This is an older hotel, but the room was very clean, everything was functional, and it had a balcony with a lovely view of the beach. Due to storm damage, you have to walk 50 yards down to enter the beach but that is not a big deal and does not impact your access to the beach at all. I did not park a vehicle ($20/day is incredibly steep in my book) . A grocery store is a short 5-6 minute walk as are an array of restaurants. Great 'home base' for a stay at the beach! Tip: If you want good coffee, you may want to bring your own pot, and only negative I can offer is the air-conditioning unit was very noisy on the balcony when it kicked in, drowning out the sound of the waves.

We stayed here for one evening before going to the Daytona 300. The hotel is right on the beach with wonderful views of the ocean but unfortunately resides on the stretch of sand that allows cars to drive on. We stayed in a Ocean Front King Bed Suite. The room had a long narrow balcony with door access from the bedroom & separate living room. The rooms were oddly shaped as the building used to be condos. The hotel has been thoughtfully renovated inside but still has the structural feel of a 1980’s design. On entering our room there was a narrow entry with a closet & bathroom. The room then opened up into a large space with a king bed, table & chairs, kitchenette & great views of the ocean. The kitchen had a medium size fridge, microwave, coffee maker & dishes. The bed was very comfortable & the room was quiet & clean. However some of the furnishings could use a refresh. The living room adjacent to the bedroom was oddly designed. The room was sunken so you stepped down into it which did not allow views of the ocean while sitting. There was a small sofa, chair & T.V. but no door to close off from the bedroom. We did not spend time enjoying the amenities but noticed a restaurant on the second floor & a pool. Free parking & wifi were included. There were also a few restaurants in walking distance from the hotel. I honestly feel the price point did not match the accommodations but I guess we were paying for the ocean views.

This hotel is trying very hard to keep everyone safe during the virus. All of the rooms have an ocean view and our room was very large and adequate for a one night stay. The room had a refrigerator, some dishes, a sink, coffee pot and microwave if you want to eat in the room. The hotel is close enough to walk to the restaurants and shops and there is a restaurant onsite for breakfast and lunch. Breakfast was not included in our room rate. The staff is practicing social distancing and disinfecting surfaces. The only complaint I have about our room was the carpet needed to be swept better. It appeared the area around the table and chairs had not been swept recently.

Clean, large suites that are ocean view with balconies are a great way to relax and be at the beach with out sand in your shoes! The room layout is less modern than today's cookie cutter rooms, more like a studio apartment. Staff is friendly and caring, this was our second time here, very consistent in their care and cleanliness. We stayed in 20 motels in Florida over the past 3 weeks, this motel took covid seriously, even took our temperature, staff and all guests wear masks, if you need a clean safe place to stay this is it!

We have been coming here as loyal guests & always choose to stay here at The Best Western. Have done about 7 times over the 30 years when we can get to florida & NSB We messaged ahead asking for a high floor & as near to the ocen . Our first room 510 was going to be great we thought, untill we opened the door. We have ALWAYS used the sofa bed in the 2 bedroom unit . As 4 grown adults we need to ! The sofa bed had seen better days & when we pulled it out the mattress wouldn't have supported a child. The maintenance guy tried to help by putting some plastic ties on. A rollaway was then provided ( the manager said he wouldn't charge us the S10 ! I think not after the money we've saved this place with no present housekeeping !!) Then when we saw the stained carpet by one of the beds we was close to checking out. After a family meeting & a chat with a very helpful lady at the desk, we could change rooms in the morning . So we changed the following afternoon & got a room on the 8th floor. The sofa bed was better & we all agreed unlike the previous one, we would actually sit on it . I understand the sofa beds are being phased out so any one else who relys on this be aware not all rooms have them. I understand this hotel has been taken over by a new company & I really hope they bring it back up to the previous standards as they so have dropped. Now the pool; pool guy came every morning on the 5 days we stayed to clean the pool. Unfortunately there was no cleaning & tidying around it . Rubbish layed there for 3 days ( yea I don't get it either, there's a dustbin available for guests to use, put your empty cans & water bottles in there! ) Out of 10 lay out sunbeds 3 were broken . No one came to re arrange or tidy after the day before. Once we saw the area being hosed down & then the rubbish was removed ( that was after 3 days) People from the beach continue to use the showers & the pool ( facilities we have paid for) We come here for the relaxing part of our holiday. We love to hear the sound of the sea , but unfortunately for us some love to have their music round the pool, so we have little choice than to listen to it or move to the beach. A tad selfish of some as their choice may not be to others !! Plenty of ear pods available these days !!! There were no pool towels on this visit but we were given bathroom to use . No toilet now on the ground floor ( they've made that for staff only) so it's a trip up to the 2nd floor if you need to . I really hate to come over as a really moaney person , but I've left feeling sad for this stay but excited to think of the changes that may be made in the future of this place. We've spent so much time here over the years & I leave with mixed emotions. The beach is gorgeous & we all have many Happy memories spent here.

