At Westgate Lakes Resort and Spa, guests have experienced a variety of service levels, with some finding staff unresponsive and coordination lacking. The rooms are spacious and modern, but noise and cleanliness concerns have been mentioned. While the atmosphere offers vibrant activities, the crowdedness can detract from tranquility.
Although the hotel is generally clean, some guests suggest a need for better linen management. The value proposition has been questioned due to high costs and extra charges. Amenities are abundant but have received criticism regarding maintenance and unexpected fees.

I booked this trip and was a little worried after reading the reviews. However, I have been pleasantly surprised. The grounds are gorgeous and the workers are constantly working outside to keep it pristine. I’m staying in building 1000 and it has a beautiful view of the lake and water park. I’ve seen some amazing sunsets. The resort has a concrete walking path along the entire lakefront and I’ve taken a nice nature walk everyday. There are 8 pools with hot tubs and they are all heated. The pools also have bars but they were not open this time of year. The room we had was the 2 bed, 2 bath. The room is a bit dated but was large and nice enough. The master was very large with a king bed and the bathtub/jacuzzi was amazing! You could fit 5 adults with problem. The kids had their own room and bathroom. All rooms also have a large screened porch with dining table and lounge chair/table. The kitchen was missing a few items so I called and they brought them right up. Once I opened the dishwasher a couple days later, I found most of the missing items. They do need to get cookie sheets and pizza pans but other than that they had what we needed. The management team texted daily to check on our stay and to see if we needed anything. The staff is super nice. The resort is huge but they do have golf carts to drive you around. They have miniature golf out along the lake too which was nice addition. The water park is really nice. It does cost extra. I was told $25 per person for a band and you can use it all week. I’m not sure this is true because we do not have any small kids with us to even try it. If you’re not super picky and looking for an affordable place close to Universal with lots of amenities, I say give it a try!

Enjoyed the 5 day stay at the West Lakes Resorts. It is centrally located to lots of restaurants, shopping and just a 20 min drive from Disney. Very easy to get around in the area but of course, heading to Disney one should be prepared to traffic and long lines..
Check in was easy and staff was friendly and professional. Our rooms were nice and clean upon arrival and when we asked for a different room with a better balcony view, we were promptly accommodated Note: Rooms are not cleaned on daily basis so you will need to call for service as needed. When we called for more towels, they asked if we wanted the beds changed also (someone came while we were out but unfortunately, they cleaned but did not sweep the floors and there are no brooms for us to do it ourselves). We had tickets to the water parks and participated in some of the daily activities scheduled by the staff. Lots of towels provided by pool and there are plenty of lifeguards and staff in the pool area for any needs.
Would definitely go back.

Overall our stay was average but we expected a bit better from Westgate. The room was a bit dated but very clean. It needed a bit of minor maintenance, not a problem to overlook. The room had no spare linens on a below average freeze weekend so we had to bother housekeeping but they were very friendly. The registration process and staff need a complete overhaul. We pre-registered by email 3x, then received a text to register again and hour before we arrived. We then thought that meant we could check in an hour later. After arriving at 1, completing a fourth registration and paying we were told we couldn't check in until after 4 and would receive another text. At 3:45, nothing. We finally found a manager who got us outlet room 10 minutes "early." The registration staff were clearly uninterested in being at work. Two of the four were doing nothing. The two working could not have cared less. It was too cold to utilize the outdoor amenities but we did try the pizza at Sid's - pretty good! We also grabbed a few items from the market, very well stocked and lots of options (be prepared to pay resort prices, of course.) The arcade was cute, the kids seemed to enjoy it, we played a few games while waiting for our pizza. The Starbucks/deli in the lobby was closed the majority of the time we were there. Room service is only from 5-9pm from Sid's. This is a bit inconvenient when your room is at the back of the property. Overall an okay stay but next time we'll try a different resort in the area. There are too many to be mediocre!

