Built on 3 spacious lots we have beautifully landscaped tropical gardens with barbecue grills and deck chairs in the rear of the motel for your use. The Siesta Motel has been a vacation favorite for years throughout the Keys. Known for having the cleanest rooms in paradise and some of the lowest prices year round ? all the top fishing guides keep their clients here. Minutes from Sombrero and Bahia Honda beach, Dolphin Research Center, Crane Point Hammock, Key West and shopping - we are centrally located.

We stayed 1 night at the Siesta Motel. We were in room 1, which is at the back of the property. It had 2 double beds, and a small bathroom.
The pool that you can use is 3 miles away near the Faro Blanco resort. You actually go to the back of that property, behind the Lighthouse Grill, to use that pool for free ( although Frank said you were kind of expected to buy something at the tiki bar there).
We actually used the pool ( for free) at the Sunset Grill, which also has a tiki bar, and is right at the start of the 7 mile bridge.
This motel is close to Sombrero Beach, which is a very nice beach on the Ocean side. You turn at the light at mile 50.
This motel met our needs, but we stayed in another motel when we returned to Marathon.

The good: The price was lower than anything else in the area and online it seemed like a cute "old-school" family run roadside hotel from yesteryear. The location was good in that it was fairly close to Key West (but not much else is going on there). Although old, we did not find the room to be dirty as some complained. Full size fridge and freezer was great to have.
The bad: Although the room was smoke free, the clean linens / towels are kept in the motel office, where the owners smoked constantly. The beds were very soft which would be ok if it was not for the broken bed frame that causes a deep sag in the middle. We were sharing the bed and ended up both falling to the center. The window A/C unit is loud, but at least room was cold. Screen in bathroom needed repair so we had some bugs enter at night.
As others have mentioned, our room did not have a hair dryer, coffee maker, or soap/shampoo although we learned later that they will provide if requested. There is no pool or restaurant.
We booked on Expedia, but ended up with an extra $17 tacked on to the bill which the owner said was "in the fine print" but I never could find it. Small issue I suppose. Owner did not really seem to be concerned that we were disappointed by the extra charge and by the overall state of disrepair, I guess it books out anyway since the price is lower than most, so no real motivation to improve it. That is a shame because with a little TLC, it could be a cute boutique retro experience, but instead it just came across as tired.

Very small (you get what you pay for) The AC is a noisy wall unit, there is NO pool, there is no hairdryer. Be sure to take soap & shampoo. Just feet from US 1 & an airport, it is very noisy. Thank goodness for a Dunkin Donuts next door for there is not a coffee maker either. Spend a few more dollars and be comfortable - somewhere else.

They advertise on thing and when you show up it completely different, plus you were charged the day you booked it and there is no way they give your money back. Nobody at the front desk. they left my door key scotch taped to the door. Terrible room and the owner (frank) doesn't care. He just cares about taking your money. My mistake for not checking the reviews. a lot better hotel nearby for the same price but with better conditions and nicer staff. Be aware!!!

Avoid this motel at all costs! The room we booked although, clean, was not in the hotel as described online! Online apparently there is a pool? There isn't. In the room, a coffee maker. There isn't!. A restaurant and coffee shop on site? There isn't! There is as the owner took some pains to point out a " Dunkin Donuts " franchise, some 30 yards down a path. When I pointed out that this did not represent a restaurant on site, the owner called me an idiot. When asked if he traded under the concept of " the customer is always right", he informed me that he didn't! Rude and boorish, he eventually hung up on our conversation! This motel was booked on the strength of an online description, which we took to be an honest representation of the property. This is anything but. Avoid and spend your hard earned money in an honestly represented property!

The most awful experience He lies about EVERYTHING AND WILL NOT make things right. The office was closed before 4:00 pm Could not get in touch with staff. Room was dirty with dead bugs. Smelled from smoke. Vents were extremely dirty. Shower curtain was dirty and smelled from smoke. The maids were very rude when asked a simple question about the area. My friend had bug bites on her. If there was a zero that’s what I would give it. No adequate parking available especially for the rear rooms. And no resident would move their car.

A cheap motel, so we had low expectations. The room smelled so strongly from cleaning that I had a head ache all night. The shower was bad and had cold water. We had tiny ants on the table in the morning.
I would rather pay 100$ more for a good nights sleep than staying here.

I can only give a review on the few minutes I was in the room. The stench of cheap air freshener immediately brought on an asthma attack. This place made the Bates Motel look good. I sat on the bed briefly and I knew my husband who had back surgery wouldn’t survive the night. Writing this I’m still short of breathe with an extreme headache. Vintage, quaint, etc is fine. We are not high maintenance, but I’m sure even a working girl would think twice about staying an hour here

Should be 1 but they did let me change my date because of surgery I was having. When we went to check in the office was closed I was told it closed at 4 sign said 2. I called they had canceled my room for non payment. We had to prove pmt! They had record of pmt why did I have to prove it. Why did they not show it! Very unorganized place. Lady working said owner wouldn’t let them see any pmt info. We did stay 2 nights because we had paid and it is old but we don’t mind that. Not well kept at all. Screen in bathroom was hanging half off. I would not recommend this place at all!

Dated and in dire need of updates throughout. Place was clean but just very undesirable. Beds very soft and for a couple was horrible. First night we had to sleep in separate beds and the second night we were put in another room and single bed was as bad. Amenities dated except refrigerator was nice, shower head was horrible as a mist or more u could get out of it, luckily on spent minimal time in room. Owners please put some Luv into your small motel.