Located on the beach, this Best Western is well situated and convenient to grocery stores, restaurants, and beach enjoyment. We had a two bedroom suite that was clean, spacious, well laid-out, and comfortable. It had an angled view of the beach and a reasonably sized balcony. A full sized refrigerator and a microwave plus a sink and a few dishes and some silverware were available in a limited kitchenette that was along one wall of the living room. Staff was friendly and welcoming. My only disappointment was that there was no complimentary breakfast. I did, however, check out the restaurant on-site that had hours of 7-3 and the prices were reasonable and the beach view very nice. Multiple other restaurants are nearby. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, but beachfront pricing can be a consideration for someone on a tight budget.

About two months ago, I booked a surprise beach weekend for my wife and I at this hotel for our anniversary. It was the same one which, three years ago, our entire wedding party and guests stayed when we got married. We never had any problems during that stay, so I thought I would take my wife there again. Two weeks before we were due to stay, I noticed on their website a banner asking people to "Pardon our dust". I called and found out that they were doing renovations and during our stay, the pool and deck would be closed. I asked the front desk about changing the dates and was told they did not have the authority to do that, that I could call tomorrow to speak to the manager, Dana. From there, it was just excuse after excuse of why she was unavailable to talk to me. They told us they don’t issue any refunds, customer service does. I called customer service, they told us the hotel has the billing info and must issue the refund. I tried to call the manager multiple times over the span of three days, and finally was told she was refusing to speak with me. There was no reason why she should refuse my call. I have never heard of a manager refusing to talk to a customer, even if just to offer an apology for the inconvenience. I understand some things are beyond their control such as the timing of renovations, but there was no offer of a discount, a room upgrade, to move our weekend, or even a meal. It was basically sorry about your luck. They did say to call customer service one more time about a refund, so I called and had a very helpful lady who told me again it was not their responsibility to issue the refund, it was the hotels. She even called them for us to make sure they knew it was up to them and the manager talked to her and said she refused to speak to me or make any changes. I think that was the worst part of my experience was finding out the manager lied to me and forced me to make all sorts of phone calls to customer service until she finally refused the refund. I am disgusted with the lack of professionalism at this hotel, and the managers use of the front desk to screen her calls and make excuses for why she couldn’t come to the phone. I was persistent in my calls, but I was never rude or yelled at anyone. I just wanted to surprise my wife and this hotel ruined the experience for me. And the final slap to the face, I was initially told they would not charge my credit card until check in. Well they charged it the same day I told them I would not be coming. I will never stay here, and at this point have decided to risk the loss of my money then step inside such a poorly managed hotel.

I took a 5 day trip to get some sunshine with my daughter and her two toddlers. The Best Western in New Smyrna Beach provided an excellent experience for us. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is directly on the beach and has a pool too so lots of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. The rooms are suites with separate bedroom and kitchenette area. They also feature an ocean facing balcony with great views of the Atlantic. The kitchen area had a decent size refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and single cup coffee pot. They had enough basic dishes and silverware for four. This enabled us to pick up some groceries and have some breakfasts and lunches in the room. The bedroom had a door so we were able to give the kids naps and enjoy the balcony and rest of the room without fear of waking them. The beds were very comfortable. The couch and chairs in the room could use an upgrade. They were older and not very comfortable. The general area of the hotel was good with restaurants and shopping close by. It’s a short drive to Flagler Avenue and that is a fun area for shopping and dining. We spent a couple mornings at the Canaveral National Seashore. What a gem! There are nice playgrounds within a short drive. I would recommend this hotel and area for those wanting a reasonably priced vacation. We had a wonderful time.

The exterior was clean as was the reception area. Our 2 bedroom suite was clean and we were allotted several towels as room cleanings were only performed during checkout, the staff was very nice to ask if you needed anything replenished. There were only a few features that need attention in regards to our room, the carpeting needs to be removed and hopefully will help with the musty odor that was quite prevalent , and our mattress had a huge saggy area and was not very comfortable. I think and update of guest rooms is needed. Overall it was a nice stay due to location and friendliness of staff.

Check in was very thorough - very Covid conscious - even took our temperature before we could check in. Excellent room, very quiet, 6th floor, overlooking the beach and ocean. They have a restaurant on site for breakfast - better than a grab and go bag that you get at most places. Would stay here again!

NSB is a smaller and i believe a safe area then Daytona. Never been there for spring break but, I would feel better about NSB then almost anywhere on the coast.

There is work going on the outside of building, but it is only during the day so it did not bother me while I was there in June. I would suggest you give the hotel a call on there direct line and they can tell you what is going on. The front desk staff are very friendly and will be glad to assist you in any way.
