The historic essence accompanied by the pleasant interaction with our hostess, Ms. Pat, along with some of the best breakfast fare available anywhere, places this destination as one of the tops on our travels. If more than 5 stars were available, we would certainly choose that number.

We arrived and were met by the owner, she provided us with information about places to eat dinner and showed us to our room. Breakfast was served at 8am and it was very good. Eggs, sausage and French toast with orange juice and coffee. We stayed two nights but did not eat breakfast the second day as we needed to get on the road. Staff serving breakfast were very friendly. Only thing I would like to see is two pots of coffee, with one that is not flavored. The owner was very helpful and provided a lot of good information about the area. There was wine and cookies in the evenings. The room was large. If in the area we would stay here again.

My mom and I took a trip to Monticello for her birthday. We wanted a charming small town for sight seeing. Beautiful old homes and cute shops were wonderful. Pat was a gracious host at this beautiful B&B. We enjoyed the home cooked gourmet breakfast served on pretty dishes. The baked goods and snacks were a nice touch. She had cold drinks in the fridge for us too. Our room was clean and we even stayed an extra night. Great location right by the quaint downtown shops. Beautiful homes in every direction for many relaxing walks. We have already booked again for next month!

I had previously stayed at this B&B and had a wonderful experience. In January of 2023 we knew we would be attending FSU football games and wanted to secure a room at this the Denham for parents weekend and other games. I made a reservation via their website in January 2023 for October 6 - 8th and have a confirmation. The owner called me and canceled today (8/26/2023) and told me that my rate was too low due to the FSU parents weekend and canceled my reservation so she could get higher rate from someone else. She actually blamed me saying that I booked knowingly the rate should be more. I realize that they need to make money however they should honor their price at the time my reservation was made.....but will not...... UNBELIEVABLE and dishonest!!!!!

Every year when we get the FSU game dates announced persons will immediately within the hour pounce to make reservations at the lower rate of half the price of game times as they know the rate will double. This is not fair to the other customers paying full rate. This happens to all of the lodging industry at this time. I am not required to honor this low price and really, really hate this happens. So now you have read the bad review I expected but did not deserve. I have operated this bnb for 23 years and rely heavily on my reputation of honesty.

Take a step back in history at the 1872 John Denham House Bed and Breakfast! It is rumored that the Blue room is haunted by Sarah Denham. You be the judge 👻.
We stayed there on the way through Monticello Fl on the way to Alabama. The home was nicely restored with plenty of amenities and a tasty home made breakfast. There where snacks and beverages available free of charge and comfortable rooms decorated back from the late 1800’s. We enjoyed the claw foot tub of the honeymoon suite and the multi candle display in one of 6 fireplaces. The rooftop cupola gives a spectacular view of the grounds. Highly recommend spending a night in this historic inn.

Monticello is definitely a quant must visit small town.

The drawback’s are:

Lack of garbage cans throughout the home. There was a small can available in the bathroom of our room only and didn’t see one in the common areas of the inn.

Ice is only available at a knock of the innkeepers kitchen door.

The honeymoon suite which faced the front of the home lacked appropriate bathroom window coverings and anyone could see all bathroom and bath activity from the front of the house in the evening.

The room was also missing a remote for the satellite system and our check in was later so we were unable to enjoy television during our stay. If we would have arrived earlier I’m sure the remote situation would have been resolved.

Still highly recommend a weekend at the 1872 Denham Inn. Pat was a great host. 5 star experience.

This was our second time at Denham House. The first was in January 2020 on a trip to Florida. We didn't travel in 2021, but were headed to Florida again in 2022 and enjoyed our first visit so much that we booked a night once again. Not disappointed. Pat is a fabulous hostess and the house is beautiful. We had a lovely, spacious room on the second floor and although the house was totally booked never heard a sound all night. Pat's breakfast is second to none - fruit, special waffle, and eggs. We didn't eat again until we had arrived at our destination late that afternoon. She also made sure to keep us all socially distanced and is practicing all COVID protocols. We'll be back!

A lovely spot to spend the night in a comfortable room with an excellent breakfast. The owner Pat is very informative, provided plenty of info, walking tour map, & food recommendations (ate at the REV). Excellent breakfast spread. Tasty afternoon treats. I gave a 4 vs a 5 as the home & grounds need more love, but don't get me wrong, the home is super clean, just getting tired.

Thank you for your wonderful review. This is a 150 year old National HIstoric Register Property. So we will not have the new slick surfaces. The grounds are historic heirloom plantings so there again we will not have the new perfection. I don't know at 150 years old if we will get much more rested lol. But we have had a full restoration and work hard to maintain the original surfaces and ambiance.

Low key, pleasant and friendly.
Rooms are nicely decorated and very clean. Rooms have comfortable beds,
showers and or bath and television.
Breakfast is a lovely experience.
Fresh fruit, home cooked gourmet breakfast. Such as Pecan waffles, blueberry pancakes, french toast, eggs, sausage to name a few.
The price is very fair and affordable.
I highly recommend staying there.

I loved every minute of my 4 day stay. The bed was so soft and the breakfasts were absolutely amazing. Pat is a great cook, she made a different breakfast every morning. The area was very quiet and the front porch was a dreamy place to read or talk to others staying there. Pat is a fun hostess and always makes time to stop and talk and help with informaiton. There is no doubt I will be back within the year.

We stayed a night at the 1875 Denham Inn in Monticello Florida while traveling through north Florida. Pat Inmon is a gracious host and we throughly enjoyed our all to brief stay. We stayed in the Blue Room which was very comfortable for the two of us and for our K-9 traveling companion. The inn is very dog friendly and Pat makes both her human and K-9 guests feel welcome. Out stay included a delicious breakfast which included fresh fruit, orange juice, croissants and an egg casserole with featured locally sourced ingredients. We look forward to our next stay a the inn. We highly recommend this unique bed and breakfast.
