While the rooms are commended for their comfort and modern features, a few guests suggest some areas could benefit from updates. We had a great time at the Ritz Carlton Orlando Grande Lakes on February 3 to February 4 for a one night stay to celebrate my late birthday when we got to the resort, the valet people were very nice and when we checked and we were originally booked guest room, two queen beds, lakefront view which they upgraded to us on the resort view, but then we asked if we could get a complementary upgrade to an executive suite and since my mom who is a platinum elite member with Bonvoy they said normally it’s $600 to upgrade but the man at the front desk took a look and said that they could try to upgrade us to executive suite on the first floor, and when we first came into the executive suite, this was our first time we were staying in a refurbished sweet it had everything we needed for a one night stay I slept on the sofa bed and it felt very comfortable as well as the table where I could have room service delivered to me, as well as my parents the Half bathroom was very nice and well appointed and was very convenient to get to and the view was nice because we had two balconies and it was great to sit outside. My parents slept in the king bed and it was very comfortable and it felt like you were sleeping on a cloud, but I could just say everything was nice even their bathroom. It had a tub and a shower. We did use the tub and the shower and it felt great and the parlor room was nice to get ready for dinner and stuff however, we did not do that much at this hotel because of timing stuff but we did enjoy the pool and the hot tub there. It was a very nice time. And when we woke up, we headed to breakfast at highball and harvest and the food was good they are but I have to mention we also went to highball and harvest on the first day of our stay to have some of their bar bites and they were actually pretty good as well but everything was nice and I just wanna give a special shout out to the front desk people and the housekeeping people who go above and beyond to clean the rooms for everybody and expedite the check in process, but overall it was a great stay. I had no problems at all, and I hope to come back again in the near future.

Thank you
Valarie, John and Greg Stella

We booked the Ritz-Carlton Orlando for an extravagant birthday getaway and it did not disappoint. We were originally looking at Disney properties but decided to stay here for a way more luxurious experience which we found to be more affordable than barely comparable Disney properties. Although the hotel is about 25 minutes from Disney, they offer very comfortable, free shuttles to and from Epcot and Magic Kingdom (we went to Epcot) so it was perfect for us. The hotel was immaculate, and all the Ladies and Gentleman of the Ritz-Carlton took great care of us throughout our stay. Everyone we encountered took the time to answer any questions with courtesy and patience. We had a newly renovated guest room with resort view that was clean, modern, and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. The rooms also have free bottles of water and Nespresso pods so you can avoid buying the expensive coffee in the lobby. The bathrooms were stocked with fluffy robes, an abundance of towels, and Diptique products. We took advantage of the breakfast buffet each day at Highball & Harvest which offered plenty of options that were freshly made and included standard breakfast steam tray items, really delicious grits (my favorite), fresh fruit, as well as more creative options including freshly baked cakes, cheeses, and an egg/omelet station. We also ate dinner at Knife & Spoon which was highly recommended by staff and was good (we were not wow'ed for the price we paid). Plus there were only two very disappointing dessert options for vegetarians or those on plant based diets (without gelatin). Their service was excellent however, and the cocktails were on point. The highlight of our stay was our day at the pool where we rented a pool cabana that came with a stocked fridge (non-alcohol), TV, fan, beautiful fruit plate, chips and salsa, and our fabulous waitperson, Giovanna, who went above and beyond to help make my birthday really special. Would come back in heartbeat.

The team at the Ritz Carlton understood the importance of my trip and hit a home run! While I have family in Orlando and would be staying with the for the majority of the week, my husband and I decided to break away from our toddlers for one night to celebrate my 40th and our 8th wedding anniversary, and finally enjoy some time to reconnect. The 5star service started at check in where we were welcomed warmly and given personalized direction and recommendations for our stay. We kicked off the evening with dinner at Knife and Spoon, were we experienced Michelin-level service and cuisine. My husband (always typically frugal) wasn’t too thrilled about the idea initially but after taking the first bite of his Wagyu steak exclaimed “I take it all back. This is the best steak of my life and totally worth it.” He then proceeded to finish off my Bolognese (I only left some bc I was full). We walked off our dinner with a walk around the property and even at night, it was gorgeous and perfectly kept, with enough staff across the grounds in case you get lost. After a wonder nights sleep, we ordered room service for breakfast and our server noticed a birthday card and told me he world be right back. He returned with a birthday gift of chocolates and wine for us to celebrate with later, and a card he signed himself. Once the coffee hit, we welcomed our girls and my mom over for a day at the pool which was heated to a perfect 82° in February. We made our way over to the JW side of the resort for the water slides and the poolside service was impeccable. The 18 hours we spent at the Ritz and JW was the highlight of my birthday and my family’s weekend and I wish I could relive it all over again.

