From the staff to the amenities to price and view, this hotel is a true gem. Everyone we engaged with worked hard and pleasantly to assure a good stay. The property is simply stunning, meticulously upkept: the lush tropical feel is thoughtfully carried out throughout, from the public sitting areas to the lovely outdoor and indoor dining spaces. You have to like plants and greenery to enjoy this, which you should! The pool was fun and comfortable to hang out at, though it's true that chairs get claimed early. In four days, though, we never had a problem snagging our two chairs. The beach is pristinely maintained! The water is gorgeous turquoise--way better than beaches in the Northeast, and having a private beach meant clean and fairly sedate.
The clientele was just what we hoped to be among: young well-behaved families with kids, older adults (like ourselves), friends and business associate groups. Great music piped all day, tasteful mix--this is NOT a party place. Love it! Will be back!

The food was wonderful. We had lunches, drinks, bar food bits--all fairly priced and delicious. Pricing at the Palms, for everything, seems super fair and worthwhile. Do expect a 20% automatic tip applied, but to us it only simplified the stay.

Room tip: oceanfront view on a high floor is super worth it!

Beautiful hotel, very clean, comfortable beds The combination of feeling you’re in the tropics with the palm trees on the patio outside is rare for Miami. We stayed in a suite with a balcony, no attention to detail was spared
Two different coffee makers one was a Nespresso the other one a Keurig, State of the art lighting system each switch has labels on it when you have a sweet this big it was great you could walk in the door and you have an all on switch and an all off switch. Very comfortable beds, more closets and drawers for storage than I have ever seen, two refrigerators one standard mini bar style the other one is for wine but it’s bigger and it’s colder which was great to keep juices and stuff in, double sink vanity in the master bath, second bath was a half bath, toilet and single sink vanity. great for privacy especially since the doors are frosted glass French doors, shower is a rain and handheld shower head style with all glass. Loved they had a recycling waste can, all of Miami was very green with concern for their resources ❤️ The hotel is 12 floors and the view was amazing of the ocean, very quiet and the concierge was so very helpful with recommendations. The house keeping was very fast and friendly. The food was good I just wished they had more of variety so we didn’t have to go out to eat all the time. But Miami has soooo much to choose from it was all good. The whole place is so beautiful warm and inviting we felt very much at home making it very hard to leave😊 I would have posted more pictures to show the rest of the beautiful hotel but was only allowed 10 via trip advisor rules

I can't say enough about this place. I took my wife for her surprise birthday weekend and we loved it (and she is very picky). It's not a 5 star of over the top amenities like a Ritz, but it's an absolutely beautiful oasis in the middle of Miami Beach. From the time you are greeted at the front door, to check in and the food staff - they are the most incredibly thoughtful and friendly staff with diverse cultural backgrounds. Lush palm trees, flowering bushes and tropical birds surround the pool and dining areas, (making you forget you're in a high rise.) The outdoor dining is classic old south wood/ceiling fans and fauna, and the food is not only delicious, but very reasonably priced for a resort. My wife also thought the spa treatments were first class - and pricey but at least high quality.

The rooms are very clean (the Covid protocol cleaning supplies can give the rooms a bit of a clinical smell - but a good candle from the spa can help with this. We appreciate during Covid that they're required to use special cleaners.

There are Citibikes for rent on the nearby pier which allows you to bike to great restaurants along Miami Beach. But the food is so good at the hotel you'll be happy eating most of your meals right there.

I live in Miami and wanted a birthday getaway but concerned about COVID so I was looking for a smaller hotel on the beachside and not by crowded south beach (ocean drive from 5th to 15th) after much research I called The Palms because I noticed a promo online. Hannah answered and was so helpful, she offered to hold a reservation for me with an additional 30% off and with an Ocean View. When I arrived at check-in I met Hannah, she was so nice and informative. I was impressed at their touch-less checkin except for one signature, they had lovely sanitized Palms pens which I kept one as a souvenir. The entrance and lobby is very nice, everything updated and welcoming. Everyone wore masks, many safety signages posted and hand sanitizing stations located at lobby, elevator and etc. My room was amazing, double beds with the ocean view as promised. Their website is accurate from amenities to pictures the rooms lobby, outdoor dining and pool area and the landscape was impeccable. I was impressed. (There was some constructive from the city next door & boardwalk but didn’t affect my stay) As guests you have chairs and umbrella available to you on the beach, about a 2 minute walk from pool to beach chairs. Pool side service was great so was the food and drinks. For those driving and valet, it’s $42 a night but there’s an overnight parking garage close by, I would suggest to call hotel for location or anything else.

My husband and I had another wonderful stay at the Palms Hotel and Spa. This place is an absolute gem and the staff go out of their way to serve their guests. The level of hospitality is truly exceptional! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by Carlos at the door who took our bags. The lobby is simply gorgeous and welcoming! We then checked in and the front desk staff remembered us from previous visits and made us feel truly welcomed. We stayed on the 12th floor in a room with a beautiful balcony overlooking the beach. The rooms are incredibly clean and modern with nothing out of place. The rooms are equipped with modern lighting and temperature controls located conveniently in the room and above both night tables.

