New Smyrna Beach is located just south of better known Daytona Beach, Florida and is the ultimate beach lover’s destination. Though it is small, New Smyrna Beach boasts 13 miles of white sand beaches, consistently voted some of Florida’s best. The home of swimming, surfing, fishing, and water sports, these gorgeous beaches aren’t the only thing to enjoy here. As the second oldest city in Florida, it is packed with history and charm. Flager Avenue and Canal Street offer unique shops and restaurants, and the Canaveral National Seashore is just a short drive south. |break|Located directly on the beaches that this area is known for, the Coconut Palms Beach Resort will make you feel right at home. We doubt you’ll want to spend much time inside, but these condo rentals feature full kitchens, laundry facilities, and private bedrooms with room for your entire family. Outside your door, you’ll find three outdoor swimming pools, a picnic area, fitness facilities, children’s playground, snack ba

If you are looking for a place on the beach, with convenient location to area attractions, walking distance to Flagler district and the old Florida feel, then this is your place. 2 pools, nice swings & clam shell cabanas facing the wide beach. Due to Covid-19 some of the facilities like the gym & Tiki bar were closed. Staff wore masks & provided numerous hand sanitizing stations. The rooms are in need to update but it added to the charm. Love the ocean view from the balcony.

I agree with other reviewers that this hotel is not a "resort" but we were happy with our stay as we weren't expecting a resort experience. The hotel is directly on the beach and has 2 swimming pools set right off the beach. They also have swings and adirondack chairs on the beach that we used multiple times. The main New Smyrna Beach restaurant/bar scene is a short walk (either via road or beach).
Our room was a 1 bedroom efficiency on the first floor. We didn't have any issues with how it was decorated or the condition of the furniture. However, our room was close to the laundry room which increase the noise level somewhat during the day.
We would stay at this hotel again.

We very much enjoyed our stay here in a one bedroom suite. You can’t beat the location: oceanfront, three blocks from Flagler, quiet neighborhood. The room was surface-clean and tidy when we arrived. The small kitchen had everything we needed: coffee maker, toaster, cooking & eating utensils. The staff was friendly & helpful. And we got a great deal for our three night stay.
Two points disallow a higher rating. First, our room needed a deep clean. From the mildew imbedded in the showers knob, the dirty baseboards throughout and dirt in the corners of the floor in all the rooms, it is clear the details are not on a checklist.
Secondly our room needs an overall refresh, from the bedroom closet door that wouldn’t stay closed, glass missing from all sitting area table tops to chipped & scratched paint & furniture throughout, the wear and tear was evident.
That said, we would stay there again and have already recommended it to others. The location and value make this an attractive property.

We have stayed at Coconut Palms twice before and returned again due to the superior location directly on the ocean and a short walk to Flager Ave filled with shops, restaurants and bars. We knew that the resort was tired and need of repairs but never dreamed what a nightmare we would run into this time. It was so terrible we only stayed one night on a timeshare exchange to stay at another resort in the area and spent approximately $1400 that we did not plan on spending. Let me elaborate a little. On first sight the room's furniture was old tired and delapitated. Upon walking out the the balcony, there were no chairs to sit on. The desk clerk told us they had a bad wind storm and the chairs were damaged and broken. Folks, these were $6 plastic chairs and if they were damaged they could have been replaced immediately and been on the balcony ready for the next occupants. The next ridiculous thing was the toilet. It kept running and running continuously. Upon notifying the same desk clerk, he said he would be up to check on it which he did. His answer to the problem was to open and close the water to the toilet every time we used it. That was not the answer we were looking for. At age 77 it is not easy for MS to get down on all 4s and turn the water for the toilet off and on as needed.
After a very long travel day we stayed in the room overnight. The other glaring deficiency was the water at the sink in the bathroom was backwards. That is, the cold Fawcett is always on the right. No here it was on the left and I burned my hand. I do not know how or why it was this way but a warning sign would have been helpful.First thing in the morning I went to the front desk to try to get another room for our stay and was told that there were no other rooms available as it was bike week(bike week was actually a week later). Thus we departed finding another local resort.
Went I check into a hotel I expect the room to be ready for occupancy. I do not expect to check in and find problems that should have been fixed.
Thus it is my final stay at Coconut Palms II.

Dear Sir, We are deeply saddened that your experience with our facility was poorly handled. We most certainly should have brought patio chairs to your unit and sent maintenance to take a look at the faucet in the unit the next morning. If you are able to provide further information to allow us to look into your reservation, it would greatly aid in our follow up with our team. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to leave us your feedback.

