Universal’s Endless Summer Resort – Dockside Inn and Suites garners praise for its friendly service, efficient park transportation, and convenient location close to theme parks and dining options. Guests enjoy the lively atmosphere and themed decor, although noise levels can be a concern. The value of the hotel is appreciated, especially given its amenities like frequent shuttles and early park access, yet there is room for improvement in terms of service responsiveness and amenities quality. While the rooms are generally clean and spacious, some guests note issues with noise and housekeeping.

Universal Dockside was such a wonderful stay for our Orlando trip to Universal Studios/Isalnds of adventure/ Volcano Bay. The hotel location was very close to the park, the shuttle service was so easy, very little if any wait, and were running constantly both to and from the parks. It was excellent. The room, we got the 2 bedroom suite, was a great size, beds were nice and comfy, loved the kitchen space, we used the picnic table in the room every day, bathroom space was nice as two could get ready while one showered or used the bathroom. The pool area was right outside our room and we were on the lower level and still didn't have any noise issues. The pool was absolutely beautiful. Plenty of life guards. The beach bar and atmostphere were very nice resort feeling. I absolutely loved my stay here. It was one of the more affordable Universal properties and I didn't feel like anything was missing! I would definately recommend it and stay here again!!

Dockside Inn and Suites was an amazing resort. Our check-in was quick and easy! I chose early check-in at the time of booking, did a mobile check-in the day before arrival, and our room was ready when we arrived. The employee who checked us in was so nice and explained everything I needed her to!

The rooms are so nice and so new! The beach theming was adorable and all the little touches were appreciated. My husband, myself, and our four children (5, 9, 11, 14) had plenty of room.

There are two queen size beds in the living area and another queen bed in a separate bedroom. The kitchenette is perfect for quick meals and coffee. The table has a bench on one side and two chairs on the other side. There were also a couple small ottoman chairs that could be used at the table as well.

The bathroom and vanity were standard, but had plenty of storage space (as did the kitchenette). My favorite touch were different colored hooks in each room to be able to keep up with whose towel is whose (you will understand this struggle if you are a parent of multiples).

The pool was really nice and the towels were super cute! The lifeguards were all nice and kept everyone safe! There were life jackets in various sizes for use also.

The gift shop employees were so kind and welcoming! The gift shop has lots of memorabilia and apparelyou can find in the parks. It also has a large selection of swimwear and "beach" garb.

The food court, Pier 8, had a variety of food and drinks to choose from. We ate breakfast there once. The food was amazing. The kid's pancakes are massive!!! Make your kids share if they are under 9 or not a huge eaters! We also got a couple containers of fresh fruit, a burrito meal, and a typical big breakfast (eggs, potatoes, biscuit, sausage links, and bacon). Everything was really good and fresh. The coffee was good too! Plenty of drink choices and sizes (from juice boxes and milk cartons to larger bottles of mik and juice). Overall, a pretty amazing food court meal!

The bus transportation was great and we never had to wait long for a bus. Early admission was helpful to catch several rides with low wait times before the park opens for general admission.

My family had a wonderful visit at Dockside . Our room was quiet, with comfy beds, and plenty of space to spread out!

Checked in Christmas day, beautifully decorated lobby, with Christmas music playing. Rooms were perfect for a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 teens). Reviews of sister resort (Surfside) complained about beds and linens. The beds are quite firm, but no one in our group had a complaint, we slept well. Sheets are a little scratchy, I brought sleep pants and my own pillow, so that didn’t bother me. Not sure why there were so many complaints about towels, they were soft and not too thin or skimpy. Room has a small micro, single cup pour over filter coffee maker (not Kuerig style), small but decent sized fridge, and bar sink. No plates, utensils, paper towel etc (there was a supply of paper cups, plastic utensils). Room has a hairdryer, safe, iron board and iron. Restaurant had lots of variety and our meals were good. Pool (heated) area was excellent, even had some sandy areas with loungers and pool bar. Walgreens is an easy walk for any supplies you may need. Bus transport to the parks was excellent, fast and efficient! If all you plan to do is Universal Parks skip renting a car and save the parking fees, tolls and hassle. The buses drop off way closer than the parking garage at the park. We used Tiffany Towncar service round trip to the hotel from MCO for 150.00 and they will even make a 15 minute stop at the grocery included in trip price( use this to pick up a case or two of water, bottles are expensive at the hotel and parks). Staff were friendly, helpful and checkin was quick. Absolutely would stay again!

