Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Just got back from a small getaway for a few days to celebrate a birthday and what a nice stay we had. The room is spacious, spotless and really well appointed. We stayed in Bob's Seascape which included a mini living area, a kitchen with eating area, separate bedroom and bathroom with a huge shower. The room was quiet, the AC worked perfect and the bed was so comfortable.

The inn is located upstairs above the shops along Donnely street and you can't beat the location at all. The room is silent we never heard any noise from below. Check in and checkout was a breeze, the system they have just works, key in a lock box when you get their, leave the key in the room when your done. What's nice though is when we got in you could easily locate someone if needed, but they have thought of everything, including snacks and water so we didn't need anything extra :).

All and all a great surprise, worth every penny and we will definitely be back. Thanks!

We stayed in Bob's Suite over the weekend and very much enjoyed both the charm of the historic nature of the building and town and the modern convenient upgrades to the suite. Everything was brilliantly clean with many points of attention to detail like the hygienically wrapped remote controls, USB charging ports in the sockets, fridge, microwave, and selection of coffee pods for the coffee machine. The bed was comfy, and their were plenty of pillows but if you like a thinner pillow you might want to bring your own as these were quite thick. We'll be back again as Simpsons is in a great location and a very well run establishment.

Parking and unloading is not obvious if you've never been there, but there is plenty if you know where to look. There is a back gate on Dora Drawdy Way where you can coordinate dropping off and pickup up luggage if you aren't lucky enough to get street parking on Donnelly or in the parking lot at the corner of Alexander and 4th. We ended up parking in the city lot at 428 E 5th Ave which is a pleasant stroll without luggage but kind of far with it.

We discovered this gem about 8 years ago after we read about Mt. Dora in the book 1000 Places to See Before You Die. Not having been there since COVID, we decided to book a getaway and stayed fort 3 nights at Simpson's. It was better than evert! We were greeted personally by the owner, Carol, and the manager, Tonya, who instantly made us feel welcome. Tonya was extremely helpful with suggestions of restaurants and made us a reservation at Gianni's. Don't miss it if you are here! The rooms are upstairs in the heart of town, so there was little need for our car. Included in our stay was breakfast at Cody's on 4th , a nice stroll around the corner. Our room was actually a cozy suite with a living/dining area and a separate bedroom with bath. The kitchenette came in handy as there is a refrigerator and microwave and we loved having our morning coffee in a separate room that we could spread out in. The king size bed was comfy and the tub/shower combo bath was clean with plenty of hot water and fluffy towels. The TV is in the bedroom and a suggestion might be to put a small TV in the living/dining area which would be nice when when having morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. All in all, we love Simpson's an will be back.

Once you arrive there's no need for a car, plenty of parking available in the public lot in the rear. Arrive early for ample parking. Breakfast provided at a very popular nearby restaurant. Quaint rooms provide everything necessary, very clean and comfortable. Had a great experience, planning to stay again!

We stayed in Edna’s Suite for the art festival on February 3-4. The location was perfect in the middle of downtown and the suite was wonderful. Separate living room with loveseat, refrigerator, and small table overlooking downtown. The room was spotless and the keyless entry system was very convenient. Tonya called us the day before to arrange parking details as the streets were blocked off for the festival. She also provided dining and transportation recommendations. Small touches included bottled water in the refrigerator upon arrival, a hand written welcome note, and a small snack basket with goodies. Breakfast was a short walk and was delicious. We will be back.

For Valentine's day, my partner and I booked Edna's Suite.
We were honestly blown away. Parking is already very accessible in the town, but knowing there were many options put us at ease. The staff was wonderful, very amiable and involved (thank you Tonya!) The room itself was very cozy, though I felt the bathroom was a little small.
The best part for us was the ease of street access. Since we were out on the town for most of our 3 day stay, we were delighted that the building landed us right in the middle of the main street.

my sister in law and myself stayed at this beautiful bnb over the weekend. Mount Dora was having their annual Craft Festival. The room was so clean, the bed was the best I have ever slept in on my travels. The towels were thick and fluffy. The mini kitchen was supplied with water in the refrigerator and small snack items in a basket on top of the microwave. I would definitely go back to stay at this wonderful place.

Had a fantastic 3 night weekend stay. Very hospitable host, comfortable bed, nice sitting area adjoining the bedroom. There were welcoming snacks and k cups of coffee as well as some water bottles in the refrigerator. It was quiet at night even though we were in downtown Mt Dora. Would definitely come here again if we are in the area!

This bed and Breakfast is amazing. This would be our second time staying here in 4 months (First in Jim's Room then David's Room) . Mount Dora itself is quaint and amazing and this B&B makes it all that much better. We left a review last time explaining that there was an issue with Light coming into the room from the hallway. Well, when we returned it had been addressed. This is quality management that reads and takes action on reviews. Additionally, the cleanliness is amazing as we looked for dirt, grime or even a hair and could not find anything. I will and already have recommended to not only my friends but as we walked around town talking to other visitors - we told them how awesome Simpson's B&B is. If there is no availability at the Simpson's B&B we will move our trip dates to ensure we can stay there.

This was our first time in Mt.Dora and so glad we stayed here. It’s a very charming hotel right in the downtown, so your in the heart of all the shops, restaurants and activities. The rooms were very clean, and the the beds were so comfortable! The staff was very friendly. There was 3 adults and we all got a free breakfast at Cody’s restaurant within a very short walking distance of the hotel. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Mt. Dora.