+1
I have been going to this facility for 23 years. Unfortunately, the new reservation system by Festiva only lets you find out your room upon arrival. As an owner of one week, I am greatly disappointed by this, and also in the rooms we have been given. IF however, you are a renter, you seem to get better views, nicer rooms.
Our bedroom had no view, other than the wooden, and dirty, awning. The dishwasher was missing the silverware rack, reported, but never replaced. We found a tin of smoking tobacco in the night stand. These two alone made us concerned re the thoroughness, or lack there, of housekeeping. The bedroom had much work done in the past on one wall, and the repairs were very visible through the repainting. The sliding glass door had a bent bottom track, so was difficult to open. The living room had paint peeling, and a ceiling/wall patch which certainly stood out. The kitchen table and chairs are old, beat up, needing replacing.
The kitchen is stocked, so you have plates, pots and pans, flat top stove, microwave, and full sized refrigerator.
The front desk was excellent, very friendly, helpful, and caring.
The facility has two pools, which do receive lots of TLC, and are kept quite clean.
The beach is just past the pools.
The location can't be beat.
If you are an owner, you might do better to exchange your week for a better facility.
I you are a renter, you will probably be happy. I was permitted, by the kindness of other, to visit two other rooms which were rented out that week. Both were far nicer, had much better views, than what we were stuck with.

We stayed here because it’s a Wyndham property, so we assumed it would be nice and clean and not a typical “hotel.” Well, we were wrong. The room pictured and described showed a queen bed and a sleeper soft, plus a full kitchen. So, it would be perfect for my family of 4. The room we received had one bed, no couch and it had a mini fridge and a coffee maker. They said they were sold out and told us we could go to Wal Mart and buy an air mattress. On top of that, there was fecal matter on the floor next to the toilet and dried urine on the toilet seat. How does the cleaning crew miss that? Plus, you can see in the photo, they didn’t bother to fix the TP holder that can jab you in the leg, they just left it like that. I’d never stay there again, that’s just gross. But if you choose to, make sure you find out exactly what kind of room you have and you may want to bring your own cleaning supplies.

First and Foremost I am very sorry to hear of your bad experience with us at CP2. The housekeeping will be notified of this. The room you described is a studio that sleeps only two people. The pictures on the site you booked through are just general pictures of our rooms. Please call the front desk so we can make an unhappy experience a happy one for a later time.

Furniture/fabric needs cleaning! Not sanitary. Room molding, tiles, windows/door frames need fixing. Better accommodations can be found right next door or up and down the coastline. Front desk staff is nice. For the price you can find much better resort style accommodations.

Hello MelanieTravel10, We are saddened to learn; we failed to meet your expectations. We would like to know more about which accommodations you were in so we can follow up and make sure we are doing proper cleaning. Please contact us if you have the time. We are a bit older and working on updates however we agree, uncleanliness is not acceptable. Yes, they call us shark bite capital, however bites are actually very rare and generally minor. We recommend always swimming when water conditions are safe and staying near the lifeguard towers. Thank you for your feedback.

We have been coming here year after year. We absolutely love Coconut Palms Beach Resort 2. The staff is super nice and they treat us like we are family. The manager Karen Lawson does everything that she can in order to meet the needs of Timeshare Owners and guests. Yes this a timeshare condo building with nightly rentals as well, but as an owner I look forward to returning every year. So excited about the updates that are going on which will make the place even more amazing. Always enjoy talking to the one of the housekeepers Debbie who always remembers us and asks how we are doing.

Well, we decided to stay here again, hoping that the renovations had taken place and for a better experience. Huge disappointment, a much worse experience than before. We were told days before we arrived that we had a room with a patio looking at the beach; the photos clearly show that wasn't what we got. Old, broken down furniture, a view of the parking lot at the front door and a view of another unit at the back door...ceiling fan blades drooping, loud A/C units; and blocking off nearly all the parking spots for the upcoming renovations. No welcome basket, no area information, poor WIFI; one bright spot was that the oven was replaced in a timely manner. It's a great town to visit and stay in, but the quality of this "resort" has dropped a great deal. I've read other recent reviews here, and find myself wishing for those positive experiences, but it's been a downward trend from our first visit.

I arrived a stressed out traveler and the guy at the front desk would just not have it. He redirected me to cheery within moments (thank you) and we went on up to our room. The facility is older looking in the outdoor hallways and we didn't take the elevator unless we had to. Our unit was newly remodeled with fresh furnishings...not to mention, the view. Sliding doors off the master and living room offer a wall of window and porch seating. Walkable location, not right on top of everything, but not far either. Uncrowded beach and we didn't have to share the pool often. Prepare for no washer and dryer in the room, or ask first. Coin laundry on site. We loved it and hope to return in the future.