We got a 2 bedroom family suite for 2 adults and 2 kids. The staff was friendly and helpful except one man (Richard) in the dining area. He rudely told my son he didn't accept cash. When my son pointed out there should be a sign saying his line only accepts credit, he was even more rude. Some training in customer service may help. The food court food was usually good except my cheeseburger was very dry. The prices were fair and much better than the parks. Check in was great with two friendly girls (trainer and trainee) that answered all my questions. We were able to get into our rooms a little early which we really appreciated. Although there was no daily room service, they did deliver towels, trash bags, and toilet paper when requested with a text messaging system.
I like a soft bed and the beds were pillowtop, not real soft but not hard. My bed felt like it was high quality. The linens were not scratchy as some have reported but maybe some washings have helped. A very thin blanket was on the bed so I would suggest having a thicker blanket available. The towels at the pool looked ragged and were falling apart. My other suggestion is to have a better quality of coffee available for the coffee maker in the suites. The shelves for food were very convenient, although there was not much storage for clothes. But we knew this to be the case since we had read previous reviews.
The shuttle busses to the parks and volcano bay were superb, we hardly had to wait at all with buses lined up at busy times. They were so much better than the Disney onsite shuttle buses.
It seems like the planners of this hotel really listened to what families were looking for and incorporated many of their suggestions. Just don't try to get cheap with the little things such as blankets, towels, and coffee.

The hotel was great! It was large and had a great pool area. We traveled by car. We paid $15 /day to park at the hotel per day. The parking garage was on the grounds behind gated hotel security. The shuttle to the park was 10mins maybe. The pool area was with kids’ safety vests, towels, and a bar. The pool is only 4'6" so there is no deep end. A great touch is the baby ground water sprays of water by the man-made beaches and the table tennis. We stayed in a 2-bedroom suite on the 11th floor. We stayed on the dockside, not the pool side and had a beautiful view. The stars at night with the Farris wheel lights from a far made lying in bed fell like sleeping under the stars. The room was very nice, no carpet (thank you) the hallway is carpet but not in the rooms. This is great to be able to see clean and keep clean. They have a cute surf look room with surfboards and great talk in TV for easy weather channel look up. There is a wall safe, microwave, and a mini fridge all were the perfect needed size to the need in the room. The Restaurant downstairs was over the top perfect. You could eat there or take it to go. The price was right, and they had a great variety of foods open from 7 or 8 to 11. Everything was good, hard to pick a favorite. The parks were great and very fun. Key thing for the parks…bring a fanny pack, fan some type of cooling mechanism, extra shoes, and have funny, be fair, and always be kind.

Stayed one night on April 12, 2021. Decided to try this hotel since it was new. We've stayed at 2 other park hotels and this was the nicest of the lower priced ones. Hotel is brand new which always helps. Rooms are very clean. Our first floor room had 12 foot ceilings which made the room seem much larger and more airy. The shower was configured nicely too with a curved shower door and handle opposite the shower head so you didn't get your arm wet while turning on the shower. We had breakfast in the restaurant in the morning and it was very good and reasonably priced. The park is super close to the parks and was a very short bus ride. All in all I highly recommend this hotel

We chose the Dockside Inn and Suites because it was reasonably priced, brand new and we liked the idea of having the extra space offered in the suite. We also like to stay at Universal hotels for the early entry priveleges and the transportation. The hotel is enormous. You will do a lot of walking just to get from your room to the lobby or food court. On the positive side, you can't beat the price. The hotel was very clean as you would expect a new property to be. Pools were very large and rarely crowded. Staff was extremely friendly. Shuttle service to the parks was amazing We never waited more than 5 minutes for a bus whether we were going or returning. Food offerings were good but a bit pricey ($ 12 burger) but to be expected when on vacation. Plenty of seating everywhere - lobby, food court, and pool chaises. Housekeeping was great - they came every other day to freshen up the room and replenish towels and supplies. Now for the negatives. Room walls were paper thin. We could hear conversations, chairs sliding and footsteps in room above. The bathrooms do not have fans and for the week I was there, we had issues with hot water. It took a good 5 minutes or more for the water to get hot, which is both wasteful and annoying. Parking is $ 15 per night and it is not easy to find a spot unless you want to be in the parking garage. If you don't have a pool view, the standard view is other hotel complexes or local industrial type buildings, so not much of a resort feel in those rooms. Overall, I would say the positives outweigh the negatives at Dockside. I would definitely recommend and stay here again for the cleanliness and suite style rooms with access to Universal, especially if on a budget.