Had a wonderful experience at the Ritz for a one night getaway after a conference at Disney. Are use a power wheelchair so I am always looking for experiences that are accommodating and accessible. I was treated like an absolute queen for my one night getaway. After spending a few hectic days, a Disney for a conference it was much needed! I need a room with a roll in shower, and upon checking in I explained that I am traveling with my personal care, assistant, and prefer not to share a bed with her. However, it turns out that all of their rooms with roll in showers that are accessible only have king beds so they upgraded us to a nice room that had plenty of space for an extra rollaway bed to be brought in. Although the room plan showed that it was accessible it turns out that that room was not when we went in. So, when returning back down to the front desk, they felt terrible, and actually ended up, upgrading us to the presidential suite which was fully accessible and have plenty of room for us! What a special experience. Bryan who worked in the front desk lobby area kept checking in with us throughout our stay to make sure we were having a nice time. We also had a great time by the pool. I had wanted to use the lift to get in the pool and they ended up having to charge the battery for that. Alfonso was great at checking in, and making sure that we were taken care of. We had a wonderful server named Giovanna, who brought us wonderful drinks, and even a special treat to the hassle of a little dessert and some fruit. I was able to book a last minute facial at the spa, which was incredible. Totally worth it, and again they were very accommodating and made me feel extremely welcome and comfortable. In hindsight, I would have gone much earlier to the spa and spend the day at the pool there, because it was much quieter and serene. Next time! After a wonderful and very comfortable slumber, the trip ended very smoothly as the concierge. Carmen had coordinated a wheelchair accessible transport for me to get to the airport in the morning. It was so nice for me to not have to worry about that and they took care of everything. I was able to get there easily and with no problems. I can’t wait to come back and spend more time here.

For wheelchair users, I will note a few things. All of the pools had lifts into them, which was great. I recommend calling before hand or speaking to the concierge to make sure that the lifts are all charged so that you have a good experience. I can guarantee you will if you let them know that you’re heading down. There are buttons pretty much on all of the doors so it was fairly easy to get around independently.

The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes is one of the best hotels that I have stayed in and continuously goes above and beyond to make sure that our stay is absolutely perfect. Many special memories have taken place in this hotel, such as our engagement, wedding, birthdays, and family gatherings, and always look forward to returning back to this hotel when we are back in Orlando. It is like our second home and love the people that we have built genuine relationships over the past 10 years.

Outside the great amenities, amazing views, comfortable rooms, and attention to detail, the Ladies and Gentlemen who work in this place make this hotel one of the best in the Orlando area. Special thanks to Jon M., Lisa at the front desk, Lori M in Events Management, Trish + everyone who works in the Club Lounge, and Lorena in the Lobby Lounge for making this stay extra special for our family gathering.

I have written other reviews in detail about this hotel, but certainly it is necessary to recognize the hard work all of them and the rest of this Ritz-Carlton put in to make sure that guests' needs are met. I am definitely looking forward to coming back to this property in the near future.

I recently booked two rooms at The Ritz-Carlton Orlando using Marriott points that I earned through paid stays—it’s not like I got them for free. Since I also hold the Amex Platinum card, I was hoping to have my reservations matched to the Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts (FHR) benefits. After speaking with Amex customer service, they reached out to the hotel on my behalf, but someone named Ann outright refused to extend any FHR perks because, in her words, the rooms were on points and the hotel “would lose money” from them.
That alone was bewildering, but it got worse when I tried calling Ann directly. She had a condescending attitude, essentially implying my points-based reservation was less valuable than a regular paid stay. She even asked if I wanted to cancel my booking, which I never mentioned, and came close to canceling it for me before I could protest. When I told her not to cancel, she basically cut me off and transferred me to her manager—who showed little interest in addressing her behavior.
Honestly, I’m disappointed by this entire exchange, especially coming from a hotel brand that markets itself as luxury and prides itself on hospitality. Points are still money—I paid for those points over time. I hadn’t even stepped foot on the property yet and was already treated like a second-class guest.
If this is how they handle a simple request to match FHR benefits, I’d urge anyone considering a stay here—especially using points—to think twice or at least confirm the benefits in writing beforehand. For a five-star brand, their training and customer service attitude fell far below expectations. I will definitely take further actions on this type of absurd discrimination.

While the Riz-Carlton Orlando has a well maintained landscape as well as professional and helpful employees; the hotel itself does not stand up to 5 star.
There were noises through the flimsy door, the walls and the ceiling.
Limited TV Chanel’s.
Saggy beds.
Housekeeping forgot to clean our room one day and only once showed up for turn down service, even after we complained.
The shower stall is small at 3’x3’ and the towels and the bathrobe (we had to ask for one) are as simple as they could get away with.
The toilet made noise every half an hour or so.
The A/C compressor made such a noise every time it came on, that we kept it off as much as we could.
There was an outlet only near one side of the bed.
There is no free WiFi, nor coffee in public area in the morning.
Additional $90 @ day for mandatory valet parking (that was sometimes too slow) and resort fee (which offers very little with lots of limitations).

