Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed in a delightful cabin, that had absolutely everything we needed, with a gorgeous view out every window. The hosts were super helpful, and breakfast awesome. We would thoroughly recommend!! A++

We spent two nights in the Cottage at Ohaupo Olives - the photos don’t do it justice. It has every modern convenience, including a washing machine, air conditioning and great wifi. Spotlessly clean, quiet, with a very comfy bed and linen sheets and seats outside for enjoying the late afternoon sun and view. And fresh home baking to welcome you from a hot day at Waitomo or exploring the local area. It’s really well situated to do a lot of sightseeing from. Roger and Liz are wonderful hosts and invited us in for a complimentary glass of wine the first evening - that was very welcome. The cooked breakfast was superb, thanks Roger! We didn’t want to leave and took home a bottle of their olive oil!! We have no hesitation in recommending. Enjoy!!!

Ohaupo olives is exquisitely furnished with every mod con you could imagine. Liz & Roger are delightful and make you feel at home immediately. The rooms are spacious, exceptional furniture, comfortable beds with fresh, top quality linen. The views are awesome and an afternoon on the patio with a glass of wine is fantastic.

From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome. It wasn't long before we were sitting down with a complimentary glass of wine and tasting a selection of their cold-pressed homegrown virgin Olive Oil! Will be staying there again as soon as possible! Thanks for making our trip to Hamilton even more special

We arrived late in the evening. Liz (the host) was very nice, preparing a tray of bread, herbs, and olive oil from their own yard. It was very delicious! The house was modern, luxe, yet cozy. The assistant manager was Margareth, a cat, who came to our room to say good bye. Roger (Liz's husband) cooked great scrambled eggs for us. We really wish to come back during better season.

I can’t recommend Ohaupo Olives enough - beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, great location near Hobbiton, Waitomo Caves, Hamilton, but most importantly wonderful hosts. Above and beyond service, friendly and unobtrusive and a wonderful breakfast.

The hotel closest to the CTC / L3 training centre at Clearways was full at the time I was making a short visit to my son who is pilot training, Ohuapo Olives was very close by, 5 minutes away so I booked it for two nights. On arrival I was warmly greeted by the owners who made me feel very welcome for my entire stay. This isn't an ordinary B&B, the standard and attention to detail is higher than many 5 star hotels I have stayed in! There was absolutely nothing missing and I am sure if there was it would have been provided, it wasn't too cold while I was there but noticed an electric blanket on my bed. The property is set in an olive grove of 400 trees and home produced cold pressed virgin olive oil is available to buy. The view from my room was overlooking the olive groves across to the hills into the distance, amazing! I think there are three guest rooms in the main house and a couple of guest lodges in the garden? The breakfast in the morning was served in the open plan kitchen at the family dining table, this made for a very relaxed and comfy atmosphere! The breakfast was more than adequate, fresh fruit, muesli, toast, pancakes, bacon and juice, coffee and tea. It is unfortunate that my stay was so short as I would have liked to have enjoyed Ohaupo Olives for much longer!

A stunning B&B overlooking the countryside with beautifully appointed rooms (super king beds, linen sheets, flat screen TV, wifi, ensuite bathroom). Lovely hospitable hosts who provided coffee, treats (try their own Olive Oil) and a delicious breakfast. So quiet and peaceful - a wonderful stay. Beats staying in a hotel any day!