We stayed at Endless Summer (Dockside) for a family vacation for 6 nights. We had a two bedroom family suite with an pool view. The room was in tower 2 on the 5th floor. Overall, for the price of this room it was a great deal since you get two separate rooms and a little kitchenette area. The pool area is big (plus there’s two of them!) and has lots of life guard coverage. The pool was freezing the one time we went in and that was enough for us, hah. If you need any housekeeping, you have to text a number they provide and they will just drop off what you need rather than come into the room and do a full service.

Pros: room size is decent, view was nice of the pool, having the Pier 8 market and Starbucks on site was nice, early park admission is a bonus, and the shuttles were relatively quick and efficient. There is an indoor bar in the lobby and two pool bars. Drinks were decent.

Cons (and I hate to sound so negative here): the hallways were not once cleaned during our 6 night stay so there were lots of little pieces of garbage and food that just sat there. Our tub would not drain, we tried calling for service multiple times and could never get a call through, we sucked it up because we didn’t want to waste all day on hold or in line to talk to someone when we had a packed schedule. The bathroom is tiny and hard to get the door closed/open if you are also in there. This hotel is meant for lots of people so there is lots of waiting needed when it comes to food or check in or the elevators. Starbucks is only open until 2pm during the week. Bars didn’t allow tabs open which isn’t a big deal but means extra money for tips (not saying it isn’t deserved!) for each drink you purchase, so plan accordingly. They don’t have basic health related items after the Universal store on site closes at 10pm, so if you get a migraine (or need feminine products, any sort of item you may have run out of) and are out of Tylenol or whatever, you have to walk/drive to Walgreens in severe headache pain. The hallways are loud! All day and night people run in them and it reverberates into the rooms and can wake you up.

I would recommend the hotel overall for the price for the budget vacationers but if you want a bit more relaxed, clean, convenient and fun you may need to save a bit more to stay at a premiere hotel on site.

After a year of isolation which included a MN winter, planned a one week stay at Endless Summer Dockside for a Universal Studios vacation with my wife and 8 year old.

After check in, they offer contactless interactions with their staff via text which was very convenient. Could ask general questions and make housekeeping requests which were promptly answered.

The rooms are quaint and offer the necessities for sleeping and getting cleaned up. Other than that there is a small refrigerator and a safe in the room to store valuables.

Pier 8, on-site food, offers good sized portions which align well with the reasonable prices. The food options do not change day to day though.

Shuttles to and from the parks are set up very well. Very little wait, regardless of the time of day to go to/from the parks. Huge perk after completing an exhausting full day at a park and the last thing you want to do is stand in yet another line to get back to the hotel.

Overall, a great experience for our family at great value. Would definitely stay here again!

This resort was exactly what I was looking for. Family friendly and there were several touches that just showed the designers thought about what families need. There was a clothes line that could be pulled out over the tub to dry wet bathing suits. Their were low hooks placed in both bedrooms to hang up towels and materials but that were easily accessible to the kids. The sink had bright lighting and was outside the toilet and tub so that you could put on makeup while someone used the toilet. The kitchen area had a bench seat and table that looked like a picnic table but were plastic resin so comfortable and no worries about splinters. Their was also a small sink in the kitchen area and a drawer with utensil packs which worked out perfectly if you forgot to bring from the cafeteria. The pool and cafeteria were not posh but efficient and we had lunch and an afternoon swim most days before going back to the parks. It was energy efficient using a room card to keep the lights on or as you left turn all of the lights off. And their was room under the foot of all the beds to store luggage easily.
