Hotel's Favourite
Having stayed at a number of Disney Resorts, I would say this is my least favorite as an adult. For parents with little kids, however, the big advantage to this hotel is its walking access to the Magic Kingdom. Being on the monorail is also a plus. We were in the Bay Lake Tower. Our room was very small, and then we realized we were in a lock off bedroom for the suite next to us, which was very roomy. The bathroom sink area is very tight. I found the rooms to have very poor lighting. It is very helpful, however, to have a small kitchen. The views are nice. There are no restaurants in this tower, but it’s just a short walk to the main hotel. As Covid protocols are still in place, the service of the rooms is limited. No change of sheets unless you ask. Towels every other day. The rooftop observatory is closed for some reason (maybe COVID?) My granddaughters really enjoyed the community room with toys, drawing and videos. The hotel has a beach which is fun for kids. The pool has slides and a splash pad. Personally, I found the loud music at the pool very annoying. Tough to relax with rock music blaring. Our families biggest complaint with this hotel is the noise at night. For some reason, they do a show on the lake at 10pm. The music is super annoying and ridiculously loud. Couldn’t they do the show earlier? The music could definitely be less loud. People with young kids go to bed early, and the music makes it tough to sleep. This hotel generally has lots of noise between music, fireworks, boat horns. I don’t remember other resorts being so noisy. To end on a positive note, everyone in the hotel was incredibly nice and helpful. I just think there are better options if you have older kids, or are just coming as adults ( like the Yacht Club).

I have been going to Disney since 1983. I had my wedding there and I’m an annual passholder. Never in my life was I more disappointed than our last trip. The service is not what it used to be at all. Managers don’t care, rooms are not as clean as they used to be and trying to contact someone took forever. Anytime we needed something we could never find a manager or housekeeping. Trash was spilled all over our floor and not picked up and when someone did get back to us to ask what happened he didn’t think they was a big deal. Cleanliness is not a big deal?! My friend owns DVC and was trying to talk me into purchasing it and after this trip, no way. I’m sick of hearing “it’s because of COVID”. Disney is hiring just about anyone these days and can’t believe half the managers have attitudes when guests have general inquiries or complaints. The trash around the parks and at hotels were always filled to the top with crap hanging out. Also, trash was in the stairwell for the course of our vacation and never picked up. Even after we told them there was trash no one cleaned it up. So very disappointed with this hotel and Disney for not reaching out and making things better. For the price you pay you’re better off going somewhere off property now.

We stayed at the BLT for 5 nights in November of 2021. We were lucky that the Christmas Decorations had already started going up. I'm not going to talk about DIsneyworld as this review is about Bay Lake Tower only. The condo/suite was nothing short of amazingly clean. The unit looked brand new, like it was built and we were the first guests to stay there. The building was VERY quiet. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept on (and we had a choice of several pillows. The kitchen and the baths (2 of them) were perfect for a unit this size. There was a nice washer and dryer. It did take two times through the dryer but that is better than being too hot and shrinking things. The decor was very modern for my taste, but that was great because it was different than my home. The views from the balcony allowed views over Bay LAke and also into Disney's Magic Kingdom. Ginnie at the front desk gets extra credits even above all the other amazing people who work at this fine resort. She was so very nice, remembering my name from the very first time I walked into the lobby. She is an extra special human being!!! I enjoyed walking to the Magic Kingdom, and also taking the monorail which runs throught he Contemorary Hotel Tower which is connected to the Bay Lake Tower. The entire time I was there I felt like I was staying in a first class accomodation. Was there anything not perfect? I was told by my 27 year old daughter that the sofa bed was not comfortable. WIth that said, I have never slept on a sofa bed that comfortable. It comes with the bedding type. To be fair I did have to mention it. I also feel like the breakfast prices are ridiculous. Staying at an amazing property makes me think they should try to give you a break on food prices. I know I'm worng when I say it, but it is a nice thought. In conclusion, BLT allowed for a very special vacation where you are engulfed in Disney 24/7 the entire time you are there. First class all the way! We wanted to stay at the Floridean but there were no openings the week we were there. Bay Lake Tower was a beautiful second choice.

This place is horrific, checked in and checked out 10 minutes later and went to the Riviera. -Was trying to try a true Disney hotel for the first time and what a fail this one was. The lobby feels like a cross between a halfway house and a psych asylum hospital. The room was terrible, sagging full size bed. Old and gross room. There’s no value for the money at this place and if you are picky or have high standards/ save your money and stay elsewhere.

To preface, I am a DVC owner and have a contract at Bay Lake, and this stay solidified my decision to sell that contract. First, the location is obviously very convenient for Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, now that the monorail is running. We had a very good experience with the staff we interacted with and appreciate the work they are doing while the Disney Company understaffs and puts them in difficult positions. Now the bad. We stayed in a studio with a lake view for 7 nights. It was the worst week of sleep I have had in years, anywhere. The bed is tiny and the mattress was years beyond needing to be changed. Truly I cannot express how badly this affected the stay. This is supposedly deluxe room. Nowhere, other than Disney would this quality be accepted as deluxe. The TV was about a decade old, received maybe five channels in Standard definition, and was small. This is the largest media company in the world and you don’t showcase you product on a quality TV in room? The final thing for me, as an owner is Top of the World Lounge being closed. DVC members pay dues for these amenities, above and beyond the flat costs to buy points. There is no excuse for that to be closed. Hire people, and pay them. If you can pay executives exorbitantly, then you can afford to pay working people enough for them to want to work for you.