Very disappointing and far below the usual standard of the Ritz Carlton. Check in took a very long time, none of our benefits were applied. This wouldn’t usually be a problem except we had a 2 year old with us. No acknowledgement of him until another very sweet lady saw my frustration and the long wait and made polite conversation and also gave him a teddy bear which he loved. When I asked if we could upgrade our room for more space, lady at front desk told me they only had a presidential suite left for an extra $6K a night if I wanted more space. The hotel was empty!!

Rooms very very shabby and dilapidated, first room the carpet was coming up and stank of damp. The air con vents were mouldy. Not sure why we were put on the 10th floor miles away from the elevator and at least a 10 min walk to the pool when the hotel was empty… completely inappropriate for a toddler who could climb over the balcony if they wished. When I complained about this, the front desk didn’t acknowledge it. She didn’t have a great attitude and just asked if I had unpacked (obviously not I came straight back to move rooms) she was very unhelpful and made it very awkward.

Second room better but bath tub scuffed and cracked and dirty. Housekeeping after this however were absolutely exceptional. The biggest problem here is that there is no soundproofing whatsoever, kept awake all night by hearing doors shutting in the hallway and people walking around above.

Marketed as a family friendly resort but far from it, mostly people attending conferences and sitting around the pool on laptops. JW Marriott far nicer interior/hallway and we had more fun at their lazy river style pool. Service improved during our stay, and on the whole was good, they did call to check in which was a nice touch. Maybe things would have got better if we stayed longer but we actually checked out a day early knowing that our final night was non-refundable. Granted our flight home was cancelled but we had the choice to leave early or stay longer at the hotel and we chose to leave!

Ultimately it doesn’t matter what the hotel is like if nobody is getting a good nights sleep. To be honest, we felt completely ripped off and wish we had gone back to the Ritz Carlton Sarasota which we absolutely love. Was considering booking the new Ritz Carlton cruise but now I probably won’t bother. I have never had such an uncomfortable check in experience at a hotel. It’s a far cry from the Four Seasons where we stayed at the beginning of our vacation..

Nothing short of GRAND! From Will the valet whom was extremely welcoming and went above and beyond to Xavier at the front desk whom made sure I received a suite with a bathtub. The food was great the service was super! Housekeeping was very present and kept the rooms emasculate. lastly the entire feel at the resort was amazing it felt as if we were in an island nonstop live reggae music a fire show at night it was just spectacular. my only wish was that were was an adult only pool. Couldn’t enjoy the pool much do to it being packed with with children. can’t wait to return wills definitely return.

We actually stayed at the adjoining JW Marriott for our 4-day stay at Grande Lakes, but we spent a lot of our time over at the Ritz Carlton, so we wanted to leave a review for both. First, we have to give a shout out to Lisa, the concierge at the Ritz. On our first night there, she was so helpful to us. She really took time to answer our questions and explain how the fitness classes work, where the best places to see the GLO fireworks were and about the various excursions. She really went above and beyond. She even gave us little samples of the Whisper Creek Farm honey to take home with us!

We preferred the Ritz pool to the Marriott pools. There was better service, more comfortable chairs and a cleaner pool. We also enjoyed the live music, as was the patriotic guy who kept coming around with fruit kabobs. We also appreciated the lady who came around a few times with frozen washcloths—those felt amazing in the hot Florida sunshine! The pool was honestly a little more crowded than I like (also, I think I was spoiled by the tranquility of the spa pool). I was surprised by how many kids were cannonballing into the pool. I also didn’t love seeing dogs in the pool. There wasn’t much shade to be found when actually in the pool, which I didn’t mind, but I know some of my friends would have preferred.

We spent one spectacular day at the Ritz spa and it was glorious all around. We fell in love with the adults only pool at the spa, as well as with Jean Pierre at the pool. We had a fabulous lunch with Meagan as our server at the Vitale Café and enjoyed the spa services. My facial with Nichole was perfect.

Finally, we spent a couple of evenings in the Ritz Lobby Lounge, including Saturday night to watch the GLO fireworks (the view was perfect). They have a great cocktail menu and really fun dessert choices.

We’re excited to return to the Grande Lakes resort area and will likely book with the Ritz next time.

Dear CarrieD1979, Thank you for visiting The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes, and for taking the time to share your comments. Our thoughtful Ladies and Gentlemen make it their mission to build strong relationships through personal connections with our guests. We will enjoy recognizing Lisa, as well as others who helped to make a difference in your stay. In Orlando, few luxury spas can claim treatments as homegrown as those our spa creates from the herbs grown in the resort's organic garden, the honey produced by our resident bees, or the citrus fruit plucked from local orchards. We are delighted you enjoyed our treatments and the lovely amenities as well. We are glad you were able to revitalize your body at the Spa Café after a treatment. However, we regret any inconvenience caused at the pool due to our peak times and are grateful for your patience. We truly appreciate your comments, and look forward to welcoming you back soon. Javier Tamajon Assistant Rooms Executive