Check in was easy, the lobby was really nice so we were disappointed when it came to our room and the service along with it. Make sure to bring your own toiletries because the ones provided aren’t very good. If you plan one being there for a few days you will need to call down and ask for clean linens. They do not come in to refreshen the linens at all. We had to text them after two days for fresh wash cloths and they just brought us a huge bag full of all the towels to stock the room and we had to put them away. If you need ice you have to contact them via text and they will bring it to your room usually 45min-1 hour after you reached out. You cannot call the front desk. There is no number or extension so you either have to text of walk into the lobby. The shower and tub are very outdated and filled with cracks and outdated fixtures and the carpet is filthy, trust me and wear your socks/slippers! Our room was next to another who had small children and a dog so we woke up early every day to screaming children and a barking dog 5 of the nights during our week long visit. We were put into a villa on the lower level, the morning after arriving even though we have a very late check in we were called at 8:00 am and woken up to be informed that our stay came with VIP access which included 2 free breakfast, free entry to ALL their amenities, discounted tickets to universal, Disney ect. And they will take us to on a quick 1 hour tour of the facility, give us a complimentary breakfast and answer any questions if we had them. It sounded great. We came down and after about 5 minutes into breakfast were handed off to a salesman trying to sell us a time share where we were then informed everything we were just told was “included” in our room purchase was only if we viewed a time share and sat through a sales presentation for 1 hour. This was not how I planned on starting my vacation. They even try to ask you lots of personal financial questions and your marital status age ect. Super inappropriate in my option! And when you say you’re not interested they keep pushing. I actually had to get an attitude with the lady in charge to get the point across they I will never purchase property from them especially if I do not have all rights to it. Don’t waste you time here and stay at a normal chain hotel.

Location is close to stuff but otherwise this visit was awful. We usually stay in Kissimmee at Wedtgate and will only return there. Was here 12/7-12/14 and had the WORST customer service I have ever had at a westgate after going for 30 years. Only one supervisor was helpful. Our fridge made noises I showed them a video of for 3 days and woke us each night they were dismissive and lacking in response since I had to complain 2X a day and finally on the third day Krista was helpful she made sure they replaced the fridge finally. Also their maintenance supervisor on told my friend staying with me that “the building is old, we are full, the pipes will make noise, nothing we can do” which was rude and incorrect when Krista had the fridge finally changed the noises finally stopped. Now you would think these people would pay attention and stop messing up…they did not I called before we left the last day because we were told we had a late check out at 1pm (that is Krista for helping us no one else did) and they said yep it’s all set no worries I asked if I needed to do anything and was told NO. Well lied to again they de activate the room keys and that’s not their fault (even tho I called and asked I wasted 20 minutes again because this place sucks) took no responsibility at all was not helpful and was rude and dismissive. NEVER again I did call after which was also terrible and took 30 minutes of run around to be told really sorry we can take care of your $57 room charges since you don’t want to stay here again…so awful will never stay here again or recommend this location I will go out of my way to tell anyone how terrible it was. Save your money and stay elsewhere or stay at the Kissimmee location if you will get crap service. I am happy to send the awful noise I got on video to anyone who wants to hear the screeching noise that woke us including a kiddo who was only 10 at 1am really fun for vacation. You SUCK!

These are the biggest rooms you’ll find, nicest place to stay up here by universal area. Your very very close PLUS no traffic coming back cause your soooo near. Everything you need are in these rooms. Call for almost anything it’ll come from pots and pans to paper goods, excellent for a family, huge. I got 2 bedroom GRAND. Your reservation make sure it says GRAND 1 bedroom or 2…grand or you’ll get smaller version 1-2 bedroom,I know. If you are planning go Disney parks…I’d stay westgate town center in Kissimmee…the traffic to come back to here Westgate at turkey lake from Disney areas is horrible forgetit….you want Disney, stay down there Kissimmee…it’s 4 miles away from Disney main car entrance,u can go any park from there,Disney park. If You stay up by turkey lake it’s traffic, bout 10 miles on rt4 to get back. I’ve been with westgate when they only had turkey lake rd resort, before others were built,99 I think. Met my wife then…we own 7 days. We watch westgate florish and expand. But I’ve been couple places too….cant-beat furniture and rooms Westgate has. Buena vista, swan, ect ect…there nice but 10 days like we stay,Westgate accommodations hold up as far as rooms go….property. Westgate pretty hard to beat…go take a tour you’ll get room for 4 nights special price,we did 20 something yrs ago…remember…turkey lake rd Orlando fl is best for universal area, international drive area, there’s 1 water park that area to without getting on rt4 west……..if you are doing Disney u stay at Westgate town center Kissimmee fl…..less gas Les traffic cause who ever takes a vacation there, between universal and Disney is 10 miles of weekday work traffic plus park traffic. You will fall into a Monday work day or a Friday…rt 4 has construction now,I was there thanksgiving week 10 days 2024

