Nestled in a prime location, The Balfour Hotel Miami Beach is often celebrated for its charming atmosphere and proximity to the beach, offering a tranquil retreat close to various attractions.

On Sunday evening, walking along Ocean Drive, we discovered this wonderful restaurant with excellent food and outstanding service. A special mention to the Busser Meredith; the empanadas are the best. I highly recommend this restaurant, which is located in a less crowded and crazy area compared to a few blocks ahead on Ocean Drive

I would recommend staying at The Balfour. We arrived early from a cruise and were greeted by William who instantly made us feel welcome.
He was most helpful in explaining the facilities and location and assisted us with an early check in.
The Balfour is in a perfect location on Ocean Drive, just outside of the noisy part of the street but very easy to walk to the main attractions. We borrowed bikes and had access to beach towels and beach chairs and umbrellas which was included in the tariff.
The building is a beautiful art deco building with loads of character and charm.
We were very comfortable and would definitely stay again.
Thank you William for your hospitality

Great location and in a residential area even though it is on Ocean Drive.
The beach can be reached on foot in just 2 minutes and you can access the sunbeds and umbrellas reserved for the hotel, included in the daily tax per room of $39.90, but if you want to move, the beach can cost up to $70
Parking is very important if you have rented a car, the hotel asks for $45 per day but if you are traveling around it is not worth it. There are municipal car parks that you pay $20 for up to 24 hours, but on Saturday and Sunday the fee is fixed at $20 even if you stayed for 2 hours.

We booked a week stay at the Balfour and we really enjoyed the proximity to the beach, and amazing staff here. We were greeted initially by Ibrahim and William and they were both very friendly and hospitable. We got recommendations for things to do and places to visit to get the ‘Miami experience’. Sofia, and Elise and Alberto were also very attentive during our stay and their service was spot on. Nelson and Ibrahim also had great recommendations for things to do and were great to talk to. Above all the whole staff made us feel at home. The hotels location is on the quieter side which was great beacuse it was not loud at night. Its proximity to things was for us was good. There is a trolley that you can use that is free to go up and down the streets. So you can walk a block or two and catch it. The beach was across the street -like a two min walk and beach chairs and towels were included in the stay as well as the umbrellas which was great. The hotel has a cute pool we only took one dip in it lol because we preferred the beach. The cleaning team was also amazing. We got fresh towels when we requested. Overall I would recommend to stay in the Balfour to anybody considering a visit to Miami we loved the vibe and aesthetic. Lastly the welcome drink was bomb - don’t drink it too fast.
Thank you William for the bottle of wine & for breaking everything down to us.

This was the most disappointing hotel on our road trip. It was really hard to find a suitable hotel in this area so I was pleased to book this one. The location is very good as it is a road back from the noisy art deco main strip. There is valet parking although you have to be quick unpacking as there is only one slot and one trolley. I had requested a room on a low floor and this was provided on the 3rd floor. Unfortunately the hotel is undergoing renovations particularly on the 4th floor but there are some areas being repaired on the 3rd floor too which didn't look particularly inviting. When we went to bed there was a very loud noise coming from the extractor pipes coming from the 4th floor just outside our junior suite. There was also a very strong smell of paint which was unpleasant and unhealthy. The night manager was very sympathetic and we eventually moved quite late at night into a room on the second floor. This was much smaller and smelt strongly of damp and the bed felt damp. We wanted to speak to a manager but they were all on a training course and we were assured someone would call about a reduction in price later that day. Nobody called that day or responded to our calls the next day. The day after that we spoke to a manager who said all he could do was give us a credit (which we explained we would never use) or give us the difference between the two rooms as a refund. Although we were not happy with this response as we had been inconvenienced and the second room was not suitable due to the smell we accepted this and waited for an email to confirm this. This has still not been received. Breakfast was included and was a basic continental breakfast. Soft drinks were very limited. It was a shame as on paper the hotel looks very nice and it is in a good location and other staff were friendly and helpful.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are genuinely sorry to hear about the disappointing experience you had during your stay at our hotel. Your satisfaction is of utmost importance to us, and we regret that we fell short of meeting your expectations. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the ongoing renovations, particularly the disturbance from the extractor pipes and the strong smell of paint. These have since been removed from the property. Please know that your comfort and well-being are our top priorities, and we deeply regret that we did not provide you with the relaxing and enjoyable stay you deserved. We appreciate your understanding in accommodating the room change, albeit with its own set of issues. It is disheartening to learn that our management team was unable to promptly address your concerns and provide you with a satisfactory resolution. Rest assured, we have taken note of your feedback and will work diligently to improve our communication and response protocols to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. Regarding the promised refund and confirmation email, we sincerely apologize for the oversight and any inconvenience caused by the delay. Our team is actively investigating the matter and will ensure that the appropriate actions are taken to rectify the situation promptly. Additionally, we appreciate your feedback regarding the breakfast offerings and the availability of soft drinks. We will review our offerings to ensure that they align with the expectations of our valued guests. Once again, we apologize for the shortcomings you experienced during your stay. Your feedback is invaluable to us as it helps us identify areas for improvement and deliver a better guest experience. We hope that you will consider giving us another opportunity to exceed your expectations in the future. If you have any further concerns or if there is anything else we can assist you with, please do not hesitate to contact us directly. A very well-run hotel, exceptionally located on Ocean Drive, in the quiet part, but a stone's throw from all the crazy excitement of the neighborhood.
Big room. Very nice style.
Friendly staff.
Please note: paid parking.
Access to Miami Beach, on a developed part (deckchairs and parasols), in 3 minutes on foot.
Warm sea, idyllic beach with the unmissable little lifeguard huts.
Small downside: the “continental” breakfast included in the room price is very mediocre: tea or coffee or orange juice + 1 huge, tasteless and stale croissant (possibility of asking for toast as a replacement).
Don't be surprised: at each Check in, a deposit will be taken from your credit card. This will be returned to you sometimes up to 4 days after your departure.
Please note: taxes and fees, sometimes high, must be added to the price of the room and paid directly to the hotel at check-out.

