Detailed Reviews
This was our first trip to New Smyrna Beach we booked a studio sleeps 4 private 2 that gives you a great view of the beach. The room was a good size for a studio and had a balcony overlooking the pool deck. The pool is large and there are plenty of lounges for use. This is the only resort I have visited that had 2 hot tubs and one that was for adults only. We found the beach here very nice the currents were not strong and there is a sand bar that helps break the waves during high tides and a coral reef out further that helps during low tides. There are publix and win dixe supermarkets close by as well as walgreens and plenty of places to get good sea food I would recommend visiting Black beards good food and great value.

Our family had a wonderful time at Islander Beach Resort! We had two units, the 1 bedroom and a studio. Excellent customer service, the resort was right on the beach, our balcony was perfect for watching the sunrise. There were resort beach chairs for our use, the waves were amazing, shower/spray down area was well-placed, and the kids & teens enjoyed the large pool & kiddie playground. It was like having our own private beach. We look forward to coming back!

This resort is on the older side, but, with age comes wisdom. They definitely know how to treat guests well. Everything you needed for an amazing vacation was at your fingertips. The common areas and units were impeccably clean. The pool area was outside the main lobby. We'd grab a towel and lounge by the pool while gazing out to the ocean through the plexiglass wall. Just a few more steps and we were out on the powder sand beach where Adirondack chairs were available to use. On our way back into the resort they offer an outdoor shower and hose to rinse off before coming back in. The unit itself was quaint. Comfortable queen sized bed and a sofa bed were side by side, with a sliding double door for privacy. The kitchen was perfect for cooking our meals. We were thrilled to have a balcony that looked out to the ocean. There was entertainment, our favorite being the steel drum player. There was a very friendly employee who organized activities and pool games. Location and amenities were fabulous!

Photos from the outside suggest a balcony for each room, but that is a FASADE!
The room reminded me of a cruise ship interior unit. Had a Condensed Very slim stove and dishwasher, with 2-3 decades old decor.
Bathroom door almost hits the toilet; you have to turn sideways to enter, step aside, then close the door to use the toilet. Light in the toilet & shower room always have the noisy fan running. Although the shower door is the newer “barn door” slider style, it is out of place with the rest of the geriatric decor.
Room has three large Palm Trees directly in front of the window, which blocks the view of the ocean. Other hotels place trees away from the windows.
It seems the area where a balcony might have been was converted into a space that a Full size bed fits. Large mirror as a headboard is creepy and unsettling. Window has a draft and whistles when windy.
Plantation shudder blinds act as a room divider from bed to table. TV is mounted on the wall above the eating table, which is pushed against the wall. When the table is pulled out, the room is very cramped.
Went downstairs, and upon return the room entrance door was ajar. Turns out that door does Not securely close on its own; you must pull to close completely every time you depart from room.
The good thing about this motel stay is you get to keep any remaining tissue, napkins, and paper towels due to COVID-19 rules. Poolside restroom was nice.
No we do NOT recommend it for folks under retirement age, over 5’9”. Yes we recommend it for thin, petite, elderly folks not interested in an unobstructed beach view from the room.
Since a refund and a room change were denied, we paid to live at a different condo. We used Islander Beach Resort as a daytime “Study Hall” for telework.

This is an older property with direct beach access and most rooms have ocean view. The room we were assigned was not one. Our room's furnishings were old and in marginal condition. Those facts were not enough to inspire us to move out. Evening one I found old dust and debris behind a lamp on an end table. I took a photo. In the morning I found old dust and cobwebs on both sides of the armoire that holds the television. I took photos. I showed the photos to the housekeeping supervisor who promised action. When we arrived back to our room that afternoon, the dust and cobwebs had been removed from the armoire, but the much more readily found dirt on the nightstand was untouched. When we opened the bed that evening, we found someone else's hair in it. When we asked to have the bedding changed, we were eventually told it would not be done, but we could get the linens and change it ourselves. We found a different property and left. We will never return and strongly suggest you consider booking elsewhere.

It was sufficient. As mentioned , it was disappointing that the bed was too soft. There was no support fort the spine. One of the long pillow was too hard to sleep on. The smaller regular size pillows were in a bag and an extra blanket was in bag as it didn't seem to be part of bed. There was no complimentary shampoo and conditioner. It would have been nice to have a pkg of microwave popcorn with condiments although there were 2 packs of coffee - enough for 8 days. Thermostat kept going back to previous degree even when you change it . We asked for an upgrade to one bedroom a few days before we arrived and was told we'd have to wait till we get there. But was told that none available even though we stayed 8 days. Could have said they'll consider it if it opens up. Thought maybe because we had a suite that we were just getting what a suite accommodation gets.

Thank you for your comments. We are in the process of replacing all the mattresses at the resort. Order fulfillment has been slow and we apologize if your were uncomfortable. We always have a replacement mattress on hand for guests who find theirs is to hard or to soft and we will replace it if requested.

We stayed at the Islander Beach Resort right after Christmas. We found the studio we stayed in to be well appointed with a fabulous view of the Atlantic Ocean (which you are steps from). The resort was also very quiet and relaxing.
Close to good restaurants, a sleepy little town, New Smyrna Beach and Merritt Island Refuge which we enjoyed. We would definitely recommend a stay here.

Have been to many time shares since my over 40 years of ownership. Can't think of any of them that allow cigarette smoking inside their units any longer..for years now. But this one does. Even hotels have banned smoking from their rooms. Many time shares even ban smoking anywhere on the premises, both inside and out, but this one allows it everywhere. No matter how they so called "clean" the units...you can't get that smoke smell out. If you are a smoker..this is your place. Everyone else, especially ones conscious about their lung health...suggest you stay away. Ended up going to a different resort.

Lovely resort, right on the beach. The pool is nicely heated with free pool exercise classes. There are many other inexpensive activities including Bingo, ice cream sundaes, hamburgers and hot dogs, games for kids. It is a relaxed family atmosphere.

We enjoyed the resort and loved walking the beach. We had a 2 bedroom unit on the end but unfortunately did not have a balcony. The unit was large and well stocked but the furnishings were old and dated. We enjoyed the lunch BBQ and make your own Ice Cream Sundae offered a few days a week. The elevators are old and very slow. C's Waffles located a mile or so down the street has the best breakfast/lunch in town.

Hello,
yes they have a spa Messages and Hair nice place. enjoy
We rented a one bedroom unit. The Islander has a variety of activities around the pool deck that are very reasonably priced. The pool was quite nice. Access to the beach was very convenient.