Worst furnished kitchen I have ever seen. Ask for a broiler pan they bring a roasting pan. No cookie sheets, no pot holders, no tongs, no blender. No kitchen scissors. Instead of pot holders they bring 4 dish towels. Instead of a spatula so you can scrape a bowl they bring the utensil you flip eggs with. Paring knife couldn’t cut paper. No trivets or hot plates to put on a table. Townplace suites is better equipped. Third time here as an Interval Exchange..WILL NOT be back..room 6064C. If we shut the lights out over the bar in the kitchen, the bedroom ceiling fan turns off.

1. WiFi service is constantly down and being such a tourist city where many guests require to be connected by WiFi in order to communicate, they must guarantee a 100% functional network. 2. The service of the restaurant Draft sports bar and grill is terrible, we were with my family watching a game of the Copa America and with only 5 minutes to finish the game, after eating in the restaurant and having paid the bill, one of the waitresses turned off all the TVs without consulting, and asked us to vacate. 3. They never clean the hotel rooms, the beds are not laid, they do not wash the bathroom during the stay and they do not change the towels.

I gave a one star because I had the pleasure of interacting with Donna in the nail spa and Camille Santitian, our sales rep. As stated in numerous google reviews, the unit (1011A) was not cleaned prior to our arrival and if it was, then there is a breakdown in the definition of cleanliness. I had to clean the unit myself, which after driving for 8 hours was not fun, to say the least. There were knobs missing from drawers, tub in the secondary bathroom was dirty and quite honestly, it is extremely mind boggling why a resort that presumably goes thru many bed linens wouldn't simply throw away those linens that are stained instead of reusing them under the guise of "they've been washed, it's just a stain". Seriously, that makes no sense. You can't be saving that much money on the practice compared to the feeling of filth that one encounters when seeing these sheets on a supposedly clean bed. Are you not even reading the reviews, or is the Social Media response team just cranking out perfunctory and insincere responses? I am now an actual owner instead of a casual prospect only because of Camille. You DID NOT put your best foot forward the week of 6/4-6/11 in which we were celebrating my youngest turning 21. The water issue (I can't even fathom how such a thing could happen at a resort...in Orlando...where there are tons of water sources), the inability to connect streaming devices (that we agreed to power from our own personal hotspots) because the TV's were far too close to the walls to reach and maintenance had to jimmy them in, the closing of the Market before 10 pm, when it's scheduled to close at 11 pm. This is to speak nothing of the horrible Starbucks staff, abominable scarved server at Drafts or the general unhelpfulness of those in your employ tasked with providing information, such as where is "X", do you know how to get to "Y", etc. Aside from the Salon staff, our salesperson Camille and the very laid back van driver, your establishment could use a refresher course in providing good customer service, or even passable. I am hoping beyond hope that becoming an owner will somehow motivate your cleaning, pool, concierge and food services staff, but in re-reading the online reviews, my hope may be misplaced. You seriously need to do better and this week was obviously not a good week for your business to show your customers/owners what you are made of.

While check-in was easy, I asked to stay in one of the recently renovated rooms as a friend is an owner here and recommended I do this. I was told they would accommodate, however, we were placed in one of the original buildings. When we entered the room, it appeared one of the staff had eaten their lunch at the table as there were peanut shells and crumbs on it. Several cob webs on the walls and in the corners of the ceiling. I made the front desk aware, however, we checked-in late, and just wanted to lay down and go to bed. They did offer to send someone up, but the bed looked and smelled of fresh linens, and we just wanted to sleep. The next day as we were leaving around noon, I spoke with the front desk and asked for someone to come up, and clean the room as well as replace some of the linens. They said, “Housekeeping was made aware and would be up shortly.” When we got back 2 hours later, the room had not been touched. I spoke with the front desk again, this time asking what they defined as shortly. They said they would send someone up right away, this became 45 minutes. Later in the evening, while going to the balcony, I stepped on a small machine screw that was near the sliding glass door leading to the balcony. Everywhere we went on resort grounds was marked “No smoking” however it was not enforced at any of the pools as there were people smoking weed and cigarettes nearly everywhere we went. Overall very disappointing visit. Unless they take care of owners rooms better than guest rooms can’t imagine how this place has an overall 4 star rating.
