I stayed here 2 nights in March 2020 and enjoyed a very pleasant stay. The room was special with many period features including 4 poster bed, fireplace and antique bathroom fixtures. The building is over 100 years old and sits in a secluded lakeside location. Restaurants in Maitland are walking distance. I think this is a real gem. Oh I almost forgot the breakfast was homemade, interesting and delicious. Thanks!

We love when guests are pleasantly surprised by our beautiful inn, and our unexpected location. It is great to be able to offer restaurants and attractions within a short walk from us. And we are in the middle of 8 acres of city parkland overlooking Lake Eulalia, yet only 5 miles from downtown Orlando and 2 miles into downtown Winter Park. What a wonderful property and a great service! I would highly recommend this property over any 5 star hotel. I have a severe gluten and dairy allergy and the host went out of her way to accommodate ne and eliminate and possible cross contamination. I can’t express how much this meant to me. Sleeping room was spacious and quiet. The house has plenty of space to enjoy the nature and nearby lake. This was a corporate retreat for our 7 member team, and the property was great for this type of activity.

Best experience. Beverly helped with some custom needs I had, and was generally very attentive to everyone’s needs. She also stayed up to welcome me even when my flight was delayed (I arrived in the middle of the night). Beverly is very refined and warm. Definitely recommend staying here.

Our recent stay at Thurston House B & B to celebrate my in-law's 60th anniversary was exceptional. Beverly, the innkeeper, has truly perfected the art of hospitality.
The rooms were impeccably clean, providing a cozy and inviting relaxing sanctuary. But what truly stole the show were the breakfasts. Beverly's culinary skills shine through in every dish, surpassing our expectations in both flavor and presentation. Further, she effortlessly accommodated our allergies and preferences.

After a hectic trip from Chicago to Orlando, my wife and I arrived at Thurston House and a calm immediately washed over us.
The immaculately attended historic home was a welcome refuge for us both. The inviting space was matched by a large, well-appointed room, delightful and tasty breakfast followed by a memorable nature walk around the property's lush gardens and adjacent lakes.
An oasis not to be missed.

What a warm and welcoming place Thurston House Bed and Breakfast was. A lovely house with a wonderful porch overlooking a lake. The breakfasts were outstanding and different every day of the 7 we were there. Beverly was friendly and delightful, offered ideas for places to see and go, and was an excellent chef. When we asked for a certain time for breakfast, it was always ready at that time. The beds were comfortable, there were chairs to sit in for reading or TV watching in your room, as well as in the living room and parlor downstairs, or on the porch. The B&B is close to Winter Park, but there are also many convenient and delicious places to eat nearby in the Maitland area. We enjoyed our stay at Thurston House immensely! Thank you so much, Beverly, for sharing this wonderful place with us!

What a lovely retreat, nestled in the woods and overlooking a small lake. It was very quiet, although close to every sight we wanted to visit. Beverly is a warm hostess and made us feel immediately at home, offering us fresh-out-of-the-oven cookies. She gave us the history of this historic home and let us explore the beautifully restored and furnished living rooms. She also recommended several restaurants for dinner. Our charming room was immaculately clean, the bathroom modern with all the amenities we needed. The bed was SO comfy, and we appreciated the desk and sitting areas. Breakfast was delicious- warm and nutritious. It was a good send off for our busy day. I highly recommend staying at Thurson House. We plan to return.

We had a lovely stay at the Thurston House. The room was clean and pleasantly decorated, and Beverly was a wonderful hostess. Breakfast was delicious and very generous portions, with an egg entree, baked item, fruit, and juice each day. The ham and cheese omelette, peach waffles, and blueberry bread pudding were particularly fabulous. Highly recommend!

Five stars for the room, the service and the location! And, if I had one more I’d use six stars to describe the breakfasts! We really had a delightful stay with our host Beverly at the Thurston House. We have a lovely room (the O’Heir Suite). Nicely decorated with a comfortable bed and en suite. Very quiet. Flooded with sunlight in the mornings. And, bonus, the “sleeping porch” was adjacent to our room. I spent many hours rocking lazily in the Pawley’s Island hammock sipping some delicious Scotch and reading. The service was perfect. Beverly has thought of everything. She was never more than a text away when we had a question. And, she’s a great cook! The breakfasts were bountiful and delicious! It was just dumb luck but we happened to be visiting during the Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival. Quite the affair! A juried festival, they invite more than 250 artists and welcome 350,000 visitors over three days. The Thurston House is so convenient to Winter Park. Less than four miles away. Or fellow B&B guest were able to give us some valuable tips regarding parking and Beverly made some wonderful suggestions for restaurants! We will definitely be visiting the Thurston House again!!

This bed and breakfast inn was amazing! It is a peaceful gem nestled in a beautiful wooded area on a lake. The innkeeper was wonderful! Beverly was kind gracious and very committed to understanding our dietary limitations. My husband is allergic to peanuts and legumes and she was very cautious to ensure the meal would be compatible. Her cooking and baking skills were very impressive! The room was spotless and so homey. Sitting in a rocker with coffee watching the sun rise over the lake…perfection. And all just a couple of miles from the bustling city. With just 3 suites, it will never be overcrowded. I recommend it to anyone that wants to be spoiled.

Sorry not allowed to do any functions here. There are so many restaurants in WInter PArk that could do it. In Maitland the Maitland Art Center, Antonio's and the new Black Fin. Good luck! Please keep us in mind for wedding guests accommodations.
There are more places to choose from in the Maitland area.
