottles at check in time are totally unacceptable and cash grab from there customers.
If this is the cooperate policy then mention clearly in on your website as it’s is mentioned about no parking and no breakfast.
Paying customers should decide about the service they want to get while making reservation and not at the check in time as it’s already too late to change or cancel reservation.
So basically it’s staying at Air BNB but paying 75% more. At least with Air BNB parking is not extra.
Most of the hotel chains have started this policy to save on labour cost by screwing their customers.
Marriott Resident Inn provide service at every 2nd day and also don’t mention this on the website or 3rd party websites.
Hotel itself was not worth the price. Everything is dark from lobby to hallway to rooms. Almost black carpet in the room. Worn out sofas in the lobby and empty restaurant.
Saw housekeeping staff putting all dirty laundry outside of each room ( see two pictures attached) which give very unhygienic feeling.
Hallway not vacuumed even one day during our there days stay there.
Lady at the checkout was friendly.
In future I will stay away not only from Double Tree but all Hilton brand. This is cooperate greed at the highest level.
I am not blaming the hotel staff whatsoever, they are following whatever instructions are coming from head office.
Parking not included
Breakfast not included
Housekeeping services not included
Cleaning not included, but don’t worry two cookies and two bottles of water will replace everything.
Stay away from this brand. Protest against cooperate greed. Time is not far when hotel guest will have to do everything for them just as checking out our own grocery at stores.
I don’t want to receive any generic cut and paste response from GM or any other management team. If my concern make sense to you (which I doubt ) then do something about it.

The pool was decent except that they allowed smoking & let people smoke joints out there, our room was somewhat clean (although the corners in all rooms and behind the furniture had visible debris and dirt; also the shades don’t close all the way, so you’re getting up early with the sun in your face if you don’t have a sleep mask on), the day staff (Jennifer) & daytime maintenance guy (Randy) was really nice, as was housekeeping (shoutout to Anita), but there were more issues than not. This is an old building, which cannot be helped, but the parking gate is broken: when you come in the right gate, only the left gate opens. That is a major security issue as well as very inconvenient. Furthermore, the parking garage is all jacked up. The first 3 floors are reserved for valet, although not full, & even more inconvenient is that the parking garage is not connected to the hotel, so you literally have to take an elevator & go outside to walk to the entrance to get in. If you don’t use valet, you’re dragging your bags. There is no shuttle at all. Be prepared to Uber. Our electronic room key was broken, the fridge was wired so that we either had to leave the light on to keep it running, or set It on top of the counter & plug it into another outlet, the mattress was hard, we had a giant cockroach in our room (one tried to take a shower with me as I screamed for my husband to get it out), they “give” you a $15 per person comp for breakfast, but ONLY if you don’t take the Hilton Honors points, They did take some off of our bill for the cockroach incident, but, overall, we would not stay here again unless we were desperate.

There was no fee for parking and there were ample spaces. There were resort fees but you can find out what they are by calling the hotel directly. Hope this is helpful.