The pool area is just as well-maintained as the rest of the property. The attentive staff make sure that you have everything you need to enjoy the pool or beach area. We had previously stayed at this hotel and noted the cleanliness long before the covid crisis so their attention to detail and keeping things clean was nothing new. The grounds are meticulously maintained and it literally feels like an oasis in such a busy location. The hotel is quiet and a peaceful escape from the busier areas of South Beach.

We would like to express our thanks to some of the best staff in the hospitality business by name and by no means were they alone. Carlos, Jean on the beach, Jean in Essensa, Chris serving drinks, Luciana making them, Vivian and Natalie at the salon, and of course Maria at the front desk!

This place was really wonderful on so many levels. Agree about great staff and great smell in the lobby. Room was really beautiful, tastefully decorated, and comfortable as well. Food was good. OMG the ocean was ideal. The one issue is (and bear in mind it was one of their busiest weeks of the year) that the guests are kind of on top of each other at the pool. If you want a chair you have to get out to the pool and put a towel down by 9am on you’re out of luck. It’s a pretty expensive place so feels like this should be a lot easier. There are plenty of chairs for the beach though, so you do get to lie out somewhere. Also of note is that the Peruvian place a block north is really great. Loved the trip in general and a very good chance we will return to The Palms next year.

When I return to Miami I will DEFINITELY be staying here again. This place felt like being on a very secure and private tropical vacation. Not only was the location and atmosphere a perfect oasis in the middle of a busy city, this place also offered guest service unlike any resort I've been to in a while. To start the bellhops stored our luggage long before check in and a full day after check out and even let us access them a few times if we needed anything. The serving staff at the restaurant, tiki bar, and on the beach were so friendly, tentative, and entertaining. It is also a bonus that the food and drinks were great as well ( I highly reccomend the burger, filet mignon, and the seafood pasta). The true stand out for me though was the cleaning staff. They went above and beyond when they cleaned our room. Over all I am very impressed with this place. Its hard to find such a private oasis with amazing service in Miami, so if a relaxing vacation is what you are looking for this is the place to be.

Nice spot with resort pool and beach. Went with two friends and the king room with double pull-out couch was average... was expecting a bit more space. It has a separate toilet room, which is great for multiple people, and we appreciated the great view of the beach. The food was decent (with helpful dietary indications on the menus) and the service was mixed... some service was excellent, some was poor (very delayed and not very hospitable). The spa was average with a nice waiting room with waterfalls outside. Two of us didn't get all the expected features of our spa services and they gave us a discount, which was nice. I think it was good value for money in Miami Beach since the nicer hotels are significantly more expensive.

Very noisy, you can hear the conversation from the next room. Our room was next to the elevator making it even more bothersome with the noise coming from it. After the first night I requested the room changed. A nice lady said “of course, we’ll take care of it” but never heard from them. The following day I went to the front desk and asked about the room swapping and the lady said: “Oh no.. let me check” she looked in the computer and then look some more and didn’t say anything else. I said “forget about it”.
No coffeemaker in the room. Not available from the front desk either.
If you book through Expedia like I did, the hotel, upon arrival, will charge you $38 a day for the use of wifi, Pool and beach towels, weather you use it or not.
Restaurant food was just ok but service was very good.
Front desk staff couldn’t care less.
The room fan and lights work with motion detectors. If you don’t move around for a while, lights and fan turned off.

The room was great. Get 6th floor ocean view. The bedding, drawers, Keurig, and especially the wall controls for lighting were fantastic! Make sure room 606 has the shower floor fixed or you will have a puddle of water into the hallway. The food was over priced. $18 for 3 pancakes, solo. The waitress was not friendly and did not take our orders properly. When we asked the food delivery guy, he spoke to the waitress who turned to us, gave nasty look, shook her head, and then came over with an attitude. I ordered pancakes and bacon. I was hoping the bacon came included with the entree because the menu did not specify. The menu also advertises 'Pure Maple Syrup' but you do not receive that. You receive to-go packets of Mrs. Butterworth Syrup. The breakfast burrito meal was portionate and delicious. The bacon was delightful and the blueberry compost was gross. I would rather have the actual blueberries on the pancakes. When you check in, no one explained what the colors mean on the door number outside the room, or that it is also a doorbell. I found the communication was lacking form management and the receptionists. Upon checking out, the hotel manager asked me of I would like help with my bags. I said yes. She said someone would be up to the room shortly. We waited 30 minutes and no one came. Room service kept entering the room to clean it, but we were still there so we just left. Ask for the bartender Anastacia. She was the best and also the guy who took our order on the beach. They were very friendly and treated us like people. Actually, all of the staff except for receptionists and especially hotel manager. Also, beware of pricing when booking through hotel website. They advertise pricing, but it changes when checking out.

Answer from Mark G

You have easy walking access to the beach from the pool area. Out the hotel's front door you are on Collins Avenue at 31st Street with a number of restaurants and bars in the area, but not quite as picturesque a locale as South Beach and not as many high action options. But you can walk (or rent a city bicycle) and proceed south on the boardwalk by the beach and be at South Beach in no time!

I would go with Loews, no doubt. A bit more per night but worth it given the inconsistent service, more dated rooms and at times mediocre quality at Palms. Then I would rather pay up and get a better experience and quality. The beach and pool areas at the Palms are very nice, so if you’re not that fuzzy about the rooms and service level it is an ok choice.