Our stay at the Balfour was a last-minute switch from a one-star hotel we had originally booked. We were desperate the night before our trip to find a better hotel (yes, we forgot to look at reviews, and yes, we were not refunded a penny - lesson learned). So, this time, we went to Trip Advisor, as one should always do, and The Balfour popped up with a 25% discount! We checked out the reviews and booked it! It was the best decision we could have made. The location is perfect. Steps from the South Beach action, but on a quieter street. One block from the beach and with a tiny pool on the premises (they should just turn it into a jacuzzi). It is far from cheap, but reasonable compared to other hotels which have the same "hidden fees" (resort fees and parking fees galore). My only nit with the resort fee is that if I am checking in at 4:00PM and it is raining cats and dogs am I really going to use the beach towel, beach chair and umbrella on that day!? The hotel vibe is chill bohemian. The rooms are really well decorated and clean. Amenities are bare necessities (shampoo, soap, etc.) and a keurig with delicious Lavazza coffee. The rooms could use more hooks for wet towels and bathing suits. Otherwise, the rooms are really lovely! As for the staff! They definitely are well trained in the art of guest hospitality. Polite, professional, and really a pleasure to speak with all around. No "too cool for school" South Beach attitudes. Shout out to Navi and William at the front desk! They were a joy to talk to - always helpful with a smile. There was not a request or question they could not handle! Needless to say, the Balfour is my new spot when visiting Miami!

I am so thankful that I chose this hotel. I had looked at every hotel in Miami/Miami Beach and finally settled on this one because the only negative review was that the air conditioning makes a weird shhh/whoosh sound, so it is hard to block that out to sleep. One night I did turn it off to see if that would help me sleep. There were a few times that I could hear other guests talking in the hallway and a patron next door talking on the phone, but it was kind of muffled. The hotel was quiet and clean. They used a strong scent (maybe for cleaning) that I didn't care for. You could choose beer, wine or Prosecco as your welcome drink for free. I chose this hotel because it was away from the strip of other resort hotels that were more expensive and where all the noise was. There is a good gelato shop and two restaurants next door that are good(Gelato To Go, Ocean View restaurant, The Local House) and it is within walking distance to other restaurants and stores on the surrounding blocks. I chose this hotel because it was the only thing I could afford and it did offer towels and beach chairs if you wanted. I didn't use them. To go to the beach, it's just across the street, zero minutes away which I loved. I stayed in a classic King room and it had a suit case rack and a closet with one drawer where you could put your things. The classic King did have a refrigerator and LaVazza coffee maker in the room. The shower head was fancy, but the water pressure wasn't heavy enough. The space between the bureau and the bathroom door is narrow. You have to get up and turn off the overhead lights and the fan when you're ready to go to bed. It's hard to figure out what all the light switches do, but once you figure it out, you won't forget. The phone charger stations on the bedside tables aren't real strong(but also my charger wasn't a g good one). I loved the free water bottles everyday. I chose this hotel because it had so many places to sit outside. I also chose it because it was tropical themed! There were many people staying there from other countries, but also from the US. I loved that it was away from the noise, was quiet and clean and it wasn't a large hotel. It felt mostly close to things I wanted to see. Ride sharing had no problem finding the hotel. The bed was comfortable and I liked that I could watch TV in bed-The TV was close so I could see it from the bed. I would stay here again.

Nice spot on Miami beach. We used to stay a little more north on the beach and are happy we made the decision to try south this time. William is a great guy and helped out a lot. The king suite was available and he was able to upgrade us for a reasonable price. Awesome and spacious room! It was nice to have the living room area off of the bedroom so if one of us didn’t want to go to sleep we could be watching TV or with the light on and and not bother one another. The hotel was all around a great atmosphere. Looking forward to next time!

William was a great host! I'll recommend this place to all my friends, and we will stay here again in the winter for sure! The check in was great. William offered us refreshing lavender scented towels upon arriving, clearly told us about all the amenities at the hotel, and stored our bags while the room was prepared. The beach is across the street and I'm currently writing this from the hotel's little area. Awesome spot!!
