My husband myself and our three children ages 17, 15 and 12 decided to stay here on our way to Walt Disney World. Regular hotels are nice, but The Daffodale House offers a true B&B experience unlike any other. When we travel, we like to surprise our children with new & fun experiences that are outside of the norm. Driving up to a Haunted 100+ year old Victorian Home and announcing to the kids that this is where we were going to all spend the night definitely shocked all three of our kiddos. It was so much fun!
Kathy, the lady of the house, is very responsive online, and she was extremely accommodating and easy to work with in preparing for our stay. We made reservations in advance for Kathy to cook dinner the evening of our arrival and for her husband, Scott, to give us a ghost tour afterwards. I highly recommend travelers do both.
Kathy is a marvelous cook and served us a delicious dinner complete with a lovely desert and her famous peach sweet tea. My children are the pickiest of eaters and do have food allergy. Kathy was graciously accommodating and her food was so delicious! (My husband had the mahi-mahi, daughter ordered the ribeye, youngest son had the chicken and myself and my oldest son ordered the ravioli.) Everyone in the family cleaned their plate--a true rare event indeed!
Scott is a natural and genuine entertainer with his fabulous stories about the artifacts throughout the property. The entire family enjoyed our conversations with him. My youngest child, in particular, loved hanging out with Mr. Scott as the two walked around the home taking photos and videos "hunting" to try to catch some of the "long term residents" on camera.
As a Realtor, I enter a lot of homes. I don't like to see dust anywhere and if I am going to stay the night somewhere, cleanliness is a top priority. The Daffodale was absolutely spotless, 5 stars all the way. The sheets were clean and soft and the beds comfortable. The set up made it easy for us to adjust the temperature of the room to our liking and the bathroom with oversized shower was more than sufficient. Our entire family had a good night's sleep.
The grounds in general are unique with beautiful flowers and a peaceful bamboo forest that seems to quietly sing as the wind blows through the leaves.
Kathy and Scott treat their guests like family. I hope our children have as much fun at Disney as they did at The Daffodale House. We will definitely be back.

I am from Tallahassee, FL and had no idea something so charming was so close. My friend took me here for the dinner and a show and it was fantastic. Cathy and Scott are so warm, welcoming, and tons of fun! Cathy made the dinner and there wasn't a single thing we didn't love. The fresh, homemade rosemary bread was my favorite. No wait, the homemade sweet peach tea. No, the coffee. The coffee was so good I had to buy some!
Really, all of the food was exceptional and the best part, is tat she has a cookbook, so you can make everything she made.
The house is absolutely beautiful and charming. As soon as you walk up, you can hear the wind chimes blowing and we were immediately transported to a simpler time. There's tons of cozy seating outside ad even games to play. But when you walk in, WOW!! So many fun things to see, and "It's all for sale" to quote Scott. :-) He has so many fun and unique items that he has collected, bargain, and traded for over the years and great stories to go with each item.
We toured the outside of the home and learned about the history of not only the home but the many older plants and trees. The grounds are wonderful and even a few movies have been filmed there.
At the end of our meal, we were able to do a ghost hunt and explore the rest of the home and see all of the fun and beautiful rooms. This dinner and a show was completely worth it and exceeded our expectations. We can't wait to go back and stay the night as well as eat more meals there. In fact, they even do an authentic high tea.
I can't believe how easy it was to get there, they are located right off of Highway 90 which leads straight into the heart of Tallahassee. Had I known this was here years ago, I would've made this my go to place long ago!

Our first time stay and visit to this charming, old South area! The owners, Cathy and Scott were quite fun, interesting and made our stay very enjoyable. They went out of their way to may us feel very comfortable and gain us as a returning , future customer.

Their collection of artwork, antiques and many additional unique collectibles on every wall, was very impressive and remarkable! ( Even the Bee Gee's suitcase).

We had two rooms and enjoyed the solitude, but would recommend staying in a room with either double beds or a queen. The standard bed would be great for newlyweds, but not so much for grandparents.

The park like grounds are totally incredible! Scotty was very knowledgeable of all of the beautiful plants, trees and history of the property. Amazing beauty in this natural, old South setting!

A real keeper for us, and very enjoyable! Would highly recommend! Thank you Gary and Claudia.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Daffodale House for two nights for my husband's work trip. What a lovely place to stay! When we arrived that night, Scott met us outside to show us where to park and to escort us into the huge, welcoming house. We enjoyed Cathy's delicious cooking that night as we savored the perfectly cooked ribeye which was smothered in mushrooms and onions, garlic smashed potatoes, lobster bisque, and Cathy's famous peach tea. We wrapped up our meal with delicious desserts and the best coffee we've ever had. We had the joy of staying in the Safari room which is perfectly decorated and super cozy - and the king size bed in there is incredibly comfortable. We awoke the next two morning to a flavorful breakfast. Scott and Cathy welcome you in and are so accommodating and super friendly. We cannot recommend this place enough! Do yourself a favor and go enjoy a few nights there!

So much fun. The owners went out of their way to make us feel at home. Theresa is an amazing cook and hostess. Every morning we were greeted with the smell of bacon, fresh fruit, coffee, bread. We also attended dinner and stories. Again, the food was amazing. We had bread, salad, lasagna and yummy pumpkin pie all was homemade! The stories were a lot of fun and you can tell how much the owners love the house and how much work they put into in it.

We took our 3 year old daughter on her first roadtrip, and the Daffodale Estate was our last stop on our vacation.

We have nothing but great things to say about this place. On the day of check-in we received a courteous phone call from the owners asking us if we had any questions or needed any directions before we got there. Cathy asked us if we were dining in with them, which was such a great perk because we knew we would be hungry by the time we got there!

Entering the property was like entering a whimsical antique shop. You can just tell that everything here is a reflection of the owner’s love for the arts and history. I felt like we fit right in. It’s cozy, homey, and an experience all at once.

Dinner was a hug, and breakfast came out on pretty porcelain dishes. My daughter had an exciting time navigating through the bamboo forest— yes, there’s a bamboo forest in the backyard, and finding beautiful wild spring flowers sprouting out of the ground throughout the estate.

On our floor we had a complimentary coffee station that also had a fridge with water. We stayed in the Carousel Room, which was decorated with mirrors, an old vintage horse inside our room and right outside of our door- so cool.

Cathy showed me their tea room that they use for tea time. I learned that they host tea parties during certain hours of the day, and are an open restaurant for all who come by. If you like lace, sun hats, and long for a little escape from today’s world, this is the tea room for you.

Thank you so much Cathy and Scotty for being so welcoming. We will be back!

My husband and I had a wonderful time!

The great customer service started when we arrived: the owner knew our names, had been expecting us and had the table ready for us.

The food was delicious (the bagel with brie and cranberries was a welcome surprise, and the lemon curd was perfect!).

We also had a stimulating conversation with our host and other guests. The ghost tour must be fascinating so we will probably be back.

We visited the Daffodale House for a one night stay with dinner and breakfast as a gift. The hostess Cathy greeted us at the door and immediately explained the bed and breakfast facility, our meals and things to do. The dinner, grilled mahi-mahi, was fantastic and the portion size was great for us. The desserts, chocolate cake and raspberry cheesecake were homemade and delicious. After dinner, Cathy’s husband Scotty treated us to a tour of the grounds and the home, which was loaded with memorabilia. We were also treated to his many stories which put us and the other dinner guests at ease and a flowing conversation. Our room was very comfortable, clean and had a spacious bathroom. The TV was crystal clear, lots of premium channels and on-site WiFi was included. We had access to bottled water, coffee, and tea in a common area near the bedrooms. The coffee was a small drip maker which worked okay. However, a single serve coffee maker with K-cups and a few choices of brew may work better in this area. Our breakfast was also fantastic, our eggs and bacon were prepared perfectly and again just the right portion sizes. After chef Cathy’s breakfast, Scotty continued to share his life experiences and more about his memorabilia collection! Overall, a very enjoyable time.

We viited the Daffodale House this past Saturday for Tea Time. This is our first time to anything like this, and to our surprise we loved it. The Daffodale house to too cute to mention. We loved the décor not to say that the tea sandwiches were the best we've had and the desserts were great. We so enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to go back their to try their dinners. The owners were so cordial and inviting they made us feel so welcomed and were very informative about the history of the Daffodle house. It was one of my all time favorite things that we have done and can't wait to go back. If you've never been to a tea party please give it a try. You will be pleasantly surprised on how much fun it is.

We loved staying in the Carriage House, amazingly comfortable bed. Warm welcome, delicious food. We loved that they had us eating in the same room with other couples and were great at starting conversations that kept us all chatting enthusiastically throughout our stay, sharing places to go, see and eat. The food was delicious. The place felt clean. Scotty and Cathy were wonderful hosts and we can’t wait to come back. There was a plethora of knick knacks and vintage furniture and collectibles. Very fascinating.

Hi Rhona, Yes I have room available, the rates are $150.00 a night and yes we can do dinner as well. I serve Ribeye Steaks, Mahi Mahi and Chicken. I just need to know in advance what you would like to order to eat so I am ready for you and what time? If interested in a room night I will need a $50.00 deposit to hold the room and the balance paid once arrived. Cathy 850-997-1111
